Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.
16915539 tn?1452355139 Hi everyone! Im in PA and I'm desperate to find a Rehab where I'm not treated like I've done something wrong by being an addict. This wasn't my choice. This was the only option given to me to treat chronic pain after an accident in 2006. But as every addict knows, sooner or later it can't be controlled. Last Rehab I was in I finished the 6 day subutext detox but I then had such baaaad anxiety (the fight or flight type) AND NO ONE WAS LISTENING!!
Avatar f tn Does anyone know of a good (effective) detox/rehab facility in Tampa Bay/St. Pete area? Son prefers non-residential but has rather large addiction to roxicodone /oxycontin. This is all so confusing and depressing. . seems so many people are trying to make big bucks at desperate people's expense (and I don't mean just dealers!) No one is really giving me much hope of permanent freedom from this drug for him, either.
Avatar n tn After you detox and you no longer have insurance benefits for any rehab, what do you do? My grandson just checked into a detox facility but cannot return to his home. He is detoxing from oxy, valium, alcohol and was on a binge after 10 weeks clean. I dont know what to do to help him without enabling him..any suggestions? He is 18 last month so we dont get any info from detox facility.
Avatar n tn Hi Lisa, I was here back in 2007 before you even had your second daughter, I just go by a different name now. I had actually been thinking about you recently because I am pregnant, almost 12 weeks now and it was not planned and I've been on Suboxone for over 450 days now due to a horrible addiction.
1175931 tn?1263809505 Get your phone book out. Look up detox and rehab centers in your area. Whether you have health insurance or not there are places you can go to get detoxed. That is the beginning. Then the work begins. To figure out why you are doing this. It sounds like it started with back surgery. But that is just a symptom.. There is something that is making you afraid or sad or both that makes you feel a need to numb yourself. I use to do this with alcohol.
Avatar n tn My husband has been addicted to various drugs and alcohol for over 10 years. His current problem is opiates, xanax, and alcohol. But he'll basically take whatever he can get a hold of. He's tried quitting on his own a bazillion times, only to fail within a few days. We even moved out of state to where he didn't know anyone to buy from, but he just replaced drugs with loads of alcohol. This has caused lots of strain on our relationship and I initiated a seperation last week.
Avatar m tn t until my X wife ended up in rehab for pills. I had been sober in AA and CA for near 30 years. A couple years ago I started taking Percocet with a prescription. After a year or so I was taking much more than prescribed, I found a friend who had access to street ones. As I supported my X through detox and rehab I found I was not sober and addicted to Oxy's myself. By the grace of God Pills Anonymous brought a meeting to her rehab and she went one night.
Avatar f tn however, i can tell you that when i was in rehab the last thing on my mind was having sex because i felt so terrible and the rehab i was in in PA i didnt see a man for my entire stay(except for the doctor and a few nurses). it would be hard for him to, on top of all that he is going through, to meet a lady friend, get to know her well enough to like her, and then devise a plan to sneak away and have sex. like i said its probably the last thing on his mind.
Avatar f tn What we were looking into is an in patient drug and alcohol rehab. I have looked at the quality treatment facilities in my area, given the fact that he was detoxed while a patient at Johns Hopkins he wants to continue his recovery on that front, for the most part the treatment facilities available within a distance of Hopkins (should something happen) are either inner city Baltimore and horrible, or out of network for our health insurance and crazy expensive.
Avatar f tn That is 1) We admitted we were powerless over alcohol, and that our lives have become unmanageable. So many people get through the detox, at home (which can be dangerous and is often done though a medically supervised detox). It's like it's all or nothing. Those that don't have the opportunity to go to a residential / outpatient Rehab Facility do not instead go to an Addictions Therapist and use them for the therapy that is many times necessary to quit an addictive substance.
Avatar n tn Detoxing off of alcohol cold turkey can be very dangerous if the person has developed a profound dependance on alcohol. There can be very very serious, even life-threatening withdrawl symptoms. If he's at the point where he's puking from withdrawl it may not be safe for him to detox on his own. I would seriously SERIOUSLY consider having him detox in a hospital or rehab center. Not only will they treat his physical state so he can detox safely, they'll help treat his alcoholism.
Avatar f tn Most rehab centers take care of the detox the first week or so that you're there. I know the ones I checked into do. Also, stay away from Ultram. It will open a can of worms you don't need to mess with.

317822 tn?1223241475 Detox gets you off the drugs safely, and a little of what rehab does. Rehab deals with learning about your addiction and how to live life without drugs. Once you are done with detox, they will help set you up on some continuing aftercare activities. Like an inpatient rehab, or outpatient rehab, a psychiatrist to follow your meds etc. that kind stuff. Hope this helps?
Avatar f tn Looking for the best treatment center in US, Consult with New Solutions Counseling centers in Florida- one of the best addiction recovery rehab center.
Avatar f tn You seem to be over the worst of the physical, but don't be suprised when you stop taking those 4 a day if you don't feel some withdrawal again. Rehab can work well for some people. I did rehab a few years ago, I did outpatient rehab. I went to the center M-F from 8:30a to 4:30 pm. We did have an evening "class" every week for family members to come and get involved in our recovery.
Avatar f tn Not all rehab centers are equal. Many if not most try to do it too quickly with a one size fits all approach, whereas an individual psychiatrist who really knows his stuff will go at your pace. Not that those are easy to find! By the way, you need a new psychiatrist. The one you have doesn't seem to realize he works for you.
660680 tn?1225215237 That is why it has struck me as odd that rehab centers seem to have sugary things for the recovering alcoholics to eat. So here is my question, when you were on the wagon did you have a "sweet tooth"? If you did then your alcoholism may be easier to control than you think. With hypoglycemia, as the blood sugar drops the person tries to raise it by eating sweets (or alcohol). But this only further depresses the blood sugar, creating a vicious circle.
Avatar f tn ANYONE KNOW A GOOD MS NEURO IN READING AREA OF PENNSYLVANIA? ONE WHO OF COURSE KNOWS HOW TO DIAGNOSE MS. I'M MOVING FROM NJ TO PA SOON AND NEED ONE. I'M TIRED OF THE BOZO'S! DO YOU KNOW MY NEURO DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO READ MRI FILMS? COULD YOU IMAGINE?
14183940 tn?1433536902 Hey Cj!! I didn't realize you were so close, I'm from Amarillo, Texas. I know here in Tx, many rehab centers offer payment plans for people without ins, you would need to locate one near you and see if maybe that is an option for you. Take care!!
Avatar f tn Over the past three years, I have slipped into two addictions: alcohol abuse and xanax abuse. I have struggled with anxiety for years and began taking a low dosage of xanax approximately nine years ago. I have used it "off and on" until the past three years where it has become a daily staple. I am not sure of the dosage, but I usually take 1 to 1 1/2 "purple" xanax per day.
