Aldara treatment plantar warts

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara treatment plantar warts

aldara

Avatar n tn So my doctor was about to cut them off, when I brought up the Candida antigen which is injected into common warts, plantar warts, etc as intralesional immunotherapy. She thought it was a great idea and we should try it. The injection was yesterday and by the end of the day yesterday the large warts were physically smaller, the smaller ones were disappearing. I'm shocked at how quickly results seem to be occurring.
535760 tn?1213891166 I found using Aldara to clear up the majority of warts, and then using a different treatment (such as cryo) to clear any remaining warts seemed to be effective. I used a combination of TCA and Aldara, and have been wart free for a month now (took 3 months to entirely clear). Aldara has some discomfort associated with it, but I found it less painful than TCA (though much more itchy!). Any treatment for genital warts is uncomfortable though.
Avatar f tn Would it help to stop a weekly podo treatment and let the warts develop then get electrocautery performed again? Perhaps last time was too early in the infectious stage. 4.What's the average time between infection and warts start clearing up? Thank you for your time.
736128 tn?1232158671 There are many forms of treatment for plantar and other warts. Some warts, including plantar warts, disappear without treatment. Home treatments include salicylic acid and tape occlusion. A doctor can also prescribe prescription or over-the-counter medications to help heal plantar warts. A physician can also use an electrical current to burn a wart or laser surgery. Cryotherapy involves using a freezing liquid to dissolve a wart.
Avatar m tn Are you sure they were plantar warts, instead of "normal" warts? I tried the Compound W liquid application route myself, for about 12 weeks. I was pretty good about following the instructions. However, at the end of that time (as recommended on the label), I still had the warts. Perhaps they were slightly smaller, or hadn't grown during the treatment, but I was pretty bummed that it didn't get rid of them. I may try the pads instead.....
Avatar n tn The problem here to me is not entirely the warts, but after ending the aldara treatment i am experiencing redness around the areas of treatment and also other areas. The redness looks to be spreading like spots differing in size. I have had protected sex twice in the last couple of months and i am worried about STD's. Could this be a primary herpes outbreak or is it normal for the skin to react this way after ending aldara treatment?
Avatar n tn I noticed small warts on my penis about 1 month ago..doctor prescribed aldara...since then I've had about 10 more grow out..what the hell is up with this crappy *** drug they prescribe to patients??? I took all the STD tests and came out negative...
Avatar m tn Just started a treatment of Aldara today. I always seem to have a few small genital warts on me. Does anyone know what I can expect. I am 31 and healthy in every way. I have been receiving cryotherapy for 3 years and they always come back. I was told that Aldara will help get my immune system involved in fighting the virus so I will have a better chance of losing the warts. Has anyone out there used thus treatment ?
Avatar n tn I'm a healthy 21-year old female. My fiance and I lost our virginity to one another three years ago and have been sexually exclusive with one another ever since. My regular MD felt I should wait until age 21 to have my first pap smear, so all routine physicals have been through her. Nothing has come up irregular. This week I had my first pap smear. My doctor delivered the news that she "thinks" I have genital warts.
Avatar m tn later you should start the application but only on the warts, visible ones only... do not put aldara on bumps you just think can be warts... you should seek a doctors advice to confirm if those are warts...
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum. Your dermatologist has much more experience using imiquimod (Aldara) than I do. We don't use it as the main warts treatment in our STD clinic and I have personally treated very few patients with it. Please confirm my replies with your dermatologist. 1) The research studies with imiquimod applied it only to overt, visible warts.

Avatar n tn t resolve over this period that is not a sign that something bad is going to happen however). That you have warts continuing to appear while receiving Aldara treatment is also unusual. If I were you, I would seek the input and care of a dermatologist at this time. Perhaps what you are treating are not warts.
2206935 tn?1373638605 No one treatment is better than another. People react differently to each type of method used. Your doctor may try to use liquid nitrogen and freeze your warts. I do not recommend surgery. Your warts will resolve eventually on their own anyway, be patient.
Avatar f tn t resolve with trichloroacetic acid, my guess is that they are not active warts -- maybe skin tags or simply hypertrophic (overgrown) tissue -- a form of scar -- where the warts used to be. If skin tags, the imiquimod (Aldara) will have no effect away. If warts, they'll eventually clear up -- either from the treatment, or on their own. And it sounds like your gynecologist was uncertain.
Avatar m tn http://www.dermnet.com/images/Warts-Plantar/picture/10059 The above looked exactly like the clustered abnormal cells i had, but mine was clearly havind round rings, as the egcg cream gave a chocolate color contrast to the abnormal wart. Its gruesome. Mayb i will try n post pic. Of note, the interesting part is that, it seems plantar wart can hide in genitals areas? And only become obvious upon stimulation?
Avatar n tn im doing it when i get back to the states...ive gone the aldara treatment twice now and ive had a horrible last 4 months, side affects and warts still present. cyro them *******!
Avatar m tn plantar warts can go under the skin.....may have to cut that out!
Avatar f tn I have very painful plantar warts at both feet for many years. I tried everything to get rid of them, nothing worked. Finally I had them digged out by a surgeon. It was a horrible procedure, it bleeded a lot and I had extreme pain for more than two weeks. They all came back, deeper and much more painful than before. Standing and walking on them is hellishly painful and after half an hour the pain is unbearable.
Avatar m tn As the treatment with aldara is over and I still have the pimples and THEY LOOK AND FEEL VERY MUCH LIKE WARTS (I have been browsing the net and looking at some pics) I wonder whether it is worth consulting another physician, going back to the same physician (as he asked) or keep applying aldara. I wonder whether the pimples are really warts. I would like to hear you medical insights. Here are some pics: http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/7070/21092008232lc9.jpg http://img146.imageshack.
Avatar m tn Hi i was diagnosed with Anal warts and was prescribed with Aldara. My doctor didnt really elaborate on how many times i should apply it but i did 2x per week (mon and friday) since its too expensive! this was my before treatment pic http://s3.amazonaws.com/medhelp_images/user_photos/277373?1339513577 and this is my 1st week treatment http://s3.amazonaws.com/medhelp_images/user_photos/277374?
Avatar f tn Aldara Cream should be applied 3 times per week to external genital/perianal warts. Aldara Cream treatment should continue until there is total clearance of the genital/perianal warts or for a maximum of 16 weeks." https://www.rxlist.com/aldara-drug.htm#dosage If you decide to use it, please clarify that you understand the instructions, because 3 times a day is VERY different than 3 times a week.
