Aldara treatment for warts

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara treatment for warts

aldara

Avatar m tn Just started a treatment of Aldara today. I always seem to have a few small genital warts on me. Does anyone know what I can expect. I am 31 and healthy in every way. I have been receiving cryotherapy for 3 years and they always come back. I was told that Aldara will help get my immune system involved in fighting the virus so I will have a better chance of losing the warts. Has anyone out there used thus treatment ?
Avatar n tn the best thing i can tell u to do is see your dermatologist b/c there are other ways for the warts to be treated then with aldara and i havent seen them for bout 2 yrs now
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum. Your dermatologist has much more experience using imiquimod (Aldara) than I do. We don't use it as the main warts treatment in our STD clinic and I have personally treated very few patients with it. Please confirm my replies with your dermatologist. 1) The research studies with imiquimod applied it only to overt, visible warts.
535760 tn?1213891166 Aldara has some discomfort associated with it, but I found it less painful than TCA (though much more itchy!). Any treatment for genital warts is uncomfortable though. The treatment has to be irritating to the skin to destroy the warts, nothing less gentle would be effective.
Avatar m tn 1. Should I wait and try Aldara Cream or just do the laser treatment, knowing that I didn't do any screening test?2. Can the genital warts get more spread after laser treatment since is in early stages of warts? 3. In future can Genital warts be cleared from my body and be able to get married with kids? 4. Is Co2 Laser Treatment is the best wart removal option? Hope to have suitable answers from you. Thanks in return.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed aldara about 4 weeks ago but was not able to use it continuously because I also get the doctor to put podophilin on the warts when they are visible and that sometimes cause the irritation of the area, hence, I had to stop aldara for a few times already when that happened. I had my Pap Smear done 2 weeks ago and the test result was negative. I also had Gardasil vaccination last week. My questions are: 1. My gyno confirms that I don't have any warts inside my vagina.
Avatar n tn Do u know homeopathy has good result in removing these warts but one has to have patience for the treatment. Even I found n article under home remedies to remove wart by ginger. Make the ginger pointed like a pencil lead n then rubbing the wart will remove the wart. N this is pure herbal method n it heals after 2 to 3 days . U can try it n tell if u get success removing those warts. Plz reply.
Avatar n tn Hi. I used Aldara for two weeks and my warts went away. I didn't have to scratch or scrape. I don't think you should puncture them at all. The cream caused some severe skin reactions for me (and it was on my bum :( ) so I stopped using it two weeks in for about a week and then when I went to start applying the cream again the warts were gone.
Avatar n tn He reccomended me to a dermatologist for the treatment of the HPV. The problem here to me is not entirely the warts, but after ending the aldara treatment i am experiencing redness around the areas of treatment and also other areas. The redness looks to be spreading like spots differing in size. I have had protected sex twice in the last couple of months and i am worried about STD's.
Avatar m tn I have been using aldara for about a month on my genital warts and have had no burning or tenderness that I have heard people talk about on these forums. It has been working great and I am noticing my warts are starting to shrink. The other morning after using my aldara cream overnight I noticed a lump under my skin where I applied some aldara. It is very tender to touch and very noticeable.
Avatar m tn Google diet for immune system and warts. I know A and E are good for warts, C, multi and fish oil are good for immune. Green tea is good for cell but I can't drink it because of thyroid issues but white tea is ok. A natural vit store is a great place to find out ways to treat warts/immune system. They often have books, a computer to find info and sales people who have loads of info in their heads.
Avatar m tn aldara is to be applied on the warts only and not the surrounding area... did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream... you should apply petrolium jelly (vaseline) or some other moisturizer to help your pain relief and...
Avatar n tn Hi, Aldara is iquimod and has been approved by FDA for use in superficial basal cell carcinoma and external genital warts only. Not recommended for use in case of hemorrhoids. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar n tn t resolve over this period that is not a sign that something bad is going to happen however). That you have warts continuing to appear while receiving Aldara treatment is also unusual. If I were you, I would seek the input and care of a dermatologist at this time. Perhaps what you are treating are not warts.
Avatar m tn Well they gave me a prescription for a 24 pack of aldara but i went to get it and the pharmacists were charging me $600+ for it. That is way out of my budget i was willing to spend 300 on it. The nurse told me it would be around 300 and i have no insurance. So pretty much i am just asking what would be the best way to go about removing all these tiny warts and the one bigger lesion one?
2206935 tn?1373638605 No one treatment is better than another. People react differently to each type of method used. Your doctor may try to use liquid nitrogen and freeze your warts. I do not recommend surgery. Your warts will resolve eventually on their own anyway, be patient.
Avatar f tn Hey Doc, I was diagnosed with Low Risk HPV(Genital Warts back in April, I had them treated with 4 treatments of Trichloric Acid, and just last week my gyno decided to stop the acid treatments and gave me a prescription for Aldara(I still have a couple area's that are not cleared up). During the time that I was getting the Acid Treatments my gyno told me not to have sex. She repeated this before I left at my last visit when she gave me the prescription...
Avatar f tn However the warts that were still present in the inside of my vagina were treated at the obgyn with Trichloracetic acid because the aldara was not working for me at all.
Avatar n tn Have your doctor freeze them. Only hurts for a little while and gone completely in about 3 days. Quick and Easy. After contracted the warts can show up anywhere. Skin to skin contact is how this is contracted. Regarding Pregnancy you should speak to your doctor about this . How long have you had this?
Avatar f tn IFN creams - a very common one is called Aldara in the US, might be known as other things elsewhere - are usually used for spot treatment on visible warts. Also, these are the instructions for Aldara: "Aldara Cream should be applied 3 times per week to external genital/perianal warts. Aldara Cream treatment should continue until there is total clearance of the genital/perianal warts or for a maximum of 16 weeks." https://www.rxlist.com/aldara-drug.
Avatar m tn once a day for 3 days a week until all the warts are healed.
Avatar f tn I already went to the doctor and it is genital warts, prescribed me aldara for it. My boyfriend and me broke up after i told him about my gw so I wont be having sex longer than the average waiting time. Thanks for the insight, its very helpful.
Avatar m tn Probably you have warts and nothing else, and the white spots in your mouth are something else entirely -- maybe not abnormal at all. When you visit a clinic for your anal warts, tell them about your other symptoms and ask the same questions. Most likely you will find there is no other STD problem. I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn 1. Two days subsequent to the biopsy, additonal warts appeared as pink/white bumps to either side of the biopsy site. Is it possible that the biopsy spread the infection? 2. My next appointment is a week-and-a-half away. My concern is that the new warts that have shown up will grow and spread without immediate, aggressive treatment. I have little faith in the Aldara to keep the warts in check given all that I have read.
