aldara

Avatar m tn Oh and also how long should i expect for the aldara to start working or for me to see any results?
Avatar m tn well i have been using aldara for about 2 weeks or so and my anal warts have dramatically decreased in size :) i did have bad side effects such as feeling tired and some body aches and really bad itching in the area causing me not to sleep at night but i stuck with it and its actually working somewhat. I did drastically change my diet though eating more vegetables and fruits and taking a daily vitamin and reducing alcohol intake and not smoking at all.
Avatar f tn I have genital HPV and I was treating the warts using Aldara. Applied a lot of the cream Monday to the outside of lower labia minora. Wednesday the labia was hard, swollen and really sore. Friday the swelling was reduced and in it place were 2 sore lesions located just inside the labia. I am now convinced it is herpes from looking at pictures online and reading the symptoms. I am also experiencing tingling down there too! I also have a decreased appetite although this could be from worry.
Avatar f tn s own immune system, and they are all different. Also, Aldara is to be used over a period of 1 to 3 months to produce adequate results. Being very pricey this is not considered practical. Next time you see your doctor ask about having the warts frozen, the majority of patients and research suggests this method is not only useful, but also immediate (as the skin cells are killed as soon as the liquid nitrogen contacts the skin). However, there is no method that eliminates the virus entirely.
Avatar m tn Just started a treatment of Aldara today. I always seem to have a few small genital warts on me. Does anyone know what I can expect. I am 31 and healthy in every way. I have been receiving cryotherapy for 3 years and they always come back. I was told that Aldara will help get my immune system involved in fighting the virus so I will have a better chance of losing the warts. Has anyone out there used thus treatment ?
Avatar m tn Dear Doctor: A month ago I noticed that I had some pimples (a small patch) underside my penis just where the shaft meets the frenelum. . I can't really remember when they appeared and as far as I'm concerned they have always been there, a little less noticeable though. I went to a physician (urologist) and asked him what the pimples were. He took a look at them and told me that there was a "small wart" over that area.
Avatar m tn I had sex with my so about a month ago for the first time, we used a condom, but it slipped off for a few thrusts before I realized it came off. I have since gotten tested for several stds, and I ended up getting hpv. The doctor gave me aldara, and I've been using it since Wednesday. I know aldara can cause a burning sensation, but the warts are very small and on the upper part of my shaft, and the sensation is on other parts of my crotch as well, including my urithra.
Avatar m tn He prescribed Aldara cream 5 % and asked me to apply. I applied a full sachet at a time daily in the nights for about 20 days. I think that some of the excess aldara cream also got on to me scrotum testicle skin which turned the area red. After a few days, there was a watery discharge which further developed into small ulcers. I tried all types of creams and neem oil on it which i think worsened the situation. I showed them to my doc and he told that it is herpes so get tested for it.
Avatar m tn I first saw a doctor and they told me they could either freeze them off or I could use Aldara. I chose the latter and although I attempted to use it two different times for over a months period of time, it did not seem to work. On top of that, I have also tried using cider vinegar and freezing it off at home which has caused some scarring. I'm very embarrassed about seeing a doctor again about this so I have come to you guys for some advice.
Avatar m tn I have been waiting for the results (though I know I have no other STDs thankfully those tests have already come back) and using the veregen. i have not noticed any changes to the bumps or what i think are bumps surrounding my vagina nor the the bumps surrounding my anus.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed aldara for the treatment of genital warts about two weeks ago and have used it as directed by my provider. The patch of lesions is located on the shaft of my penis, are small, relatively flat, and 1-2 cm in size. I started aldara therapy roughly two to three weeks after onset of lesions. My only concern is that the Aldera isn't triggering an immune response like it should. I have no erythema, edema or any other typical "side effects".
Avatar n tn I'd still say it could be a reaction to the Aldara, and how you are using it. You will just need to wait and see what the test results say.
Avatar f tn This December I had a tiny, flesh colored flat wart on my outerr vaginal lip. My doctor prescribed me a 24 pack of Aldara cream. Afetr about a week of using the cream I called him and aske him if I could stop using the cream or do I need to finish it all. He told me to finish using until all gone. I continued using the cream and around the second week of using i developed a sever rash. They were bumps that were really red and itchy.
Avatar n tn Hi, I had genital warts back in 2002 (3-4 small ones). The doctor used the nitro gun and froze them but he missed one. It was a very small one, hardly visible, so I didn't do much about it. I went to the doctor again 2 months ago and he suggested to use Aldara on it because he didn't keep a nitro gun. I had been using it for about 2 months when I developed this sore on my penis, size of a quater, but not round. There were no blisters but just a sore as if the skin had been peeled off.
Avatar m tn She started me on Aldara which is terrible but somewhat bearable. I take frequent breaks between applications because I can get so sensitive from it. The last time I used it (about 3 weeks ago now) I had (what I thought) to be a terrible reaction to Aldara: I had a low grade fever, nausea, dizziness, and many open ulcers that formed "down there". I cried and dreaded every time I had to urinate because it hurt so badly.
Avatar m tn Eventually I had them checked, they were warts and I had them removed and was put on Aldara. I used what my dermatologist gave me but I had no insurance so I never actually filled the prescription. The warts came back months later. I thought about the laser surgery which would be very expensive but the doctor put me back on the Aldara, which I filled this time, hoping it would take care of the problem.
Avatar m tn t going to work for me? Wondering if Podofilox or the stronger 5% Aldara cream would have been a better choice.
Avatar n tn ve been to the gynecologist and my biopsy results came back as benign skin tags. She specifically said I do not have HPV. My question is: is there anything that could cause someone with no previous problems with skin tags to break out in a group of them down there? There are a few at the top of my Mons Pubis, one on my clitoral hood, but the rest (and a decent amount) are around my anus. There was one more in the area between my vagina and anus.
Avatar f tn I have genital HPV and I was treating the warts using Aldara. Applied a lot of the cream Monday to the outside of lower labia minora. Avatar n tn I noticed small warts on my penis about 1 month ago..doctor prescribed aldara...since then I've had about 10 more grow out..what the hell is up with this crappy *** drug they prescribe to patients??? I took all the STD tests and came out negative...
Avatar f tn How was this diagnosed? There is no reliable test for men and HPV if you don't have actual warts present. Type 61 is a low risk strain, meaning it's not associated with higher chances for cancers. The IFN cream probably means that it's an interferon cream - though obviously I can't be sure about that without seeing it. Are you just supposed to rub it all over your penis 3 times a day for 8 weeks?
Avatar n tn accutane isn't the issue here. aldara is very irritating to skin sometimes. if your skin is red and irritated, you shouldn't be applying the aldara to it. stop it and start applying a diaper rash type cream like zinc oxide to the skin until its healed. it can take up to 3 months until aldara makes warts disappear but odds are if you haven't had any results by now, you won't. See your dermatologist to have them removed instead.
Avatar n tn I had them frozen off to only return within a month or two. So I decided to try the prescription drug Aldara on the advice of a dermatologist after he tried applying some similar acting agent product in the office with limited results after 5 weekly visits. Within 1 week of treatment my genitals became extremely sensitive and red, I also experienced herpes like outbreaks on my lips and a general feeling of tiredness and malaise.
Avatar f tn Went to the doctor in June of this year and she prescribed with Aldara because she thought it was molluscum contagiosum which I was told to put on 3 times a week. So I started using the cream and noticed no difference on my inner thighs or butt. But when I put it on my labia it turned into a sore and is terribly itching and burning now and now has a lump/bulge. No idea what it is or how I can help the burning and itching which is causing a lot of pain.
535760 tn?1213891166 I used aldara with great success. However, I have read it has a higher success rate in females than males. Still, I do not know how credible this information exactly is. I found using Aldara to clear up the majority of warts, and then using a different treatment (such as cryo) to clear any remaining warts seemed to be effective. I used a combination of TCA and Aldara, and have been wart free for a month now (took 3 months to entirely clear).
Avatar n tn I have had genital warts for 5 years now and ive been using aldara for quite some time. aldara seems to work pretty well for the most part. while using aldara frequeantly i would experience some side effects like some pain or swelling after using it for a long period of time. i would stop the use and the redness/ swelling would go away and i would contine use and everything would be okay.
Avatar n tn I have recently been using Aldara cream to try and eliminate my genital warts (HPV). Although the warts minimised in size after three months my doctor told me to stop using aldara because of the ineffectiveness and incredible sores and lesions that i endured whilst treatment. He reccomended me to a dermatologist for the treatment of the HPV.
Avatar n tn Two plugs were removed from what was at the time a single point of visible infection. Results will be shared with me next week. d) Treatment to date has involved Aldara. Questions for you, please: 1. Two days subsequent to the biopsy, additonal warts appeared as pink/white bumps to either side of the biopsy site. Is it possible that the biopsy spread the infection? 2. My next appointment is a week-and-a-half away.
