rehab

Avatar m tn If you do, I would go to the local hospital ER, many of them have programs to get you in good rehabs....I lived in NJ for most of my life and from what I heard there are a few good ones in pa and nj in that general area...but the hospital alot of times have detox there where they usually give you sub for 3 to 5 days and then try to get you into a rehab....or maybe they could get you into a detox right away....but it helps alot when you have med ins.
Avatar f tn Before I post, please do not provide infor as to what can happen "after" the baby is born. I only want information to what is happening "now". First and foremost, I do not do any drugs. Not even marijuana. However, I went to 2 friend's x-mas party after the "family" party not knowing there would be smoking pot. I was there from 11pm until 5am due to holiday celebration. I would occassionaly go outside for fresh air.
Avatar f tn I know of rehab centers in NJ Seabrook house you dont have to go to one in your state....this palce has a program for all ages and types of addictions I was living in Ohio and went to this one in NJ.....How old is your son?

1217235 tn?1266678257 I am not an expert and I am sure every state/country is different. I grew up in NJ and these were my experiences. When I went to the ER for detox w/ ins. it really helped to have ins. b/c I got placed into a detox hosp. When I went w/o ins. I had to get funding from the state/county (Camden, NJ). I ended up at Cherry Hill Hospital and they have a detox unit, they will keep you for 3-5 days which gets you through the worst of it (sometimes longer).
Avatar f tn hi im a week sober im in abit of pain on my leftside under my ribs and the other side is sore l have dirorrea its colour is yellow and as been for three weeks im on strong pain killers to ease the pain ive been drinking a year and a half one bottle of wine and two to three cans a day if you could help me it would be gratefull thankyou
Avatar n tn I would seriously SERIOUSLY consider having him detox in a hospital or rehab center. Not only will they treat his physical state so he can detox safely, they'll help treat his alcoholism. If he's been this addicted to alcohol it's almost absolutely 100% that he'll continue drinking without going into rehab, inpatient detox, and a 12 step program.
317822 tn?1223241475 I must have been in a decent rehab, because when I was in 20 years ago (for alcohol and drugs) I liked it so much that I didn't want to leave....truth. When I walked through the doors I felt like the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders. They will keep you comfortable while you detox then they will get you up and your days will be quite full.....group therapy, individual therapy, classes, journaling and meetings (AA and/or NA). You'll also have some free time.

646318 tn?1261181494 The doctor in our Expert Forum, Douglas Dieterich, practices in NYC. Well worth the trip for the right doctor. Another good choice is Dr. Ira Jacobsen although he doesn't accept insurance. http://www.mountsinaihospital.org/Other/Diseases/Hepatitis%20C?citype=Physician&ciid=Dieterich%20Douglas%20T%201770543 http://www.wellness.
Avatar m tn is there any arrests involved ? i am not sure about the laws in georgia but in nj i sent my son to rehab when he was 17 and he had to stay it was a part of his sentence. when he went before the judge for his drug possession i asked that he be released to a drug rehab and he was. thank god he stayed for the 3 months and never used cocaine again. he hated me when i sent him but now at 24 he thanks me and says i saved his life by sending him there. is this your son?
Avatar f tn I just returned from a womans' detox and it was the best thing I ever did. I was able to withdraw from both alcohol and opiates in a safe place. I couldn't do it at home, not while I still had to go to work, and also worry my family. I was in a nice room with 5 others, then went to me own room, and I could stay as long as I wanted before I had an aftercare program set up. I arranged for all of that while in rehab, so I was prepared when I got out.
Avatar m tn I know lithium intensifies with alcohol but know after not drinking for two weeks my hands are still shaking. Is it the combination of lithium and alcohol and the alcohol that is causing this? I plan to stop drinking and feel I have no problem doing that but how do I stop my hands from shaking?
Avatar m tn I do not believe that taking him to a rehab facility would mean he would get in trouble at all. I am currently in an outpatient rehab, and I have told them some terrible things that I did to get my DOC (drug of choice), but they did not tell on me to anyone. I don't think any rehabs do that. It is my understanding that outpatient rehabs are more affordable than inpatient rehabs. I have just recently been told about and am researching rehab scholarships.
Avatar f tn This cheered my day - evidence they are really researching cause and not just treatment, so I thought I would pass the information on. Maybe there are others on here that are being treated in NJ that will be recieving the same letter.
Avatar f tn Thanks. I'm now on day3 And the tremors hav stopped. Still have the runs tho bt slept better last nite-took double my dose of mirtazapine and am drinking plenty of water and taking a multi vitamin. If I was to seek medical help it would take weeks in my area and I'm ready now. If I waited weeks for medical help my head may be in a different place so I thought best to seize the momment and go ct.
Avatar f tn Alcohol and ANY medications is bad. Alcohol puts stress on all your organs and primarily your liver and kidneys...most medications are cleared through either your liver or your kidneys. Bad mix. You probably need to go to a Detox facility where you can be monitored and given the appropriate meds to help you get off the alcohol.
Avatar n tn My 18 yr old granddaughter has been arrested for calling her boyfriend who had a restraining order against her. She also has pending, stealing cigarettes, verbal abuse to a nurse, breaking a car window in an argument with someone & we did not post bail & would like to get power of attorney & see if we can have her put in a rehab. She has been on a downward spiral for at least 4 years. We know she drinks & are pretty sure that she takes various drugs. What can we do?
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone lived outside of Philadelphia in NJ? I was thinking about switching doctors and hoping somebody can advise me on a good place to go.
Avatar m tn He gave me xanax but even taking xanax freaks me out because it just numbs me and I really don’t want to go that route. Like I break a .5 tab in quarters and I get an instant drunk feeling in about 15 minutes. The doc said I’m the only known person who won’t let xanax work. Like I fight it. Background.. I’m in excellent shape I run 30-60 minutes a day. Even after that, I try to hike before work. I take vitamins and I juice daily. I don’t eat any ****.
Avatar f tn Ur being really strong and for not going to ur dads for a couple is great.I dont do NA myself either.I cant afford expensive therapy etc but I found a place that goes on a sliding scale(Im a stay at home mom so we have1income).I c an addiction specialist&a therapist every week. Its actually a mental health facility&a very well knlwn rehab center(didnt go to rehab there but Im lucky to get to use some the the services and can afford it).Check around for something like that in ur area.
Avatar m tn Hello Mustang. Call your doctor who first detoxed you. You didn't mention if you're alcoholic, but alcoholism is a disease, not a social problem. Relapse is common with the disease and I'm sure your doctor will understand. Don't worry, they just want to help us. It's what they got in the business for. As far as my story goes; l stay sober by going to AA. I surround myself in the atmosphere of recovery with other alcoholics. I could never do it alone.
