The patch of lesions is located on the shaft of my penis, are small, relatively flat, and 1-2 cm in size. I started aldara therapy roughly two to three weeks after onset of lesions. My only concern is that the Aldera isn't triggering an immune response like it should. I have no erythema, edema or any other typical "side effects". The warts appear to be somewhat diminished but I'm not sure if it's just wishful thinking or actual results.

They are very small but many clustered with a few random ones on the lower part of my penis that popped up as recently as this week. The brownish material was most likely podophyllin which is a commonly used, effective therapy for genital warts. I would not use the Aldara the next day as both the podophyllin and the Aldara cause inflammation and the two together might be uncomforrable. I'd wait for a week, just as the doctor has suggested.

i only recently realized i have this and it may have been present for up to five years now without going away on its own. aldara seems to have only made things worse. since the use of aldara the warts have doubled in size whereas before they seem to have stayed at a pretty static size until i recognized them. i am seeking a candida injection to stimulate the immune system to recognize the hpv. how successful has this therapy been in your experience?

1. Aldara is effective an perhaps slightly better than other topical medications for HPV therapy. It also works for a variety of other skin conditions. 2. If you want to be absolutely sure you are not infectious for partners we would recommend treatment. If there is not a recurrence in 3 months following resolution of lesions, there is no further risk for transmission of infection. 3. Without therapy HPV does go away, meaning that the body's immune response controls the infection.

but since yours are internal, normal treatments like Aldara or other HPV topical treatments may be ineffective. The best thing to do would be to schedule an appointment with a proctologist and request for cryo, laser, or leep therapy to remove them. After that, you'll need to have annual anal pap smears to ensure that the cells in your anus do not undergo dysplasia...thus putting you at risk for anal cancer.

and after 2 weeks use i have had good results so far so if i were you i would go see your dermatologist if he recomends surgery set the date for about 1 1/2 months away and get them to prescribe you aldara in the meantime. use aldara and within 4 weeks if the warts have not reduced in size or started to clear then just go in for surgery.

I used aldara with great success. However, I have read it has a higher success rate in females than males. Still, I do not know how credible this information exactly is. I found using Aldara to clear up the majority of warts, and then using a different treatment (such as cryo) to clear any remaining warts seemed to be effective. I used a combination of TCA and Aldara, and have been wart free for a month now (took 3 months to entirely clear).

We show that isostearic acid, a major component of the vehicle, promotes inflammasome activation in cultured keratinocytes, and so may contribute to the observed effects of Aldara on murine skin. Aldara therefore stimulates at least two immune pathways independently, and both imiquimod and vehicle are required for a full inflammatory response. What? are you applying Aldara on entire genital area? aldara is to be applied on the warts only and not the surrounding area... did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream...

dont use aldara. I think ACV even does better than aldara although some people here would disagree with my opinion. You can get mini surgery like electrocauterization, cryotherapy, or use podofin and its variants. These three, afaik, are better than anything else to treat warts.

hi there i have recently been using aldara cream for my anal warts (HPV) I have used it twice so far friday and monday. And today (tuesday) i have been feeling muscle pain, and i guess some kind of fever i feel cold or hot at various times of the day but i can function... but during the weekend i did play soccer and hockey and did sweat a lot and ran a lot.

I have a few questions about using aldara. 1) is it harmful to shave on off days from using aldara? 2) Can shaving make the warts worse? 3) Is sex okay when the cream is not on the skin? Thank you!

Hi. I used Aldara for two weeks and my warts went away. I didn't have to scratch or scrape. I don't think you should puncture them at all. The cream caused some severe skin reactions for me (and it was on my bum :( ) so I stopped using it two weeks in for about a week and then when I went to start applying the cream again the warts were gone.

I went to the doctor, and they gave me Aldara for HPV. This was in January. Since then, I have had the worst yeast infections, and while one bump is slowly decreasing in size (and has hardened and turned quite red in the process), none of the others are changing size at all, and I am getting more tiny little white bumps within a few inches of the initial three bumps I had. I am pretty sure it is HPV, but it seems to be geting worse. I have been tested recently for HIV, and that was negative...

I applied aldara (imiquimod) to the shaft of the penis in an attempt to get rid of what I presumed were penile warts. About a week after use, I developed well localised red and swollen skin on the head of the penis which then ulcertated and has been slow to heal. I have not been herpes positive before and dont think I have had recent contact with any herpes positive partners.

Im a 19 year old male and i was diagnosed with Molluscum Contagiosum about 5 months ago on my genitals. I used Aldara cream which got rid of most of them and im basically clear of them however now on the shaft of my penis there is a spot where the skin is very raw looking. i put polysporin on it to help it heal. However the warts that were still present in the inside of my vagina were treated at the obgyn with Trichloracetic acid because the aldara was not working for me at all.

t have a big quantity but I can notice that every month a new one comes out. They told me to treat them with a medication called Aldara, but it is very expensive, so I bought a generic medication from India, which is called Imiquad manufactured by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. I am using it 3x a week. I know the treatment is slow and that I am not going to have fast results at all. But my concern is, is there any way to prevent new warts from coming out?
