s did start w/in the lungs and has since wreaked havoc in her body....in a Sarcoid Support (here Locally) there are many who have Sarcoid that have NO lung involvement. OK, so I will get off that MYTH. (sorry to rant) ;) It can mave to lungs though as well to any other organ in the body (skin is also considered an organ). Lulu is correct in saying that it is not until postmortem (autopsy) that they finally see Sarcoid in the Brain.

diagnosed with sarcoid in the 70's. CXR have always shown bilateral hilar adenopathy. Six weeks ago had upper respiratory infection and have had a residual cough. Had CT of chest with contrast followin CXR that was suspicious for stage II sarcoid. Lyng parenchyma- abnormal interstitial densities in the central upper lobes, perivascular with ill-defined multiple nodules in upper lobes.

My doctor says my liver enzymes were always kind of high, even before being diagnosed with sarcoid. Now my doc wants me on synthroid for this and my triglycerides went up to 240? Is the sarcoid still in my body, perhaps in my liver, causing the high enzymes, low thyroid, etc... Thank you.

and was positive for Sarcoid as well as you have Sarcoid in other organs (right), This is WAY to serious to play around with! I am NOT in any way saying that you can not have both...becasue anything is possible! What I am saying is that NeuroSarcoid can be a VERY SERIOUS thing to deal with. If I remember right, even your SED and/or ACE ws elevated which shows that you are active Sarcoid! NeuroSarcoid can and Does cause the same sx as MS without a doubt. Here is the key though.......

Right. I had 2 4 week rounds of 40 mg Prednisone and have had 3 IV infused remicade treatments with no relief. This is what has lead my sarcoid specialist to believe it's completely unrelated to the sarcoid.

So for about a year afterward I was on Corticosteroids [Oh, and Iron pills for a handful of months, which we think I had low Iron due to the Sarcoid.]. After that year and one little mishap [I acquired Mono, therefor my Sarcoid fused with it (fused might be the wrong word) and I got an itchy, red rash over my entire body.], I was told the Sarcoid was 'stable', and up until now, I've had no real health problems.

Went to a neuro today and he looked over my Labs (blood work), Venus doppler of lower extremities, Carotid Duplex Scan, Transcranial Doppler Scan ( both the scans where looking for carotid stenosis and intracranial arterial tree or anything vascular in nature that could explain the lesions on MRI), X-Rays of lungs (because of the hx of Sarcoidosis), Everyone of those tests are normal ! The only thing that has come back abnormal are the (3) MRI's.

I've recently been diagnosed with Sarcoid and am confused as to what treatment I should pursue. I have seen a pulm dr and had a PFT where my levels are close to 100..blood oxygen good as well. I can take flight of stairs two at a time with no problem, go 30 mins at gym on ellipitcal no problems. The problems are mostly at night, some wheezing, some cough, a few months ago it was waking me but this seems to be going down in intensity.

and after 2 weeks use i have had good results so far so if i were you i would go see your dermatologist if he recomends surgery set the date for about 1 1/2 months away and get them to prescribe you aldara in the meantime. use aldara and within 4 weeks if the warts have not reduced in size or started to clear then just go in for surgery.

I used aldara with great success. However, I have read it has a higher success rate in females than males. Still, I do not know how credible this information exactly is. I found using Aldara to clear up the majority of warts, and then using a different treatment (such as cryo) to clear any remaining warts seemed to be effective. I used a combination of TCA and Aldara, and have been wart free for a month now (took 3 months to entirely clear).

I have had genital warts for 5 years now and ive been using aldara for quite some time. aldara seems to work pretty well for the most part. while using aldara frequeantly i would experience some side effects like some pain or swelling after using it for a long period of time. i would stop the use and the redness/ swelling would go away and i would contine use and everything would be okay.

I have recently been using Aldara cream to try and eliminate my genital warts (HPV). Although the warts minimised in size after three months my doctor told me to stop using aldara because of the ineffectiveness and incredible sores and lesions that i endured whilst treatment. He reccomended me to a dermatologist for the treatment of the HPV.

We show that isostearic acid, a major component of the vehicle, promotes inflammasome activation in cultured keratinocytes, and so may contribute to the observed effects of Aldara on murine skin. Aldara therefore stimulates at least two immune pathways independently, and both imiquimod and vehicle are required for a full inflammatory response. Although it remains to be tested, it is possible that imiquimod-independent effects also contribute to the therapeutic efficacy of Aldara.

What? are you applying Aldara on entire genital area? aldara is to be applied on the warts only and not the surrounding area... did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream...

dont use aldara. I think ACV even does better than aldara although some people here would disagree with my opinion. You can get mini surgery like electrocauterization, cryotherapy, or use podofin and its variants. These three, afaik, are better than anything else to treat warts.

hi there i have recently been using aldara cream for my anal warts (HPV) I have used it twice so far friday and monday. And today (tuesday) i have been feeling muscle pain, and i guess some kind of fever i feel cold or hot at various times of the day but i can function... but during the weekend i did play soccer and hockey and did sweat a lot and ran a lot.

I have a few questions about using aldara. 1) is it harmful to shave on off days from using aldara? 2) Can shaving make the warts worse? 3) Is sex okay when the cream is not on the skin? Thank you!

I just started cellcept yesterday, so having fears and questions, but my sarcoid has progressed into the heart and liver so hopefully yes it will slow it down, but ask your sarcoid doc tons of questions cause after reading all the what ifs I'm rather worried about this drug

Hi. I used Aldara for two weeks and my warts went away. I didn't have to scratch or scrape. I don't think you should puncture them at all. The cream caused some severe skin reactions for me (and it was on my bum :( ) so I stopped using it two weeks in for about a week and then when I went to start applying the cream again the warts were gone.

I went to the doctor, and they gave me Aldara for HPV. This was in January. Since then, I have had the worst yeast infections, and while one bump is slowly decreasing in size (and has hardened and turned quite red in the process), none of the others are changing size at all, and I am getting more tiny little white bumps within a few inches of the initial three bumps I had. I am pretty sure it is HPV, but it seems to be geting worse. I have been tested recently for HIV, and that was negative...

I applied aldara (imiquimod) to the shaft of the penis in an attempt to get rid of what I presumed were penile warts. About a week after use, I developed well localised red and swollen skin on the head of the penis which then ulcertated and has been slow to heal. I have not been herpes positive before and dont think I have had recent contact with any herpes positive partners.
