aldara

Avatar m tn well i have been using aldara for about 2 weeks or so and my anal warts have dramatically decreased in size :) i did have bad side effects such as feeling tired and some body aches and really bad itching in the area causing me not to sleep at night but i stuck with it and its actually working somewhat. I did drastically change my diet though eating more vegetables and fruits and taking a daily vitamin and reducing alcohol intake and not smoking at all.
Avatar n tn I have recently been using Aldara cream to try and eliminate my genital warts (HPV). Although the warts minimised in size after three months my doctor told me to stop using aldara because of the ineffectiveness and incredible sores and lesions that i endured whilst treatment. He reccomended me to a dermatologist for the treatment of the HPV.
Avatar m tn What? are you applying Aldara on entire genital area? aldara is to be applied on the warts only and not the surrounding area... did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream...
601156 tn?1229285825 At the same time I was using aldara cream, so the doctor passed it off as an aldara cream reaction- but my herpes blood test DID come back negative. However I have quit using the aldara cream, and the itching has come back on its own. Although there are no visible sores, for a while there was quite a bit of itching and irritation, and at times the itching would be quite intense.
Avatar m tn Hi I've been using Aldara for 3 applications now for what I believe are genital warts under my foreskin just below the ridge, they are only small. Up to now nothing has happened, no reaction, no itching no reddening of area nothing at all. I was expecting some sort of reaction or change with it being such a strong medicine. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn In the process of getting rid of them she put acid on them (2 different sessions) which helped but certainly did not take care of the issue. She prescribed me Aldara, Imiquiod 5%. It is to be used at night and washed off in the morning around 6-10 hours later. I used it twice, the first time having no reaction, the second accidentally sleeping in leaving it on for longer than the first. I think that in my sleep I moved around a bit much and the cream spread onto my inner labia.
Avatar f tn Went to the doctor in June of this year and she prescribed with Aldara because she thought it was molluscum contagiosum which I was told to put on 3 times a week. So I started using the cream and noticed no difference on my inner thighs or butt. But when I put it on my labia it turned into a sore and is terribly itching and burning now and now has a lump/bulge. No idea what it is or how I can help the burning and itching which is causing a lot of pain.
Avatar f tn I also had red itchy swollen labia, an initial vaginal discharge, anal itching, occaisonal stabbing pain in the back of my legs. My Gyno first said I had dermatitis. However, I had been using DMSO cream which significantly reduced the symptoms by the time I saw her. I was able to keep the itching and redness somewhat under control with the DMSO and other natural products I purchased. But it kept coming back. I fully expected to break out with herpes, but I never did.
Avatar m tn Since I am traveling oversees for several months, I self-diagnosed, and bought a 1-month supply of Aldara 5% Cream from an OTC pharmacy, and have been applying that following the directions in the product insert (3x/week, overnight). What seems odd is that the shape of the 'bumps' are flat, only slightly raised, flesh-toned (i.e.
Avatar n tn ive been using aldara cream for 3 weeks 3x a day. my o.b says that aldara is very strong enough to cause some common side effects. ANd speaking of aldara mean time i let my vagina rest for a while because of some side effects which causes my skin to break likewise itching. she also pointed out that treating gw may take longer period. hope that i can overcome this health problem.
Avatar m tn I'm using aldara right now too, I am a female but my skin has started burning and bleeding too, I talked to my doctor and he said it's normal.
Avatar m tn hey im a 20 yr old male. i used aldara for genital warts and it has only made my life worse. i used it for about a month and a half and been off it for about 2 weeks. anyways it did not diminish my warts AND MOST IMPORTANTLY my penis is STILL really red and with a burning sensation and sensitivity down the shaft and base (which is not even where i applied the drug!). I have tried vitamin E oil but have now stopped cuz idk if it helped or made it worse......
Avatar f tn I have 4 growths 2 larger and 2 smaller, she ruled out Herpes and was left believing it was either Molluscum or Gential Warts. She prescribed Aldara to me and I have been using it for the past 3 weeks which have made the bumps much smaller. I was also tested for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia, both tested negative. Sround the same time I had a medium to light grayish discharge that had a fishy odor especially after I showered. I've had no pain in this time.
Avatar n tn Ive been on aldara (imiquimod) 5% for approximately 2 months now. I cant notice if im seeing any improvement with my genital warts. However, ive developed a ridiculous rash around the application site. which is extremely red and irritated. The rash looks almost like if i ran really fast and slid my knee on a rug, except its around the base of my penis. Its sometimes itchy and i feel as if at sometimes its developing a particular scab. will this redness ever go away?
Avatar m tn ) One last question , since you have used the aldara and the warts disappered is the itching gone as well ? Also I am very impressed I just saw that you are 18 years old , you are vey well spoken and educated on this subject ...
Avatar n tn im doing it when i get back to the states...ive gone the aldara treatment twice now and ive had a horrible last 4 months, side affects and warts still present. cyro them *******!
Avatar m tn Hello I am hoping that one of you have experience or knowledge with the cream Aldara or Imiquimod. I have been using it for about 4 weeks now on anal warts and it has made them pretty much go away. But the itching and burning is EXTREME to say the least and is a minute to minute struggle every day and is ruining my life. I am wondering how long to expect this to continue after I discontinue using the cream or any suggestions for relief until then.
Avatar f tn How was this diagnosed? There is no reliable test for men and HPV if you don't have actual warts present. Type 61 is a low risk strain, meaning it's not associated with higher chances for cancers. The IFN cream probably means that it's an interferon cream - though obviously I can't be sure about that without seeing it. Are you just supposed to rub it all over your penis 3 times a day for 8 weeks?
Avatar f tn I have genital HPV and I was treating the warts using Aldara. Applied a lot of the cream Monday to the outside of lower labia minora. Wednesday the labia was hard, swollen and really sore. Friday the swelling was reduced and in it place were 2 sore lesions located just inside the labia. I am now convinced it is herpes from looking at pictures online and reading the symptoms. I am also experiencing tingling down there too!
Avatar n tn Hi all, I am desperately seeking peoples opinions on this please. I have suffered from genital warts for around 18 months now. The first time I got the symptoms I went to my local GUM clinic and the doctor stated from a visual examination that I had the HPV virus type that caused genital warts. He then froze the warts and gave me some 'warticon' cream.
556286 tn?1215553880 t worry, I used to have these warts on my butts, and my doctor gave me Aldara cream 5% (imiquimod) and it went away within two weeks. Aldara is kind of expensive they're $300 for 12 tiny packets of about 4 water droplets. But they worked like miracle. Please ask you doctor for a prescription.

1080425 tn?1256072486 I have warts, rash, itching and probably HPV. I want to get rid of the horrible warts and rash and itch. I realize I will have HPV forever now but seek cure for these problems. Thank you......
Avatar n tn I've recently had colposcopy biopsies. The Lab reports came back high grade squamous cells, Vain III. I really dont understand it, but evidently the bad cells are thru 3 layers of the vaginal wall. My dr prescribed Aldara vaginally, twice a week for 12 weeks. I've had my 4th treatment, and I'm not having fun. Within 24 hours after teatment I am crying in pain, muscle aches, joint pain, my skin over my whole body hurts. I also have vaginal itching, burning, but its not that bad.
535760 tn?1213891166 I used aldara with great success. However, I have read it has a higher success rate in females than males. Still, I do not know how credible this information exactly is. I found using Aldara to clear up the majority of warts, and then using a different treatment (such as cryo) to clear any remaining warts seemed to be effective. I used a combination of TCA and Aldara, and have been wart free for a month now (took 3 months to entirely clear).
