Aldara rash

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara rash

aldara

I had mild skin irritation while I was on it, but a week after I had stopped the Aldara I developed a rash around my anus near where I had been using Aldara and I’m worried it’s herpes. It was a red rash. It itched, felt irritated, and the skin was shiny. I would compare it to mild sunburn. I never saw breaks in the skin: no blisters, ulcers, or scabs. There were, however, tiny, red, separated dots in the rash around the hair follicles I think. I didn’t have any fever, aches, or tingling.
stop it and start applying a diaper rash type cream like zinc oxide to the skin until its healed. it can take up to 3 months until aldara makes warts disappear but odds are if you haven't had any results by now, you won't. See your dermatologist to have them removed instead.
hey im a 20 yr old male. i used aldara for genital warts and it has only made my life worse. i used it for about a month and a half and been off it for about 2 weeks. anyways it did not diminish my warts AND MOST IMPORTANTLY my penis is STILL really red and with a burning sensation and sensitivity down the shaft and base (which is not even where i applied the drug!). I have tried vitamin E oil but have now stopped cuz idk if it helped or made it worse......
I started aldara treatment for GW about 4 weeks ago. most of the warts have disappeared by now.. only a few remaining. My question is regarding the severity of my adverse affects. I experienced fatigue, muscle aches, ulcerations, blisters, swollen labias, redness, pain, cracked open skin, itching, peeling. My latest concern is this giant rash that appeared just during my period.about 10 days ago. I was using pads (i read that tampons could spread warts??) anyway the whole area blew up.
This December I had a tiny, flesh colored flat wart on my outerr vaginal lip. My doctor prescribed me a 24 pack of Aldara cream. Afetr about a week of using the cream I called him and aske him if I could stop using the cream or do I need to finish it all. He told me to finish using until all gone. I continued using the cream and around the second week of using i developed a sever rash. They were bumps that were really red and itchy.
hi, i have a mole in my genital area, went for biopsy and they rules out as benign keratosis, aldara cream was given and after a few applications the skin became red and sore. recently i had protected sex with condom with a woman, but the sore skin is at the base of the penis where the condom doesnt cover......will i contract syphillis by this manner? there are no chancre on her vagina.....i am just afraid of the juices.
They doctor said it was molluscum contagiosum and iI've been treating it with a generic form of aldara. About 5 days ago I noticed a rash in my testicle area. Two days after that the rash became worse and I went to the ER. The physician on site said it was contagious dermatitis and ran another syphilis test for the bumps on my penis shaft. Last night i started noticing itching around my anal area and this has me extremely worried. What can this be? Could it be herpes?
I have had a problem with a VERY itchy, red bumpy rash for months now. I have been to three different doctors, two of whom had no answers for me, the third of which diagnosed me with eczema. The rash starts with clusters of small red bumps, usually on my legs, that get a pale discoloration around them. They become extremely itchy and look like tiny blisters. I have now had them appear on my inner calves, thighs, buttocks, stomach, upper arms, neck, scalp, and groin.
I was treating warts with aldara earlier this summer and I think it might have triggered this rash. I discontinued the aldara. When i discontinue the aldara the skin is red, irritated, ulcerated and flaky. I've been putting some lubriderm lotion on my penis/scrotum but i'm worried about autonioculating myself with hpv or hsv. Sometimes from using a certain soap the area becomes incredibly irritated and painful.
You certainly should have the rash looked into, but it's not related to the HPV. The rash is probably chafing, though a superficial fungus infection is possible. Fungi are not contagious. You do not need to be specially concerned about herpes on the basis of an HPV diagnosis. It is possible that your boyfriend got HPV from his encounter and gave it to you, but frankly it's not possible to prove.
Hello Doc, I posted a few months ago about a rash around my perianal area that I got after using Aldara on a genital wart. I had a rash for about three months, and it turned out it was some sort of fungal or yeast skin infection. My gyno gave me cream that cleared it up in a few days. What I’m worried about is that ever since then I still get a reoccurring rash in that same area.
This is a rash my love is suffering with, which started out on the backs of both thighs and was diagnosed as psoriasis about two years ago. With topical steriodal creams the rashes went away, but came back with a vengance. Now the rash is all over. It itches so badly that scratching for relief causes bleeding and deep gouges in the skin. Our bed sheets are covered in spots of his blood from this rash. It is now affecting his testicles with redness and itching.
I've never noticed anything on my husband. Should I be looking for blister like rashes on his genitels or could it simply look like a red rash? Does it have to itch? What should I be looking for? Is this dangerous and could it turn into something else more serious. I'm a breast cancer survivor and am concerned about my immune system. Please help and put me at ease. The thought of herpes makes me very nervous. Thank You.
I have warts, rash, itching and probably HPV. I want to get rid of the horrible warts and rash and itch. I realize I will have HPV forever now but seek cure for these problems. Thank you......
They took a long time to clear, even with the Aldara cream that i was prescibed. Last week i started to notice a new problem. This problem started 1 week after unprotected sex with a bar girl from soi cowboy. The problem; On the edge of my 'japs eye', i have 3 or 4 white spots that seem to discharge very tiny amounts of white pus. Around my bell end in general, i have simmilar white spots. These white spots seem to have a very faint white ring around them.
(I had raised bumps on my vulva.) The GYN diagnosed me with HPV/genital warts and I have since been put on Aldara. When I raised the herpes question, the doctor was dismissive (I've never had intercourse, had one recent encounter where genitals touched that had resulted in the HPV, had not had any "open, weeping" lesions), and I felt assured. Today, however, I have a rash of little red bumps on the inner thigh of my right leg. They are clearly not the warts that I have on my vulva.
I used the aldara cream, it got rid of my wart without causing major side effects, but I broke out into a red rash about a week after i stopped using it. the rash started on the area where i was using the aldara and then spread to surrounding areas. it doesn't hurt that much and I don't have any blisters or sores or anything but it does itch a little and feel irritated. I've been experiencing this rash for about a month now, and i too am worried it is herpes, but i hope it's not.
Rash on vaginal. It isn't raised or puffy. Could it be a reaction from the Aldara. It don't hurt exactly but my whole area itching bc its dried out by the cream. However I don't think I initially applied cream to the area where the rash is. Could this be a side effect. I wash twice a day and recently sanitized my clothes in Lysol. Could this have caused it? Im being treated for hpv 11 and have tested negative for all other stds.
I have had genital warts for 5 years now and ive been using aldara for quite some time. aldara seems to work pretty well for the most part. while using aldara frequeantly i would experience some side effects like some pain or swelling after using it for a long period of time. i would stop the use and the redness/ swelling would go away and i would contine use and everything would be okay.
Hello Doctor, I am a 23 year old male who has broken out in a shingles rash beneath my left nipple. I was using Aldara cream to treat HPV and stopped about a month ago. While I was unfortunate enough to get HPV, I still consider myself low risk, that being I have had unprotected sex with women twice in the past year. Should these shingles be a warning sign of HIV?
I have a had a rash on my the shaft and tip of my genitalia in two poorly demarcated areas measuring approx 2-5mm that has waxed and waned over the past few years. It is not specific to condom brand or sexual partner, or laundry detergent. I am sexually active, and it does seem to exacerbate post-coitus.
Please don't worry, I used to have warts on my butts, and my doctor gave me Aldara cream 5% (imiquimod) and it went away within two weeks. Please ask you doctor for a prescription.
How safe is Aldara? My 22 month old has molluscum right under her left eye. Dr. ordered Aldara.
im very confused and i get depressed somtimes. have anyone ben through the same thing using aldara and still get rashes about one month after? and they come and go help.
Exactly three weeks following the last sexual episode, I notice what appeared to be a reddish looking mole on the right side of my right testicle. It was not painful nor did it itch. My physician gave me aldara samples "out of an abundance of caution," although he did not believe it was anything to worry about. He specifically stated that he did not think it was herpes. Soon after I began applying the aldara, the area where I applied it became red and irritated.
A year ago I noticed bumps around the base of my penis that looked like shaving rash. I had a PA-C in a dermatologists office look at them. She told me I had Molluscum contagiosum, she gave me aldara, told me to stop shaving and two months later I went back and she froze what was left and I continued on the aldara.
i was diagnosed with hpv last year and used aldara for about two months and havent had any warts since. During the course of the aldara treatment, i experienced the same redness and burning that i am experiencing now. the doctor told me that i would have some irritation and redness on my scrotum and thigh. Could the redness be a sign of a possible outbreak?? Or is my body fighting off a possible outbreak??
Or perhaps, as you suggest, you are just looking too closely. If in doubt, see a health care provider. But stop using Aldara or anything else. Aldara will cause the area to be red and inflamed, making it much harder for a provider to know what is going on. Just keep the area clean with soap and water once a day. I hope this helps.
