I just got my first injection for keloids on my sternum area and left upper arm 2 days ago. I have been running away from from treatments for the last 6 years, when my sternum area kelid had just formed and was really small. A lot of people scared me about the pain and I kept procastrinating the treatment for that long. 6 years has made my keloid 6 times larger. And the pain from the scar is like 10 needles from inside! There is no medical evidence of decrease in the size of keloids by using tea tree oil. There are several treatment options available for the keloid treatment like mederma (allium cepa), natural treatments like mucin from the snail helix, moist wound dressings made of silicone gel which decreases the prominence of keloid scar over sometime, steroid injections, compression bandages, cryosurgery, and radiation & laser therapy.
A keloid scar is benign, non-contagious and sometimes accompanied by severe itchiness and pain. Cryosurgery is an excellent technique for keloids and is often combined with monthly cortisone injections. The side effect of this therapy is that it causes skin blanching.
I suggest you to get it evaluated from your cosmetologist and discuss it in detail with him.
Keep positive. Everyday there is new advancements in these lasers and treatment for keloids is right around the corner I really think.
I just wish the insurance companies would understand that the treatment is important to the quality of life of young people who were put on accutane and developed keloids as a side effect. I hear so little about this side effect mentioned. More needs to get out about this. Thank you for the info.
If it is too tiredsome to put the oil on all your keloids than you can put the oil on some of your keloids and use other treatments for the rest and compare.It can be very uncomfortable when the keloid itches more because of the oil......I'm getting my large keloid removed+ radiotherphy so i'll be putting oil on it when it heals.....
I have been receiving cryotherapy for 3 years and they always come back. I was told that Aldara will help get my immune system involved in fighting the virus so I will have a better chance of losing the warts. Has anyone out there used thus treatment ? My next step if this doesn't work will have to be the cauterization method, ouch.

I drew the blood from my fingers which bled easily because of keloids. A couple of weeks ago I had cortisone injections into those keloids, and now I am curious whether the cortisone would affect the results of the test? Since cortisone is an immunosuppressive, would it eliminate HIV antibodies in my blood from the keloids so that the test wouldn't be able to detect any?
I am an African-American female with large keloids taking over both of my earlobes. I am a college student and my current medical insurance does not cover the cost of keloid removals, it is considered cosmetic surgery. I don't think anyone can truely imagine how it feels to walk around in a society so uptight about outward apperances, to understand how uncomfortable and embarrassing it is to live with these keloids. I feel like damage goods!
aldara is very irritating to the skin sometimes. Your doctor thinking it could be herpes is a very common thing. Better to err on the side of caution though.
You've both been tested for herpes before so the chances of this being genital herpes is very low. Not sure if either of you tested + for hsv1 or not on your testing you had done. We will gladly look at both ofyour herpes blood tests from back when you were tested if youw ant a 2nd opinion on them too.
I have been using aldara for about a month on my genital warts and have had no burning or tenderness that I have heard people talk about on these forums. It has been working great and I am noticing my warts are starting to shrink. The other morning after using my aldara cream overnight I noticed a lump under my skin where I applied some aldara. It is very tender to touch and very noticeable.

I have second degree burns with alot of scarring. It turned into keloids and it gets very dry all the time. I have to keep on moiturising every 2 to 3 hours and that becomes painful. Scarring on both of my hands, chect, face and neck. Neck and hands have alot of keloids which is erstricting my movement. Please help with home remedies to eliminate this. am also getting an electric shock like felling accompanied by a painful burning sensation on my neck mostly.
