Aldara vs condylox

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara vs condylox

aldara

Avatar m tn ve only had my first breakout and I was given condylox gel. It works like magic...except it burns if you aren't careful with it. I also use tea tree oil soap, you can find it at a healthfood store. I have also heard that you in order for the warts (not the virus) to go away you need to keep your immune system up so eat lots of fruits and vegetables and take vitamin c. I'm not sure if it works but I use it every day just in case! Keep praying! Good luck.
Avatar f tn However the warts that were still present in the inside of my vagina were treated at the obgyn with Trichloracetic acid because the aldara was not working for me at all.
1306047 tn?1333243591 Greetings, I don't come around here much any more, but two/three years ago I was quite active on this forum. Recently I may have had another outbreak after 2 1/2 years without. Doctor gave me Aldara. Thought I'd pass my thoughts along. I've had warts burned off with nitrogen and cauterized as well. Aldara doesn't seem to be an alternative to me. First, you have to apply three nights a week for three months.
Avatar n tn My doctor prescribed condylox, but they are to small to keep the gel on the affected area only all five are barely visible bye eye) . I have talked to several docs some use cryo but I have not found any that use laser. None even brought up imiquimod which I learned about online and feel that it might be best in my situation. It seems they prescribe whatever they are familiar with. Also a transmission question.
Avatar f tn t develop the warts until august 2008 and I am still having outbreaks while I have been using treatments such as TCA, aldara, podofilox solution and lastly condylox gel I am hoping that this is my last outbreak being treated with condylox and hope that I don't experience another outbreak in 2 weeks because my outbreaks come once a month. I would like to know could the outbreaks be from the fire my father death things of that nature play a part and tends to weaken the immune system.
Avatar m tn m dealing with something other than HPV? Aldara and freezing have both been largely ineffective; Condylox has been moderately effective but quite painful.
Avatar m tn Many options are available though, from cryotherapy (freezing), electrocautery (burning), TCA (acid), surgical methods (cutting, laser, etc.), and at home creams such as condylox and aldara. Only your doctor will be able to recommend what method is right for you. I'd see a doctor and find out what these bumps really are once and for all, since it sounds like you've let them go awhile and they haven't been officially diagnosed. Perhaps this is HPV, perhaps it isn't.
Avatar n tn several times and tried many treatments such as two boxes (24 sachets) of (Aldara 5% Cream) using it on MWF with no improvments. I also tried Locacid Solution and sometimes electirc burning, drinking Zinc,etc.. and there was no improvments as well.. An advice would be highly appreciated! Avatar f tn Hello, For small warts several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts.Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation.
Avatar m tn It all depends on the treatment selected and your pain tolerance. Treatment tends to be more uncomfortable than truly painful. It's definitely advisable to get them removed though. If you go to a free clinic (such as planned parenthood) chances are they'll use cheaper methods like cryotherapy, aldara or condylox cream. These procedures aren't typically as painful as some surgical options. Have you seen a doctor yet to officially diagnose your genital warts?
Avatar n tn since your wart is at not a easy to reach place, i would suggest you to use aldara or podophyllotoxin trade name wartec, condylox, or podofilox, if you want to treat it at your own... Please discuss with your doctor about which option is good for you...
Avatar m tn I've been diagnosed with genital warts. I tried condylox and that burnt the genital warts off (most pain I've ever felt) but they came right back. I dont' have money for a doctor so are there any home remedies or over the counter products someone could recommend? If not, what else should I ask the doctor to do? I want to use the highest percentage method of them not returning the next dang day. I have 7 total. some are extremely tiny dots but 4 are very large and noticeable.
Avatar m tn Imiquimod (Aldara, Zyclara), Podophyllin and podofilox (Condylox) - should be administered by a doctor. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA)- must be applied by a doctor. Surgery: Freezing with liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy) , Electrocautery, Surgical excision and Laser treatments. Use a condom while having intercourse.
Avatar f tn for treatment. At that visit he found about 5 tiny ones and treated them all with acid. He also gave me aldara and condylox to use at home. I had no trouble getting rid of them (the acid works best and is fastest) but then, of course, a couple more appeared. To sum it up, I get a couple, treat them, and then a couple more will pop up. I've only been clear once for two weeks. I understand that at some point, hopefully, my immune system will kick in and suppress the virus.
4437866 tn?1388119624 Sorry to hear bout what you been going through. I myself have warts as well and still treating it with aldara for 3x a day, but since you're pregnant, i dont know if it's advisable for you to use it since aldara is a strong treatment for genital warts. Have you tried to go to another doctor for second opinion since your doctor doesn't want to take action for it?
Avatar m tn I have had all visible warts frozen off 8-9 times this past year and they keep coming back. I have completed 2 courses of therapy on Aldara and that just seemed to make the warts grow faster. I have used salicylic acid, 4 weeks of duct tape occulsion therapy and have started regularly taking echinacea to boost my immune system. The duct tape therapy seemed to slow/stop growth but did not get rid of existing lesions.
Avatar f tn You can speed up the treatment by freezing them off with liquid nitrogen (at the doctors office, with full healing in about two weeks), or he might use a blister bug extract to blister them off (youll heal up in about 2 weeks), or he might prescribe Aldara cream or Condylox cream to apply to them (4 to 16 weeks to get rid of them this way). He will get recurrances of the warts until his body mounts a sufficient immune response, over several months, to prevent future warts from appearing.
Avatar n tn Yes you will but the virus can be controlled by using medications such as aldara cream, condylox gel, podifilox when warts are present those medications can be prescribed by your doctor.
Avatar n tn t look anything like the pics. The apple cider vinager is applied to the warts. i never used it tho..I used aldara.
Avatar m tn She started me on Aldara which is terrible but somewhat bearable. I take frequent breaks between applications because I can get so sensitive from it. The last time I used it (about 3 weeks ago now) I had (what I thought) to be a terrible reaction to Aldara: I had a low grade fever, nausea, dizziness, and many open ulcers that formed "down there". I cried and dreaded every time I had to urinate because it hurt so badly.
Avatar m tn Other thoughts on treatment (Aldara just burned my skin as I had a pretty bad reaction -- but would try again)? Are there immune system supplements that I should take (vitamins, etc,)?
Avatar m tn Welcome to the STD forum. Thanks for reading the forum for similar discussions before asking your questions. 1) There are no definitive data. But I am unaware of perment warts that never clear. My guess is that 90+% clear within 24 months and I doubt any last more than 4-5 years. 2) This may happen, but is rare. My guess is under 1% of affected persons. 3) All warts can be cleared up in the short term.
Avatar m tn If you are in your 20s or younger and don't have HIV....Aldara will probably cure the virus within a few months (whether it's HPV or molluscum contagiousum) I doubt you have a skin tag on your penis. HPV is very common just use the meds and get rid of it while you still stand a chance. HPV turns into carcinoma (cancer). Yep. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Just use the meds.
Avatar m tn Hi I am a 30 year old male who was diagnosed with genital warts 3 years ago. The warts never resembled what I have seen in the internet and I have got various opinions some have said they are warts some have said they are not! I have had many cryo treatments on these lumps and even self treated with over the counter stuff.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever used condylox and know if 1) it actually works, (I've heard good things) and 2) how much does it cost/will insurance cover the prescription?? Thanks for you help!
Avatar n tn I used condylox, aldara, had them burnt off, and frozen. I got some skin that looked suspect biopsied about 3 months ago by the dermotologist and it came back negative for hpv. However, there is an area of skin about a half inch away from that he didn't test that looked like it could be a wart. From looking at it, he thought that it was just a scar from all the treatment I've used in that area and didn't seem to think a biopsy on it was necessary.
