I have really bad allergies... and this is my first pregnancy. Can I take any kind of allergy medicine?

What are some good cold medicines that i can take at 35 wks? I had a runny nose for about a week ,i thought it was just allergies but now my throats beginning to hurt and im getting mucus n my chest... i need something ... any1 know?

Claritin is safe. At babycenter.com they have a charf listing what medicines are safe.

I'm having the worst allergies possible. Haven't had them at all during this pregnancy until I hit Idaho and Washington. It's horrible..I'm going nuts. I can't breathe out of my nose. Hubby is a truck driver I've been cruising but headed home next week. Any suggestions?? Any meds ok to take??

Maybe the dust, drug allergies, food allergies, certain chemicals in shampoos, shower gels.. When allergies happened, my body feels hot, hurt, pain & itchy all over my hands, including my face, body & legs.. The most seriousnes is my hands.. I'm normally take up medicines given by doctor. The medicines are fungus, itchy & allergy. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this or the symptoms and if so what can help - apart from taking the medicines on itchiness!

The most important thing is to remember to ONLY use antibiotics when there is a definite infection going on and NOT for viruses or allergies. Sometimes constant allergies can lead to an infection, and if you're finding that you are getting a lot of sinus infections, etc., you may want to seriously consider other options for treating your allergies that would be more effective and could hopefully keep you from getting the infections in the first place.

I do not understand why people continue to use this old-fashioned and relatively ineffective method of treating allergies (not to mention costly). I got rid of all my food and flower and pollen allergies with kinesiology. That was about 15 years ago. The allergies and their misery never returned.

So if one has both, the surgery itself will not make the allergies go away. Therefore, medicines like cetirizine may be needed indefinitely if symptoms are bad enough. Cetirizine is generally very well tolerated. You can look online for the list of possible side effects.

I was on Allegra the first 20 weeks or so of my pregnancy to help with my allergies; I've also been on prescription asthma medicines since before I found out I was pregnant, and they have me on steroid medications right now to treat it since it's gotten pretty bad. At every stage they've said the baby would be fine, and she is fine...last time I saw her she was yawning and kicking up a storm. :) Trust your doctors; they wouldn't let us take anything that was bad for the baby.

Allergies maybe. Take some Zyrtec or Benydryll, or Nyquil before you go to bed. If it is allergies, it will get better within two days.

I have used all creams,benedryl spray, medicines. Please direct in the right direction as to who as a doctor I should go see.

I take a lot of medicines & vitamins regularly. Recently I developed a blood clot, and I did read on this site that Aspirin helps with time. The only disease I have is G6PD I have no allergies or anything Is it okay to try it Aspirin ?!
