Aldara how to apply

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara how to apply

aldara

Avatar m tn How did you apply it? Did you just put it on the spots or did you put it all over? Aldara can cause reactions like this, and therefore should only be used when you are certain its warts. You might need to get this checked by a doctor to rule out infection. If you hadn't applied aldara, I'd say get checked for herpes, but I doubt its herpes.
Avatar f tn Aldara is used for several skin conditions. Your doctor will tell you where to apply Aldara cream, and how often and for how long to apply it for your condition. Aldara should be applied just before bedtime and left on the skin for 6-10 hours. If your skin condition reappears you need to talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn sorry for the confusion, that was from veregen, i had a horrible reaction (much worse) to aldara after stopping veregen.
Avatar m tn What? are you applying Aldara on entire genital area? aldara is to be applied on the warts only and not the surrounding area... did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream...
Avatar m tn 1. My dermatologist told me to apply the aldara liberally to make sure that even the tiniest warts in the area are treated. I have read elsewhere to only apply to the warts, but i have also read that aldara seems to respect healthy skin and only attacks unhealthy skin. Which is true and should i continue applying the aldara liberally to the entire areas. 2. The areas that have crusted and flaked are red and raw. Do i continue putting the aldara on those regions or should i stop?
1306047 tn?1333243591 Greetings, I don't come around here much any more, but two/three years ago I was quite active on this forum. Recently I may have had another outbreak after 2 1/2 years without. Doctor gave me Aldara. Thought I'd pass my thoughts along. I've had warts burned off with nitrogen and cauterized as well. Aldara doesn't seem to be an alternative to me. First, you have to apply three nights a week for three months.
Avatar m tn Is this normal to put Aldara over an un-healed wound? Can I apply a tripple anti-biotic ointment to the wounds on days when I'm not using Aldara? Sorry for all the questions, thanks for any help.
Avatar m tn It has been working great and I am noticing my warts are starting to shrink. The other morning after using my aldara cream overnight I noticed a lump under my skin where I applied some aldara. It is very tender to touch and very noticeable. I was wondering if this is a normal side effect and what I should do to make this go away and if I should keep using aldara on that area while there is a lump. Thank you.
Avatar m tn The doctor prescribed me Aldara which is a cream to treat genital warts. I was told to apply it 3 times a week, and Ive been doing it so, until a week ago when I researched all about Aldara and it says to do it twice a week. I am currently in week 8. So The warts are gone.. they were gone on week 4, but now the issue is this. As part of the down part of using Aldara is that it makes your skin go red where you apply it. But what happened now is that it burned off a piece of my skin.
Avatar m tn my derm doc suggested some hydrocortisone for the previous burning red blotch which i started yesterday (not sure if its helping yet). I am just confused how this irritation has lasted so long and how another spot has seemed to flare up after over 3 weeks off the drug. can aldara cause permanent penile psoriasis to begin??? i cant have sex or masturbate or anything in over a month... i cant live with this and im losing hope. this is was worse than any genital wart.
Avatar n tn Thanks, guys.. The doctor wants me to come to her practice so that she can apply it there..Hmm..
Avatar n tn Hi. I used Aldara for two weeks and my warts went away. I didn't have to scratch or scrape. I don't think you should puncture them at all. The cream caused some severe skin reactions for me (and it was on my bum :( ) so I stopped using it two weeks in for about a week and then when I went to start applying the cream again the warts were gone.
Avatar f tn Now my gyn is telling me that, in order to get rid of any other traces of hpv, we should apply Aldara cream on the cervix. I am having serious doubts about this procedure and I would be most grateful if you gave me a specialized advice: is it ok to use it? Can it actually heal hpv? Thank you in advance for your answers!
Avatar n tn hi i was diagnosed to have GW, and my doctor prescribed aldara cream for me to be used 3x per week for 16 weeks Last night i apply aldara on my vagina for 7 hours, then i noticed in the morning i feel very itchy and also i notice a blister on my urifice and as well i a white discharge. is this all related as side effect of aldara? is it normal? since it is not my first day of application.
Avatar m tn My doctor didnt really elaborate on how many times i should apply it but i did 2x per week (mon and friday) since its too expensive! this was my before treatment pic http://s3.amazonaws.com/medhelp_images/user_photos/277373?1339513577 and this is my 1st week treatment http://s3.amazonaws.com/medhelp_images/user_photos/277374?1339513580 as you can see in the 2nd pic there's a whitish discoloration and i believe that is due to aldara but my real question is... is this the healing process?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with HPV in early October of 2017. The GYN prescribed me to apply Aldabra onto the warts for treatment. In all honesty, I didn’t apply the cream correctly and just applied I️t all over my vulva area. This area began to itch and burn so I had stopped using the cream which didn’t present much of an issue because my warts had cleared up pretty quickly.
Avatar f tn how long can I expect the extreme swelling/burning to last? The medication is helping with pain management, but I can't go to work this week like this, as I can barely move let alone use a public bathroom without being in physical agony. Is there anything else I can be doing to help the healing process?
Avatar n tn m wondering if it would be ok to masturbate before I begin, and also how long after using the aldara can I have sex again?
Avatar n tn I noticed small warts on my penis about 1 month ago..doctor prescribed aldara...since then I've had about 10 more grow out..what the hell is up with this crappy *** drug they prescribe to patients??? I took all the STD tests and came out negative...
Avatar m tn hey im a 20 yr old male. i used aldara for genital warts and it has only made my life worse. i used it for about a month and a half and been off it for about 2 weeks. anyways it did not diminish my warts AND MOST IMPORTANTLY my penis is STILL really red and with a burning sensation and sensitivity down the shaft and base (which is not even where i applied the drug!). I have tried vitamin E oil but have now stopped cuz idk if it helped or made it worse......
Avatar f tn aldara is very irritating to the skin which is why you should've been specifically told to only apply it to the warts and not the surrounding skin. I know this is on the info that comes with the medication also. could this be herpes? Yes it could be. could it be something else? yes it could be. At this point both you and your partner can get type specific herpes igg blood tests to see if herpes is part of your relationship or not too.
Avatar m tn I think you'll be fine. Just let it be and it should calm down. I worried majorly about scarring from having my warts burnt off (it looked terribly scary) and you can't tell at all. Not a single mark anywhere I've had removals. Granted, it's not the same as your situation, but does go to show how resilient your junk is.
Avatar m tn Sounds a heck of a lot like your doctor was guessing and had no idea what it was so just told you to use aldara to see if it worked. Since if it truly is hpv it can take 3 months of use to clear up - I'd think getting a 2nd opinion from someone else wouldn't be a bad idea.
Avatar f tn Not sure how to show the picture of the box. But i was just tested at the local clinic for all stds including HPV. They did a cotton swap test on the outside and inside of my penis as well as took a blood test.
Avatar n tn They skin tags are thin enough that I can pinch them off with my fingernails. Will this cream be a problem to apply due to how small they are? Is Aldara safe to use around the anus, where most of my tags are? I realize that these are simple questions I could have asked my gynecologist but when she called with my biopsy results she seemed in a hurry. She told me to get my samples of Aldara from the girls at the desk so I could not ask her when I picked the Aldara samples up.
Avatar m tn It is uncomfortable, and sometimes painful. Use Vaseline to cover normal skin and a q-tip to only apply it to warts. It won't work just after three applications, you have to give it more time. But if the pain is just that awful, then tell your doctor. It cleared a great deal on me, but took a little time. But yes, it is known for working better in women than in men. I'd give it a couple more weeks and make my decision if you can tough it out.
Avatar m tn I had a low grade fever, nausea, dizziness, and many open ulcers that formed "down there". I cried and dreaded every time I had to urinate because it hurt so badly. I called the doctor's office, nurse told me to not use Aldara and wait it out (DUH). I went in last week while the last ulcer was healing and discussed this with the doctor as it was my normal 12-14 week follow after prescribing aldara.
Avatar n tn I have had genital warts now for the past two years. Not all over but I have them. I have used podofilox three times and have had them frozen off and they keep comming back!!! I'm nervouse that this may be a life time thing. I've read all over the Internet how they are supposed two go away within two years. I've hit my time. Does anyone out there have any answers?
Avatar m tn Aldara is supposed to be slower acting in men (up to 16 weeks). In studies, the 5% cream every other day was found to be considerably more effective than the 3%. Mine returned 7 days after warticon, few but in different places. Just had them frozen off (surprisingly pain free and easy). I have Aldara on standby. The wart doctor specifically told me that they shouldn't return. Go without sex for 3-6 months. If no warts appear in that time, they have cleared.
