I used the aldara cream, it got rid of my wart without causing major side effects, but I broke out into a red rash about a week after i stopped using it. the rash started on the area where i was using the aldara and then spread to surrounding areas. it doesn't hurt that much and I don't have any blisters or sores or anything but it does itch a little and feel irritated.
I had mild skin irritation while I was on it, but a week after I had stopped the Aldara I developed a rash around my anus near where I had been using Aldara and I’m worried it’s herpes. It was a red rash. It itched, felt irritated, and the skin was shiny. I would compare it to mild sunburn. I never saw breaks in the skin: no blisters, ulcers, or scabs. There were, however, tiny, red, separated dots in the rash around the hair follicles I think. I didn’t have any fever, aches, or tingling.
I have had genital warts for 5 years now and ive been using aldara for quite some time. aldara seems to work pretty well for the most part. while using aldara frequeantly i would experience some side effects like some pain or swelling after using it for a long period of time. i would stop the use and the redness/ swelling would go away and i would contine use and everything would be okay.
Ive been on aldara (imiquimod) 5% for approximately 2 months now. I cant notice if im seeing any improvement with my genital warts. However, ive developed a ridiculous rash around the application site. which is extremely red and irritated. The rash looks almost like if i ran really fast and slid my knee on a rug, except its around the base of my penis. Its sometimes itchy and i feel as if at sometimes its developing a particular scab. will this redness ever go away?
I have been using aldara for about a month on my genital warts and have had no burning or tenderness that I have heard people talk about on these forums. It has been working great and I am noticing my warts are starting to shrink. The other morning after using my aldara cream overnight I noticed a lump under my skin where I applied some aldara. It is very tender to touch and very noticeable.
1) Some people are genetically missing the TLR7 receptor - for them Aldara does absolutely nothing. Not even a rash. 2) Some HPV types, notably HPV-16 and 18 (the two most common) produce a protein that inhibits the TLR7 activation pathway. They have evolved to evade the human immune system in this way to survive. This is why those two genotypes are the most prevalent in the world. So if you are infected with one of those types Aldara is pretty useless as well.
well a few months ago i began to get genital warts i used aldara and they went away not to mention the symptoms was very painful, anway a few weeks later i put alot of it on my inner labia but didnt have an warts i just wanted to make sure none were there,any way a few days later i seen these round white ulcers looking things on the outer part of my labia i didnt think it was from the aldara because of the first time using it i never got this but im not sure, i automatically thought it was herpe
He stated that it was probably just a reaction to the aldara and not to worry since the rash went away, although the mole still remains. Approximately one week ago, several red bumps appeared on my inner thigh, which respond fairly well to cortizone. They still itch like hell and hurt a little and have been there for almost a week.
What are the chances that the red bumps could be herpes, considering no signs appear on my penis or the shaft of my penis?
This December I had a tiny, flesh colored flat wart on my outerr vaginal lip. My doctor prescribed me a 24 pack of Aldara cream. Afetr about a week of using the cream I called him and aske him if I could stop using the cream or do I need to finish it all. He told me to finish using until all gone. I continued using the cream and around the second week of using i developed a sever rash. They were bumps that were really red and itchy.
hey im a 20 yr old male. i used aldara for genital warts and it has only made my life worse. i used it for about a month and a half and been off it for about 2 weeks. anyways it did not diminish my warts AND MOST IMPORTANTLY my penis is STILL really red and with a burning sensation and sensitivity down the shaft and base (which is not even where i applied the drug!). I have tried vitamin E oil but have now stopped cuz idk if it helped or made it worse......
So I got diagnosed with genital warts, and started to use vyloma almost 3 weeks ago, applying it every night before bed like I was told to. (I think vyloma is aldara) anyway, it seems to be working, slowly but none the less working. Hi, I have been diagnosed with HPV about a year ago and have been using Aldara succesfully. Recently I had a small out break and I guess I used too much as I had a bad reaction. I got a rash and what apeared to be lumps. I read online that is is fairly common? After I stopped the use, everything returned back to normally within about a week or so. After anouther week i got a fleshlump on the top of my scotum.
hi, i have a mole in my genital area, went for biopsy and they rules out as benign keratosis, aldara cream was given and after a few applications the skin became red and sore. recently i had protected sex with condom with a woman, but the sore skin is at the base of the penis where the condom doesnt cover......will i contract syphillis by this manner? there are no chancre on her vagina.....i am just afraid of the juices.
Now I noticed that both sides of my vulva has been very itchy and when I checked in the mirror I noticed that I had a rug burn looking rash and the area had a whitish/pinkish hue. Hello Doc, I posted a few months ago about a rash around my perianal area that I got after using Aldara on a genital wart. I had a rash for about three months, and it turned out it was some sort of fungal or yeast skin infection. My gyno gave me cream that cleared it up in a few days.
What I’m worried about is that ever since then I still get a reoccurring rash in that same area.
Thanks ladybug, but I am on diet for a very long time, but i know that it's not a healthy diet, I am suffering now for this feeling like deaf, but not, you think i have this swollen lymph nodes?
Hi Grace, she did a pap test for HPV testing and she prescribed aldara. HPV testing is so expensive, i dont know if there's a test for herpes as well here too. I am afraid I will be deported. And I am in a muslim country.
and after 2 weeks use i have had good results so far so if i were you i would go see your dermatologist if he recomends surgery set the date for about 1 1/2 months away and get them to prescribe you aldara in the meantime. use aldara and within 4 weeks if the warts have not reduced in size or started to clear then just go in for surgery.

Aldara therefore stimulates at least two immune pathways independently, and both imiquimod and vehicle are required for a full inflammatory response. Although it remains to be tested, it is possible that imiquimod-independent effects also contribute to the therapeutic efficacy of Aldara.
What? are you applying Aldara on entire genital area? aldara is to be applied on the warts only and not the surrounding area... did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream...
