This December I had a tiny, flesh colored flat wart on my outerr vaginal lip. My doctor prescribed me a 24 pack of Aldara cream. Afetr about a week of using the cream I called him and aske him if I could stop using the cream or do I need to finish it all. He told me to finish using until all gone. I continued using the cream and around the second week of using i developed a sever rash. They were bumps that were really red and itchy.
What? are you applying Aldara on entire genital area? aldara is to be applied on the warts only and not the surrounding area... did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream...
I am in a similar situation. I used the aldara cream, it got rid of my wart without causing major side effects, but I broke out into a red rash about a week after i stopped using it. the rash started on the area where i was using the aldara and then spread to surrounding areas. it doesn't hurt that much and I don't have any blisters or sores or anything but it does itch a little and feel irritated.
ive been using aldara cream for 3 weeks 3x a day. my o.b says that aldara is very strong enough to cause some common side effects. ANd speaking of aldara mean time i let my vagina rest for a while because of some side effects which causes my skin to break likewise itching. she also pointed out that treating gw may take longer period. hope that i can overcome this health problem.
Hi. I used Aldara for two weeks and my warts went away. I didn't have to scratch or scrape. I don't think you should puncture them at all. The cream caused some severe skin reactions for me (and it was on my bum :( ) so I stopped using it two weeks in for about a week and then when I went to start applying the cream again the warts were gone.
The doctor called it vulvar dysplasia, and he prescribed aldara cream 3 times a week because he said that since there are so many a laser would be very painful and that we should try to remove some with aldara first. I have a few questions about using aldara. 1) is it harmful to shave on off days from using aldara? 2) Can shaving make the warts worse? 3) Is sex okay when the cream is not on the skin?

The areas that have crusted and flaked are red and raw. Do i continue putting the aldara on those regions or should i stop? The cream does not bother me and the rawness is by no means unbearable or even that aggravating. I just genuinely don't know when enough is enough.
3. I have read that the aldara can cause permanent skin discoloration and i was wondering if there is any way i can mitigate the chances of that happening by applying vitamin E oil or neosporin to the affected area.
It will go away and heal once you stop using it. That stuff works just keep using it. I used it and it burned like Hell but guess what I haven't seen a wart in 5 years. It was called aldara what I used. I think that's what you are talking about.
I really thought I was a healthy person until these bumps showed up! You can masturbate whenever you want, with it on or off the skin, it won't interfere. Do not have sex when Aldara cream is on the skin. Keep in mind it can also weaken diaphragms and condoms. The Aldara website (aldara.com) has a lot of good information about the drug, and what to expect/avoid.
hey im a 21 yr old male. i have been using aldara one two very small genital warts (applying as little as possible with a toothpick). anyways despite best efforts the cream has gotten on other parts of my skin near the warts and has almost bleached it white... I have decided to stop using it for this reason even though the warts are not completely gone (i hate aldara now).
there was no obvious abnormality but after using cream(s) kniwn to poke hpv induced dysplastic cells(eg wart) there was dramatic reaction
You can test if its really wart or hpv induced abnormality by using veregen cream...or aldara ( i made home made veregen like cream..as veregen itself is dead expensive or u might not get the prescp) Warts or abnormal cells fr hpv infection will react to aldara or veregen
A word of caution...if it really is hpv induced wart or dysplastic cells..
Hi all. I am a 32 yr old female and was diagnosed with vaginal warts two weeks ago. I have only slept with two people in my life so I know who gave it to me. I am sad and depressed because my ob made me feel like a **** and didn't really say anything except that I shouldn't have slept around and that I shouldn't have sex ever again. She subscribed aldara .5% cream and in have been using this med for a week now.
They have taken a sample of the sore for culture and blood and have said it would take a week. The sore is not on the wart itself but close to it where the cream did get applied. I would use the entire packet and spread the cream to surrounding areas and sometimes would take a late shower on the weekend and so it would stay longer. The doctor said that if it was Aldara side effects then it would have happened on the wart itself too.
My 8-year-old daughter has had flat warts on her face for nearly two years now. They do not seem to be improving, in fact, they seem to have spread. I recently got diagnosed with HPV, I am 23 male. I started applying the cream every other day over the entire genital area. I applied it an the anus as well and now it is killing me! Only one spot at the part of my anus closest to the testis. It got all swollen and seems to have a sore on it, looks like a hemorrhoid to me, but I dint know why I would have one! As if HPV didnt make me feel crappy enough, lol. Has anyone had any similar experience with aldara on the butthole, or anywhere?
1. Should I wait and try Aldara Cream or just do the laser treatment, knowing that I didn't do any screening test?2. Can the genital warts get more spread after laser treatment since is in early stages of warts?
3. In future can Genital warts be cleared from my body and be able to get married with kids?
4. Is Co2 Laser Treatment is the best wart removal option?

1) If the irritated areas were in fact Aldara acting on a wart would that be grounds to "reset the clock" and start counting to 6 months from 0?
2) This third bump where I once had a wart...if it has been there as long as 6 months (or at least the 4 I thought I was wart free) but just picked off, is this grounds for "starting the 6 month clock" again?
After 5 attempts at treatment with that doctor, I went to a different dermatologist who prescribed Aldara (which is usually for treating genital warts) and after using this cream for 2 weeks, there is NO improvement or even any indication that the cream is doing anything to "stimulate" my body to fight off the so-called wart. This new Dr seemed to think it looked more serious than a wart, but he reviewed the biopsy reports and concluded that it must be a wart.
I have been using Aldara (Imiquimod 5%) cream to treat genital warts for 10 weeks and I still have warts. How long does it usually take to treat warts and what should I notice if I am getting better? I am suppose to be finished the treatment in 2 weeks. Should all the warts be gone by the time I finish treatment?
