I've been using Aldara for over two weeks now and am experiencing absolutely no side effects at all. Now I'm not disappointed believe me, but the one and only nice thing about side effects is that they indicate that whatever you are using is not "working" per-se but that it's doing *something*. Is this normal? Also, my doctor did a pretty deep freeze of the warts before sending me home with Aldara.

The doctor said that if it was Aldara side effects then it would have happened on the wart itself too. But the area effected was the pink skin near the head of the penis whereas the wart is on the darker skin on the shaft. So I am thinking maybe the part on the head was more sensitive. Is it possible this is a Aldara side effect. Last time I was sexually active was 2 months ago just about the time I started Aldara. I was with her for 4 months.

t have to and I just want to know if anyone else has had these side effects from Aldara where they were told they may have herpes. I have never had any other STd's in my life. I get tested often and so does my boyfriend and he's never had anything either. I just need some type of reassurance because i have to wait a whole week to find out if I have herpes.

I was prescribed aldara for the treatment of genital warts about two weeks ago and have used it as directed by my provider. The patch of lesions is located on the shaft of my penis, are small, relatively flat, and 1-2 cm in size. I started aldara therapy roughly two to three weeks after onset of lesions. My only concern is that the Aldera isn't triggering an immune response like it should. I have no erythema, edema or any other typical "side effects".

and a heads up at first when i used aldara i had bad side effects such as feeling sick tired, some body aches and severe itching to the point where i said in my mind i have to quit because i got absolutley no sleep on the nights i used aldara. people have said to discontinue aldara but i stayed with it.

a little opver a week now and I am not noticing any side effects or good effects of the Aldara. Maybe i have seen some warts get smaller, but it is hard to notice. When should expect some results?

Yes it is and you can get blisters and sores too and flu like symtoms and accing bones, look at the handout that comes with the cream, it has an extensive list of the side effects of the cream, trust me, i got them all. Best of luck.

Hello, I'm a male, 26yrs old. Can anyone describe their experiences with Imiquimod? I am on the 3.75% cream which my doctor has told me to use every other day for a month. In the first 2 weeks, nothing happened, only just a couple days ago I noticed a very slight indication that the medication might be working, but I'm still not sure. I have about 20-30 very small warts, and notice 2 or 3 of them showing a bit of redness and drying up a bit.

I used the aldara cream, it got rid of my wart without causing major side effects, but I broke out into a red rash about a week after i stopped using it. the rash started on the area where i was using the aldara and then spread to surrounding areas. it doesn't hurt that much and I don't have any blisters or sores or anything but it does itch a little and feel irritated.

I would like to see if anybody has used Aldara, not had any noticable negative side effects, and had it still be effective.

My dr is eager to answer any questions that I have, and I like her very much,but honestly, I dont think she knows all there is to know about aldara. When I asked about side effects, she seemed very confident that the side effects were mild flu-like symptoms. She even seemed surprised to hear of the list of symptoms I asked her about. And she even said that as far as she knows, there are no sytemic side effects to using the med vaginally.

while using aldara frequeantly i would experience some side effects like some pain or swelling after using it for a long period of time. i would stop the use and the redness/ swelling would go away and i would contine use and everything would be okay. recently i bought an aldara imitation cream, not the same brand name as aldara and have been experiencing more of a rash like reddish irritation where i use the cream.

I remember you from the past on this forum. Aldara can have side effects that you mention and was never something I was going to use. I agree with freezing or burning them off. The sooner they are gone, the better.

I am experiencing similar side effects as a result of the Imiquimod treatments. I went to the doc complaining of two small warts, since starting the cream, I have several red spots around the base of my penis. I don't know if I am applying it carelessly (it's hard to get it only on the warts) or maybe too often. As far as the duration, the instruction from my Dr and the packaging says to use no longer than 16 weeks. So i would give until then for some changes to happen.
