i have been diagnosed with warts which appeared suddenly after i went of the pill, i have become paranoid about this and it the doc has given me aldara which i used and was sucessful except on 2 stubborn warts but they have now appeared in other places i have ordered more aldara. I would like to know how internal warts are treated and if i take better care of myself if my body could fight them off on its own??
What? are you applying Aldara on entire genital area? aldara is to be applied on the warts only and not the surrounding area... did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream...
25 year old male. Genital warts had somehow spread to my anus. Awful and embarrassing. I tried Veregen but all it did was explode the number of perianal warts. The packaging says it could increase their number, but I really wasn't ready for that. It went from 4 or 5, to by my new doctor's count, more than 20.
So we tried cryotherapy and a Rx of Aldara.
hey im a 21 yr old male. i have been using aldara one two very small genital warts (applying as little as possible with a toothpick). anyways despite best efforts the cream has gotten on other parts of my skin near the warts and has almost bleached it white... I have decided to stop using it for this reason even though the warts are not completely gone (i hate aldara now).
Just started a treatment of Aldara today. I always seem to have a few small genital warts on me. Does anyone know what I can expect. I am 31 and healthy in every way. I have been receiving cryotherapy for 3 years and they always come back. I was told that Aldara will help get my immune system involved in fighting the virus so I will have a better chance of losing the warts. Has anyone out there used thus treatment ?
What are the chances of Genital warts returning after successfully using aldara. I have read that since it is an immune booster that it generally has a very lo recurrence rate but i would like to know if my lifestyle has any influence on that. I am a 24 yr old male who stays in very good shape and eats very healthy. I hardly drink alcohol but i occasionally smoke marijuana and would like to know if that has an adverse effect on my situation.
In addition, let me provide some additional thought and then as a question or two. Warts are caused by HPV. Not all warts are genital warts. There are over 100 different HPV types of which most do not typically cause genital warts but instead cause warts and/or infection in other locations (a scientifically interesting thing about HPV is the fact that some types of HPV seem to “favor” different sites to cause infection .
So I found out last week that I have HPV (low-risk with genital warts). I'm really depressed, it feels like its the end of the world! 30 yr old male in good health who recently had an initial outbreak of genital warts (4 weeks ago). They are mostly located at the base of my penis. They are very small but many clustered with a few random ones on the lower part of my penis that popped up as recently as this week. I have been using Aldara for about 4 weeks with little skin reaction at all (not even redness). I have a two part question.

I was diagnosed with genital warts in 1999 I was treated with aldara the warts didn't come back until years later and the outbreaks weren't that bad. The outbreaks would come every other year and go away without treatment. However, in August 2008 I started getting outbreaks and I thought it was genital warts but it turned out to be genital herpes and I am still having outbreaks my last outbreak was in November but I am on suppressive theraphy.
The doctor prescribed me Aldara which is a cream to treat genital warts. I was told to apply it 3 times a week, and Ive been doing it so, until a week ago when I researched all about Aldara and it says to do it twice a week. I am currently in week 8. So The warts are gone.. they were gone on week 4, but now the issue is this. As part of the down part of using Aldara is that it makes your skin go red where you apply it. But what happened now is that it burned off a piece of my skin.
I have genital HPV and I was treating the warts using Aldara. Applied a lot of the cream Monday to the outside of lower labia minora. Wednesday the labia was hard, swollen and really sore. Friday the swelling was reduced and in it place were 2 sore lesions located just inside the labia.
I am now convinced it is herpes from looking at pictures online and reading the symptoms. I am also experiencing tingling down there too! I also have a decreased appetite although this could be from worry.
i just found what i believe to be genital warts within the last week. ive scheduled an appt with my ob/gyn. i assume the warts will be removed and i'll be put on some sort of medication in case of reoccurance. since there is no HPV test for men, i wont know if my boyfriend has contracted HPV from me until they actually show up. (ive read it can take months to years to show up.
Hi this is tedabell I have a question about genital warts I was diagnosed with genital warts in 1999.I used aldara as my treatment. Is it true that the immune system clear HPV in 2 years and isn't genital warts a viral disease.I am hearing a lot of different things about HPV.I haven't seen warts in a very long time does that mean my immune system cleared the virus or the warts. Do I still have the virus. Another thing I have genital herpes I was diagnosed with that in June 2010.
Hi I've been using Aldara for 3 applications now for what I believe are genital warts under my foreskin just below the ridge, they are only small. Up to now nothing has happened, no reaction, no itching no reddening of area nothing at all. I was expecting some sort of reaction or change with it being such a strong medicine. Is this normal?
also dont be so hung up about genital warts, i was once crazy obsessed about having them i literally went to my dermatologist every week to show him something new to the point where he was laughing at me. he also told me, which is very true just do a simple google search about it, that more then 90% of all cases of HPV, including cases where patients have genital warts, are cleared from the immune system within 1-2 years and never to be heard of again.
