Aldara for superficial bcc

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara for superficial bcc

aldara

Avatar n tn Hi, Aldara is iquimod and has been approved by FDA for use in superficial basal cell carcinoma and external genital warts only. Not recommended for use in case of hemorrhoids. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar f tn Just wanted to post an update on my daughter. She had quite a bit of trouble with the skin graft but eventually it all healed. She developed a keyloid and has been treated for it several times. Aestethically she's not happy, but I think she looks great. However, she was just diagnosed with Infiltrative basal cell carcinoma on the top of her nose (on bone between the eyes). I don't really understand what that is and when I google it, the info I get goes to malenoma?
Avatar n tn Thank you so much - my Mohs Surgery is scheduled for July 19, 2019 for a Nodular Basal Cell Carcinoma on the center of my forehead. The only comment on the Dermatopathology Report, other than confirming that it is "Basal Cell Carcinoma, Nodular type" stated, "The lesion extends to the deep and both lateral surgical margins." I'm wondering if the comment refers to the skin tissue that was removed for biopsy.
Avatar n tn Now I am awaiting Mohs surgery for the BCC and have stopped taking the medication in preparation for the surgery. The larger rash has returned and seems worse. It responds within a few days when I begin to re-apply the cream but I am suppose to stop taking it 10 days before the surgery. My questions are: 1) Is it possible that the two (BCC and larger rash) are related? The rash does not seem to be spreading but it is unnerving knowing that located inside it was a BCC.
Avatar m tn having had genital warts i was given a cream to get rid,but the cream left me with a sizable white patch on my penis, which ive had now for two years.it is on the shaft of the penis and seems to have damaged the pigmentation and is quite embarrassing.is there anyway of getting the colour back?
Avatar f tn Thanks to all of you for your response to my question, and for your comments. Here is an update: Just got back from the dermatologist's office. She told me everything is well with the first lesion, and that it has responded very well to the cream. On the second lesion I used the cream for about 4 days, she said I basically treated it already and by the reaction I had to the cream it basically lets her know it's the same thing as the first one.
Avatar m tn I have been receiving cryotherapy for 3 years and they always come back. I was told that Aldara will help get my immune system involved in fighting the virus so I will have a better chance of losing the warts. Has anyone out there used thus treatment ? My next step if this doesn't work will have to be the cauterization method, ouch.
Avatar n tn I've recently had colposcopy biopsies. The Lab reports came back high grade squamous cells, Vain III. I really dont understand it, but evidently the bad cells are thru 3 layers of the vaginal wall. My dr prescribed Aldara vaginally, twice a week for 12 weeks. I've had my 4th treatment, and I'm not having fun. Within 24 hours after teatment I am crying in pain, muscle aches, joint pain, my skin over my whole body hurts. I also have vaginal itching, burning, but its not that bad.
Avatar m tn When do i stop using the aldara? I was proscribed enough for 16 weeks but i am not sure if i should just continue using the cream for the whole 16 weeks even if all the affected areas have started to erode and turn red and raw or if i should discontinue using it and see if any newer warts develop.
Avatar f tn Is it possible to still be pregnant with low bcc levels? I am 9 weeks bled in week 6 .
Avatar f tn aldara is very irritating to the skin sometimes. Your doctor thinking it could be herpes is a very common thing. Better to err on the side of caution though. You've both been tested for herpes before so the chances of this being genital herpes is very low. Not sure if either of you tested + for hsv1 or not on your testing you had done. We will gladly look at both ofyour herpes blood tests from back when you were tested if youw ant a 2nd opinion on them too.
Avatar m tn I have been using aldara for about a month on my genital warts and have had no burning or tenderness that I have heard people talk about on these forums. It has been working great and I am noticing my warts are starting to shrink. The other morning after using my aldara cream overnight I noticed a lump under my skin where I applied some aldara. It is very tender to touch and very noticeable.
Avatar n tn i used aldara and i worked for me i used it for bout 2 wks n they went away. but dey came back.
Avatar m tn I also developed a basal cell lesion on my right cheek starting with a small area 10 years or more ago. The BCC slowly grew until it became about 6 MM in diameter with a surprisingly deep pit that would fill in with a crusty material. I finally decided I needed to have it removed, but before the dermatologist would consider that, he put me on a regime of Efudex. I survived the Efudex treatment with relatively minimum trauma and my AK is cleared up.
Avatar f tn I would not try and diagnose a skin disorder myself. See a dermatologist for correct diagnosis. You are assuming it is BCC and don't know for sure. Hopefully it is not.
Avatar f tn Im not sure if I should go to the er for this but this is how ive been feeling all day, I woke up and I almost puked, then I went to bcc walking cus it wasnt cold and I almost fainted and my chest started hurting bad, so I came back home con cold sweat and a headache
Avatar f tn My rib pain upper right has been on for 12 months.
Avatar m tn well i have been using aldara for about 2 weeks or so and my anal warts have dramatically decreased in size :) i did have bad side effects such as feeling tired and some body aches and really bad itching in the area causing me not to sleep at night but i stuck with it and its actually working somewhat. I did drastically change my diet though eating more vegetables and fruits and taking a daily vitamin and reducing alcohol intake and not smoking at all.
535760 tn?1213891166 I found using Aldara to clear up the majority of warts, and then using a different treatment (such as cryo) to clear any remaining warts seemed to be effective. I used a combination of TCA and Aldara, and have been wart free for a month now (took 3 months to entirely clear). Aldara has some discomfort associated with it, but I found it less painful than TCA (though much more itchy!). Any treatment for genital warts is uncomfortable though.
Avatar m tn 1. Should I wait and try Aldara Cream or just do the laser treatment, knowing that I didn't do any screening test?2. Can the genital warts get more spread after laser treatment since is in early stages of warts? 3. In future can Genital warts be cleared from my body and be able to get married with kids? 4. Is Co2 Laser Treatment is the best wart removal option? Hope to have suitable answers from you. Thanks in return.
Avatar m tn i think these questions best answered by ur doc unless someone comes on here whose been thru xactly what u've been!
Avatar n tn I have had genital warts for 5 years now and ive been using aldara for quite some time. aldara seems to work pretty well for the most part. while using aldara frequeantly i would experience some side effects like some pain or swelling after using it for a long period of time. i would stop the use and the redness/ swelling would go away and i would contine use and everything would be okay.
Avatar n tn Could this be a primary herpes outbreak or is it normal for the skin to react this way after ending aldara treatment? I experience minimal itching which i always have and no pain but to touch the affected ares is a little tender.
Avatar m tn Sounds more like folliculitis or some other superficial infection -- and for such a problem, Aldara is the last thing you should be using. Stop the Aldara and see a health care provider.
Avatar f tn Aldara is used for several skin conditions. Your doctor will tell you where to apply Aldara cream, and how often and for how long to apply it for your condition. Aldara should be applied just before bedtime and left on the skin for 6-10 hours. If your skin condition reappears you need to talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn what is the normal time it takes for the skin redness and burning to heal after using aldara? i used it for about a month and a half and my penis has never been the same even after 3 weeks off the awful drug. if anyone could offer anything thatd be great. im trying to go see a derm doc. i cant live with this burning pain for the rest of my life. dont know where to go... thanks.
Avatar m tn did a doctor diagnose you for genital warts and prescribed Aldara for you? If not so, please see a dermatologist and first get a correct diagnoses and talk to him about application of this cream... a mild irritation, soreness and itching is part of the healing process with this cream... you should apply petrolium jelly (vaseline) or some other moisturizer to help your pain relief and... stop using aldara without talking to your dermatologist first...
