Allegra and zantac together

Common Questions and Answers about Allegra and zantac together

allegra

I am currently on allegra and zantac when I first wake up, 2 doxepins mid-morning, two zyrtecs and another zantac after dinner and yet another 2 doxepin at bedtime. The hives are still breaking through despite all of this medicine. Frequently, I wake up with a swollen eye, or a fat lip. I am scared to death and sleep with an epi-pen on my night table. I pray and hope that maybe one day for me, they will just disappear.
Doc put me on Allegra in the morning, Doxepin at night and supposed to start 20mg of Prednisone tomorrow morning. Good luck to all and try to remember, it doesn't matter what they think of your spots, we all have to go through something like this at one point of our lives. Cheers.
I have seen a Dermatologist who says I need to accept the fact that I will not know what is causing the hives and to treat the hives (allegra and zantac) I have seen the Allergist who wants to check for an autoimmune disease which I don't understand because Hashimotos is an autoimmune disease or problem I thought. My thyroid doctor says there is no link between the thyroid and the hives and has taken a leave of abscence from his practice.
singular, atarax,, xyzal, Zyrtec, Allegra, Zantac, nasonex , and a few others I can't spell ) many of which would put most people to sleep. The only downside of Zolair has been missing a dose by any amount over 14 days , the hives come back just as before. I hope her allergy history helps a little,as I know this decision is very hard. But has been well worth it for us.
The dizziness resembled being carsick, with lightheadedness and occasional moments of nausea and feeling faint (but I never passed out). I had a CAT scan and blood work twice, and so far no diagnosis for the dizziness/fatigue. It got better for a few weeks but last week I began to have dizzy spells again, this time accompanied by maxillary sinus pressure. I had just switched allergy medications, from Nasonex to generic Flonase, right at the time my symptoms returned.
My daughter was diagnosed with allergies 07/01/2008 with allergies to mold, cats, dogs, pollen, trees, dust mites, etc. She started with Extendryl, now have added Singulair and today Zantac for welts. Her allergies manifest in her skin. 6 months ago we thought she was austic because she only said 50 words (she turned 3 this September) and now she is much better. Go to a pediatric allergist.
I've been treated with Zantac, Allegra, sporanox and fluocinonide cream and was told to use cooler water when bathing. I use Cetaphil lotion and moisturizing bar to bath but nothing has helped. I've been allergy tested (neg), tested for thyroid disease (neg). I have the symtoms at home and work. I've had the problem for December and the problem just gets worst as the days go by. What do you think could be the problem? I've been to an internest, allergist and dermatologist.
It is 4 a.m. and I am desperately trying to figure out why I continue to break out in hives and have joint pain in my elbows, feet, hands and legs. I too started breaking out in hives after taking the antibotic Solodyn for acne. After a trip to the ER, it was assumed that I had an alergic reaction to the medicine. I stopped taking the medicine after only 3 weeks and needless to say, I am still breaking out in hives and have joint pain. I have been tested for allergies and that was negative.
Zyrtec, Zantac, Prednisone, allegra, etc.........all garbage. Take Elavil and Be Free Again!!!!! -Best of Luck to all, I feel for all of you.
In addition to 4 Epi-pens I carry claritin reditabs, primatene mist, Prednisone, and Benedryl liquid caplets. I also take, daily by prescription, H1 and H2 blockers (Zantac, doxipen, Singular, Claritin x4, & Hydroxizyne), these meds have helped tremendously to keep the episodes down to only a few a year! Keep your head up, it does get better with time, patients, great doctors and great support.
When I woulld get stressed out my acid in my stomach would start to cause my stomach and lower back to hurt and feel like someone was standing and turning my insides. They told me to take to Zantac and go home. For awhile it went away and wasn't as bad then I got pregnant with my second child and it got worse and over the years it has continued to get worse. I have been to many doctors none of witch have ran any test. Two nights ago it got so bad that my husband ran me into the E.R.
After about 2 years and number of doctors, allergists and internal medicine doctors, who put me on zyrtec, zantac, allegra, and singulair, I still was seeing no relief. The steroids worked at first, but when they wear off the symptoms would come right back. I stopped drinking cokes, diet and regular, thinking this may help. I read an article on food additives: http://www.allergy-clinic.co.uk/food_additive_reactions_and_intolerance.
I have been on several rounds of prednisone as well as daily Allegra, Claritin, Zantac 2x daily, and Doxepin 125mg at night and 50mg in the morning. I was hive free for about @ weeks while on high doses of prednisone but hives returned when weaning off of prednisone. I also have gained 45 lbs. in since June due to prednisone. I have started Plaquenil about 3 weeks ago and am hoping things will get better after being on it for a while. They say it takes couple months to help.
I tried benadryl and claritin and those didn't work. Last summer I was on Allegra and it was wonderful for 6 months then stopped working. I just recently started doubling the allergra dose, but it is not working. I am sooo sick of not being able to excercise. I will get in great shape and then I can't work out for weeks and have to start all over again! My doctor told me that certain people react to antihistmines differently than others, so maybe try all.
Hi and welcome to Part 50! Wow part 50. Please make yourself at home. Snuggle down. It'll be a bumpy ride but I know you Tramadol Warrirors can do it!
Regular saline irrigation does not work in the upper sinuses, because of gravity, but the Sinus Flush defeats gravity. It works incredibly well with bacterial and viral infections, and some but not all fungal infections. The Flip-Turn is the original, and still the best Sinus Flush. WARNING! DISCLAIMER! The technique in this manual involves bending over in a hot shower. Obviously, if you bend over in a shower, there is a slight possibility that you can get dizzy and fall down.
It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out. The last one about 2 years ago stopped me breathing in and out completely for 10 to 15 seconds and I thought I had bought it. The spasm cough causes it all and when it goes away (usually 4 to 5 days) things are relatively normal although a normal cough stays with me for weeks after.
Currently I am taking antihistamines- Zyrtec, doxepin, allegra, and zantac on a daily basis and still having problems with swelling. My doctor wants me to go on a low doseage of prednisone (5mg) to take every other day. Are you on any type of medication and have you been checked for any autoimmune diseases? My allergy doctor told me that they may never know why the swelling occures which they call "chronic idiopathic uticaria.
I take a zyrtec and zantac each morning and a allergra and draxapan (sp?) each night. I don't want ot know what would happen if I wasn't taking them. This past week my blood test finally came back with something to follow up on: h. pylori. This is a stomach bacteria and I was actually tested for this back in Nov. when the chest pain started. I am now taking a Prev pack 2X daily for 2 weeks to kill the bacteria. Unfortunaly, the swelling and hives have not subsided.
I have had mucous in my throat for over 2 years and cannot clear my throat which my doctor gave me allegra for and kept telling me was sinus problem. I have had pains in my stomach for 15 years and had several g.i.s and was told 6 years ago I had irritable bowel otherwise I would be dead if it was cancer. A year ago my new doctor gave my losec(prilosec) and told me my stomach pains were gerd.
i recently began to break out in hives nightly when i evaluated all of my foods i thought i was allergic to fish/shellfish eliminated those and finally realized that I was allergic to the blue dye in my thyroid medication levoxyl i changed meds and my m.d. put me on allegra and i haven't had hives since check the labels on all of your medications and food to see if food dyes are a possible culprit.
I am over 50, and am on a arthritis med, so I can't take Aleve. Allegra, I am not sure about. I am thinking it has something to do with the heart and it's problems and this is a way of sending messages thru your hands. Crazy? Maybe, but I would really like to find a cure, without costing me a zillion dollars on tests.
He thought Nexium 40mg bid was too much and he also tested me and I am producing too much histamine (did the scratch test) so he now has me on Allegra 180mg in the AM and 1 Nexium 40mg at night and claritin 10 mg before bed. We'll see how that goes. Thanks.
I've always had hives since I was a little girl, but I've never gotten it for this long. I've had it for more than a month and have tried every single medicine. Allegra, Singulair, Claritin, Benadryl, Cortizone shot, other oral steroids, acid reflux medicines which are supposed to have anti-histamines, anxiety pills, depression pills, NOTHING IS WORKING!!!!!!!! I've even tried herbal stuff, homoepathic medicines too, and they just don't want to go away.
and doc prescribed saline rinses, a humidifyer for bedroom, spraying Nasonex in my nose at night and continuing on Zantac 75. So far (2 mos.) symtoms still the same. He poo-poos food allergies, but that is the next thing I am going to try if this current regimen does not result in improvement over next 2 mos. Best wishes to you.
2 years ago they put me on zantac, then prilosec. I have had every test put the down the throat scope, and its gotten so bad now that I cant lay on my side at all anymore. I get short of breath, then anxiety hits. Now I get nauseated. My doctor and my family all think Im just crazy. last week I was talking through an episode with a crisis counselor, for anxiety, and ended up with them calling an ambulance because they were sure I was having a heart attack instead.
we started him on benadryl and calamine lotiong, not relief so the Doctor gave him allegra and cortisone, no relief. Then the dermatologist gave him a shot of kenalog, and prescription cortisone. still no relief after two emergency room visits they gave him hydroxine and blood workups for kidney, liver, and thyroid came back normal. then the allergist said his bloodwork for allergies is normal too. she put him on zyrtec and two hydroxine at night so the kid can maybe get some sleep..
I have been perscribed the combination of Zyrtec, Betamethasone Dipropionate lotion, Fluocinonide cream, Atarax, Zantac 300, Prednisone, Doxepin, Allegra, Singulair, and Celebrex in order to provide relief. I could get full on the amount of pills I take for breakfast each day just to provide some relief. I purchased a bunch of Victoria Secret Very Sexy Push-up Bras just before the rash developed (but will never wear Victoria Secret products again).
I too get this....just another to add to the long list of poor souls cursed by this unknown infection i guess u could call it. I seem to get it when there is some type of stress to the body. Or so i believe anyway. I need to start writing all i remember the few days before i feel it coming on. I dont know if anyone else can, but i def know when its coming. At first it usually gets very irritated, itchy and tingly with a slight burning sensation.
Thanks to Duchess47, Wepst and JDanMan for your comments and suggestions. I will seriously look into all of your suggestions and hope that it's just some seasonal allergy thing. Thanks again.
