Allegra d for dogs

Common Questions and Answers about Allegra d for dogs

allegra

One of our most revered faculty members, Lee Archer, MD, a neurologist, provided a copy of the handout he gives to his headache patients. With his permission, I adapted it for use with my own patients. I thought it was so good that I asked him if I could publish it on my blog so that others could benefit from his advice. Headaches are incredibly common and usually frustrating for providers.
I have been taking Flonase and Singulair for over a year. Recently, I was put on Allegra D and I just finished my antibiotic (doxycycline) prescription. I have dogs, but my allergies seem to worsen at work or when I do heavy cleaning and dusting. (I have had dogs for the past 11 years with no problems) I use a vaporizor/humidifier. I keep a clean house. I use a HEPA fan at work and home. I guess I'm just frustrated. I can't make plans in any season without worrying about getting sick.
My doctor put me on Avelox, Allegra D, Symbicort and Prednisone. All of this for 10 days. He also wants me to get the Allergy shots for 6 months and states that I would feel better around then. Is this a waste of money and time or do these shots work? I have had a rough 2007. Never have I had such a problem. I get rid of the sinus problems and they come back within 10 days. I don't want to stay on these meds too long. Any suggestions. I want to do the healthy thing to feel better.

I have been suffering from multiple symptoms throughout my body for years now. When I see a doctor I get told to evaluate what they recommend (behavior, symptoms while trying new diets, etc.) After that time turns, a bad pay check month and can't afford to see the doctor. [Keep being pulled away] I'm just trying to find out a lead of what 2....3 things that may be wrong with me... I am 21 years old. I smoke 15-20 a cigarettes a day. I have moderate allergies to dust, pollen, etc. Asthma.
I have exactly the same problem but I have to add that my voice has change due to this problem. Not significantly, but enough for me to notice. For example, I lost the ability to talk in false voice (like imitating a kid) and I get sore throat by just having a 15 minute conversation. I can't scream because it hurts. I went to an ENT doctor and he didn't insert the scope into my throat but he made the "medical assumption" that my problem is allergies.
The flushes work wonders and the only medications I have to take are flonase and allegra d which does wonders. Not sure why I'm rambling on but I guess my concern is that living with a sinus infection for over 1.5 years - actually almost 2 years - and fluid stuck/compacted in my sinuses, ear tubes, etc... for that long couldn't have been good. I'll have to switch primary care doctors - she's still stuck on anxiety but I don't have any.
Ds is severly allergic to cats, itchy, red swelling eyes, runny nose, asthma attacks. He started allergy shots (3 shots every Friday) for that along with shots for Dogs, 5 different tree pollens, 5 different bees, a wasp, dust mites. Any time he'd go outside and play with one of the barn kitties he'd get sick. And sometimes end up with a sinus infection. He's also on DDAVP for bloody noses, Singulair, Patonal, Flonase, Allegra, Flovent, Albuterol, and topical cream for eczema.
I went to the doctor, he gave me an antibiotic and Allegra D. I have one last Question. Can Asthma make my heart race? What about allergies and stuffu nose.
I had the allergy tests done about 4 years ago which were reactive to mold, grass and there was minimal reaction to dogs. I tried many drugs on the market. Allegra, Claritin, Benadryl... For last 3 years Zyrtec-D was working fine, not great, but tolerable. After what happened on Monday the doctor put me on Prednisone for 5 days, so inflammation definitely goes away , but palpitations are so intense I can barely go 2 flights of stairs, forget jogging.
i saw gave me allegra which you are supposed to take once a day, it relieved the iching for the day. so i had another dr had me try Chlor-Trimeton which i found i did not have to take once a day.. maybe every 3 to 4 days.. if i did not have the Chlor-Trimeton i would scratch my skin so badly it would bleed. and leave nice little round wholes in my skin that would take a long time to heal.. "Work it course" huh!!! If the Chlor-Trimeton stopped working i would just die..
My ear/nose/throat, of course, laughs at this, convinced its my allergies, of which I have an allergy test appointment on Jan 10. All he has told me is to take some Claritin-D (which helped for a few days, but not anymore), cover my bed with hypoallergenic ****, and to wait and find out about my allergies, and then get the allergy shots. I also saw an acupuncturist who worked some magic for about 48 hours as well, but that was all.
After 1 and 1/2 days feel better and pressure is leaving but scared because I know after this 6 days I'll be back to where I was and I'm extremely run down and need to rebuild to fight whatever this is. Scheduled for allergy testing the end of the month. Have always had sinus, but NEVER like this and for SO long. Exhausted. If anyone gets relief please post, as will I.
This is the use of Plaquenil, a drug originally used for malaria. In a recent trial 83% improved or cleared completely when used for three months or more. ref:http://www.aocd.org/skin/dermatologic_diseases/urticaria.html Hope you are better informed about your condition and find it useful.
Went to school in Utah for 5 years and the ENT doctor in Utah told me it was allergies. Gave me Allegra. Helped only a little, still was constant. I read a lot of things online about this subject. Found a lot of information on dairy products causing phlegm. I ceased drinking milk (at the time I drank about 2 gallons a week). Although I couldn't forgo the cheese. Necessity. Phlegm problem went away for the most part. So I attribute 90% of my phlegm to dairy products.
The Flip-Turn Sinus Flush (by friggy) removes infected mucus from every part of your sinuses, which Mayo Clinic research shows is the cure for sinusitis, rather than treating sinus tissue with antibiotics. Regular saline irrigation does not work in the upper sinuses, because of gravity, but the Sinus Flush defeats gravity. It works incredibly well with bacterial and viral infections, and some but not all fungal infections. The Flip-Turn is the original, and still the best Sinus Flush.
Well, that didnt work and finally in August I went to see the doctor again and she referred me to a allergist. The allergist gave me prednisone(steroids), Allegra, Doxepin for the hives, and a acid reducer. None of this has worked and nobody can figure out why i have these hives. I get them all over the place..my scalp, face, arms, legs, feet, ack, chest. My feet and hands get swollen too. Also, somedays when I wake up my lips are swollen. The itching gets worse at night.
I am not taking anything for asthma except for an inhaler at the moment. I am tired of depending on drugs. I know that may sound ignorant but I want to help myself to help itself if you know what I mean.
//www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU238/ItemDetail?n=4294967188 For any pain he might be in, he takes RIMADYL, but only if he's eaten. For his leaky bladder issues he's on PROIN. And to help take the edge off, he's on RECONCILE. My vet says there's a generic (less expensive) version available. If he still can't sleep, he gets a little BENADRYL (Dyphenhydrochloride 25 mg) (the generic version is cheaper) Man, that whining and pacing at night can be pretty crazy making!
Pylori in my stomach, which I took a regimen to treat, which had a good effect. Also, I was lacking Vit D. I regularly take supplements for that; I hear that may also be related to the allergies. Anyways, would you have any advice on how I can stop the constipation from triggering break outs? Thanks!!
I have been having the same problem off and on for a long time and currently for the past 2 weeks. I do not have any bumps under or on the palm but the center of my palm itches all the time. You would think that the doctors would be able to determine what this is. When it gets really bad I take Benadryl and that seems to calm it down a bit but I do not have any know allergies. I hope someone finds out soon.
I've been living on any over the counter sinus pain medicine that will help and I've also been taking Allegra D, which was prescriped by my family doctor. Oddly enough, for whatever is wrong with me, these do help to ease the discomfort a little. The ENT Dr. suggested I go to a Neurologist, a Rheumatologist and a Dentist?! Gee, how helpful is that!? I am NOT interested in seeing those doctors. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here? I am kind of at my wits end!!
I have been on everything you can think of except surgery, such as Allegra, Claritin, Nexuim, Aciphex, Allergy shots for two years, many nasal sprays and etc. Never had any luck with any one or combination of a few. THEY JUST DIDN'T WORK. I was so hopless and thought my life was of low quality due to this untreatable problem. I bothers me all time even in sleep, I could wake up because of mucus' abstructing my airway. NO HOPE, AND NO CURE.
I have had mucous in my throat for over 2 years and cannot clear my throat which my doctor gave me allegra for and kept telling me was sinus problem. I have had pains in my stomach for 15 years and had several g.i.s and was told 6 years ago I had irritable bowel otherwise I would be dead if it was cancer. A year ago my new doctor gave my losec(prilosec) and told me my stomach pains were gerd.
I am so glad and sad at the same time to know I'm not alone. It is currently 6:23 am EST. I have been waking up at 5 am the past few days with a terrible migraine, every single night. The sinus pressure in the back of my nose moves to my left eye my jaw my cheeks neck and ears. The ENT did absolutely nothing but suggest nasal decongestant spray which had the worst rebound congestion which leads to another horrible migraine, and zyrtec D seems to only help w allergy but not this congestion.
The smell is strong. I used to notice it about a half hour after taking my Allegra-D 12 hr. tablets, but now I smell it much more often. Am I going crazy or is there something to this I'm not aware of. Has anyone else experienced this? Please help?
I've been to the ENT 3 times, but not since late last year. I was prescribed Allegra-D and a steroid nasal spray that did not help initially. I then started taking claritin-D and Nasalcrom spray and that seemed to help alleviate my blocked ear/balance issues although I can't go more than a day without taking the meds.
I too suffer from this incredible itching on my hands and when it first started (a few years ago), it went away after a month or so... maybe six weeks. I keep a health journal and then approximately a year later, I noticed the same problem again... this was the second instance of this happening, so I just recorded it as such. It went away after about a month. Next year, same time, same thing.
