Aldara cream side effects

Common Questions and Answers about Aldara cream side effects

aldara

Avatar f tn Yes it is and you can get blisters and sores too and flu like symtoms and accing bones, look at the handout that comes with the cream, it has an extensive list of the side effects of the cream, trust me, i got them all. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn t have to and I just want to know if anyone else has had these side effects from Aldara where they were told they may have herpes. I have never had any other STd's in my life. I get tested often and so does my boyfriend and he's never had anything either. I just need some type of reassurance because i have to wait a whole week to find out if I have herpes.
Avatar f tn If your skin reacts badly or the skin reaction becomes too uncomfortable when using Aldara cream, wash the cream off with mild soap and water and contact your doctor. Your doctor may recommend that you have a treatment rest period of several days. ref:http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/Consumers/cmi/a/aldara.
Avatar m tn I've been using Aldara for over two weeks now and am experiencing absolutely no side effects at all. Now I'm not disappointed believe me, but the one and only nice thing about side effects is that they indicate that whatever you are using is not "working" per-se but that it's doing *something*. Is this normal? Also, my doctor did a pretty deep freeze of the warts before sending me home with Aldara.
Avatar n tn The doctor said that if it was Aldara side effects then it would have happened on the wart itself too. But the area effected was the pink skin near the head of the penis whereas the wart is on the darker skin on the shaft. So I am thinking maybe the part on the head was more sensitive. Is it possible this is a Aldara side effect. Last time I was sexually active was 2 months ago just about the time I started Aldara. I was with her for 4 months.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm a male, 26yrs old. Can anyone describe their experiences with Imiquimod? I am on the 3.75% cream which my doctor has told me to use every other day for a month. In the first 2 weeks, nothing happened, only just a couple days ago I noticed a very slight indication that the medication might be working, but I'm still not sure. I have about 20-30 very small warts, and notice 2 or 3 of them showing a bit of redness and drying up a bit.
Avatar n tn i would stop the use and the redness/ swelling would go away and i would contine use and everything would be okay. recently i bought an aldara imitation cream, not the same brand name as aldara and have been experiencing more of a rash like reddish irritation where i use the cream. when i stop using it it will almost go away totaly but when i start back up using the cream the same rash in the same place will re appear. so im not sure if its the cheaper cream or if i have herpes.
Avatar f tn cream is the only part in English. Can some please help to tell me about what this cream will do and the possible side effects. And if its even necessary. As well is this type of HPV contagious through kissing? Would I pass to someone else if i kiss someone?
Avatar n tn I have recently been using Aldara cream to try and eliminate my genital warts (HPV). Although the warts minimised in size after three months my doctor told me to stop using aldara because of the ineffectiveness and incredible sores and lesions that i endured whilst treatment. He reccomended me to a dermatologist for the treatment of the HPV.
Avatar n tn I am pretty sure I have not acquired something new so I am really hoping these are just side effects of the cream. Here is a link to the post I made before seeing this one. http://www.medhelp.

Avatar f tn I was concerned I contracted genital herpes about a year ago. I developed one pimple like sore that I picked at until it became an open ulcer, but it went away. I also had red itchy swollen labia, an initial vaginal discharge, anal itching, occaisonal stabbing pain in the back of my legs. My Gyno first said I had dermatitis. However, I had been using DMSO cream which significantly reduced the symptoms by the time I saw her.
Avatar f tn So my question is if the aldara cream has caused this and I’m wondering for anyone who has used this cream how long does the side effects last ? Also presenting the symptoms I listed above is I️t possible that I have LS. Side note: I will be going to the GYN soon for a checkup but I just want to know or hear others opinions.

Avatar m tn and a heads up at first when i used aldara i had bad side effects such as feeling sick tired, some body aches and severe itching to the point where i said in my mind i have to quit because i got absolutley no sleep on the nights i used aldara. people have said to discontinue aldara but i stayed with it.
Avatar n tn b says that aldara is very strong enough to cause some common side effects. ANd speaking of aldara mean time i let my vagina rest for a while because of some side effects which causes my skin to break likewise itching. she also pointed out that treating gw may take longer period. hope that i can overcome this health problem.
Avatar m tn It has been working great and I am noticing my warts are starting to shrink. The other morning after using my aldara cream overnight I noticed a lump under my skin where I applied some aldara. It is very tender to touch and very noticeable. I was wondering if this is a normal side effect and what I should do to make this go away and if I should keep using aldara on that area while there is a lump. Thank you.
Avatar n tn My dr is eager to answer any questions that I have, and I like her very much, but honestly, I dont think she knows all there is to know about aldara. When I asked about side effects, she seemed very confident that the side effects were mild flu-like symptoms. She even seemed surprised to hear of the list of symptoms I asked her about. And she even said that as far as she knows, there are no sytemic side effects to using the med vaginally.
1306047 tn?1333243591 I remember you from the past on this forum. Aldara can have side effects that you mention and was never something I was going to use. I agree with freezing or burning them off. The sooner they are gone, the better.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, I don't really have much more info. After he told me, the next thing I knew he was freezing them off. I'm actually going to see another doctor before I begin the Aldara, just to be sure. When he told me of this process, he never mentioned scarring or the other side effects. I'm hoping that after talking to another doctor that I will be able to make a more informed decision.
Avatar n tn Hi all, I am desperately seeking peoples opinions on this please. I have suffered from genital warts for around 18 months now. The first time I got the symptoms I went to my local GUM clinic and the doctor stated from a visual examination that I had the HPV virus type that caused genital warts. He then froze the warts and gave me some 'warticon' cream.
Avatar n tn After only about 2 weeks of usage almost all symptoms of the warts were gone however I now have perianal psoriasis in its place. That is one of the side-effects of imiquimod and it mainly strikes people whom are genetically prone to having psoriasis. It is known that an overactive immune system can trigger a site of psoriasis, and imiquimod invokes an immune response to have cytotoxins destroy skin cells. So now....
Avatar m tn Have any of you ever used Aldara 5% cream? My dermatologist suggested it to determine if my mole was just an irritation or a skin cancer. After reading the package insert and doing some research online I was to scared to try it. If it is recommended to me again I am wondering if I should use it. Thanks!
2206935 tn?1373638605 I've been dealing with this for nearly a year now...tried the aldera (no improvement), Dr. removed w/acid procedure (some improvement), had laser surgery (worked well, but came back), I've had repeat trips to the Dr. for removal w/acid treatment...So far breakouts have been less severe (meaning # of warts) and the time in between breakouts is getting longer With that said I would not recommend aldera or laser surgery...
