Avatar f tn I was cleared to take zyrtec during my last pregnancy and with this one. Benadryl is ok after the first trimester.
Avatar n tn My shih tzu had allergies what over the counter medicine can I purchase to give to the dog that will not be harmful he wheezes
1374102 tn?1363009479 Benadryl is really the only safe "cold" medicine, and its more for allergies than cold's. I've heard good things about the nettie pot though with clearing out congestion.
Avatar n tn I've had severe allergies for 24 weeks! My whole pregnancy. I have been coughing and sneezing for this long! Now for a month now I have had ear aches, and sore throat. I take claritin once daily, delsum cough medicine, benadryl at night, for the pressure in my ear I plug my nose and mouth and blow air until I hear and feel a mild POP or use steam for nasal problems, I use saline non medicated nasal spray and gargle salt water, I'm gonna buy a humidifier to help too.
3652468 tn?1367020305 So juss wait for it, but u might also not get sick, evef pregnancy is dif. And I have allergies rediculously! Im 18wks today, and still have them, I take Zyrtec and Tylenol w//o caffeine in it.

Avatar f tn Ladies please help!!! I've always had super bad allergies and the only thing I've found that works is DayQuil/NyQuil and obviously can't take that being 10 weeks pregnant. I seriously miss being able to breathe! Anyone know of a SAFE and effective allergy/sinus OTC medicine I can take???
Avatar f tn Talk to your doctor there ARE allergy meds that are safe to take during pregnancy. I have horrible allergies that act up even more when I'm pregnant and I always have to take SOMETHING for them.
Avatar f tn My husband and I just found out Christmas Eve we're expecting. Were 5weeks and I am now sick. It hit me yesterday. Stuffy nose turned into a runny nose. Woke up with a sore throat, sneezing, runny nose, headache, some nosy aches. Our weather has changed drastically where I live and I have allergies and get sick at the drop of a hat, but now that I'm pregnant, I can't just take medicine like normal. My question is, what medicine can I take while pregnant to get rid of this sickness.
Avatar f tn It is good you stopped the medicine! And there nor ever will be studies for meds during pregnancy! It is against FDA guidelines! As is children! Saline nasal spray will help dry thigns up also but look up wish garden or go to precious arrows midwifery they ahve WIsh Garden and other natural things, even for baby once born!
379229 tn?1208639419 I have had muscle aches, twitching and numbness and tingling in the legs, and sometimes arms and then two days ago, the weirdest foggiest feeling in my head. Flu like symptoms, and lack of sleep. And I have been kind of anxious and depressed. And I am not normally that way. I stopped the Premarin on Wed, and the Nitrofur on Thursday. Am wondering now about the synthroid. I have to call and check. They are blaming this on some weird virus attacking my nervous system that is going around.
Avatar n tn Cough drops are safe and I believe zyrtec is safe I would double check with your doctor about allergy meds. My doctor let me take zyrtec when my allergies got really bad I ended up getting a bad allergy cold one day I took allergy meds the next I would do cough medicine I couldn't tell if it was just allergies or an actual cold and I couldn't take multi symptom cold medicine only one that treated cough only.
5028514 tn?1366828456 So I'm about to effin dye from my allergies. Lol can I take allergy medicine while I'm pregnant? Like cleartin or zyrtec?
Avatar f tn I just found out that I am 6 week pregnant and I am worried because I took ambien, prozac (20 mg), cold medicine, claritin (allergy meds) and I drank a few beers over the holiday. I also had a dental xray. Should I be worried???
Avatar f tn Ok so I'm 12 weeks pregnant and I've always suffered from allergies must of them ro pollen, dust, mold etc...oh and cats too... I've been having really bad episodes of allergies, and I forgot to ask my doctor about it...I know for sure I can't take my regular medicine, but what can I take?? I just put some cold towel on my forhead but it's driving me crazy...help!!!
Avatar f tn Hi! Congratulations! If you were my patient, I would advise you to take the absolute minimum medication that you can get away with during the first trimester especially. BUT having said that, Allegra is pregnancy category C which means that it CAN be used in pregnancy if the benefits out weigh the risks. Hope this helps!
231441 tn?1333892766 Lately I have been having frequent violent sneezing (many times a day), with intermittent running nose and itchy face and trunk. The sneezing and running nose also wake me in the middle of the night, and I have to keep blowing my nose for a while before it settles and I can sleep again. I haven't yet been able to identify clear cause or food trigger (other than peanuts, which recently have started to clearly cause an itch and burning/flushing reaction).
231441 tn?1333892766 re not supposed to take meds during pregnancy, but I am having allergy issues these days (itching and sneezing and sneezing and itching) and having trouble sleeping waking up sneezing and nose like a tap EVERY night. Feels like asthma as well sometimes, but my peak flow is above normal since I got pregnant so maybe it's just in my head!?! I think this is airborne as well as food related, but haven't identified just what.
Avatar f tn I found out I was pregnant at 9 weeks. I haven't had my first appointment yet but my allergies are going crazy. Does anyone know if I'm allowed to take allergy medicine or any kinds I'm supposed to avoid?. Thanks in advance ladies.
Avatar f tn ve tried Zyrtec, Allerex, and another kind of medicine and nothing helps my allergies! I was wondering if you could tell me a allegy medicine that would help? Or do you really just have to stay away from what you are allergic to????
