Common Questions and Answers about Alcohol poisoning wine

alcohol

Avatar n tn I am wondering how you guys turn down alcohol in front of family and friends? I will be going to a big weekend wedding that will last 3 days and interested in tips how to navigate that without raising eye brows. Thanks!
Avatar m tn It does not have to be vodka, it can be any type of alcohol, even wine and beer, in fact all alcohol, if drunk excessively will make you ill. Not only that it can damage your liver and other internal organs as well as destroying brain cells. Alcohol is also addictive, so it is best to limit your intake and have a drink occasionally. One average sized glass of wine is fine with a meal.
Avatar f tn Could be toxic hepatitis. A rash that goes away once the toxin is discontinued, is one of the symptoms. I think it's worth going to the doctor and getting it checked out.
Avatar f tn I want sushi and tequila and jello shots and wine, all things I rarely have but the only things I can think of now... Big plate of soft stinky cheeses with wine and fruit.... Mmmm 8 weeks to go!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn Searching the web for info about sudden alcohol intolerance, I found this site. I, too, am one of those people that, within a short period of time, have built up a total intolerance for alcohol. No matter what I drink or how much (one or two sips can do it) I end up being nauseous and having a very painful stomach. It takes days to get back to normal again. Is there anything that helps? I would so much love to have just one glas of wine with dinner now and then...........................
Avatar n tn I'm 28 and have been a social drinker of alcohol since the age of 17. I have always had pain in my stomach after a day of drinking. For the past 2 yrs my pain has become worse. Now I only drink 1 to 2 glasses of wine every few days with dinner. I had a ulcer when I was 16yrs old, which has since been cured. Every time that I have 3 or more drinks I react the next day as if I had food poisoning/stomach flu. I have extreme nausea, in addition to diarrea, dizziness, and constant vomiting.
Avatar n tn There are lots of things that can darken your stools, including Red Wine. And to have this much wine with so little food, I would think this could be the culprit. But if it is, you should feel better in a day or two. Sounds like it could also be food poisoning, which will go away on it's own via the diarrhea and vomiting removing it from your body. Try to stay hydrated in the meantime.
Avatar n tn d have to drink to the point of alcohol poisoning before it could become enough to harm your baby. The way it goes through your system very little, if any, from one drink gets in to your milk. If you're concerned, it's recommended that you drink during a feed or immediately following so the alcohol has the longest amount of time to get through your system.
Avatar f tn Ive not tried the red one, but the white non-alcohol wine tasted oddly of white grape juice and pop rocks lol.
Avatar f tn I am an avid enjoyer of wine and whiskey, and have never had issues with either beverage. Beer I need to stay away from because it gives me horrid cramps and bloating, but never have I felt nauseous. The only drink I've know to make me this sick is tequila. Even the smell has instilled nausea in me. I am allergic to tree nuts, and actually figured that there could be a correlation between that and the agave agent in tequila. Needless to say, I avoid at all costs.
Avatar f tn You can read up on it you can have a glass of red wine and nothing will happen only once a week tho my whole pregnancy I only had one cup when I was like 4 months and I told my doc about it she said only red wine nothing else a lot of people don't know that so they will probably say your a bad mom lol just Google it
Avatar f tn I am 23 weeks, i read that it was ok to drink a glass of wine but i over did it and drank the whole bottle? Now, im really freaking out, how can i know if my baby is fine?
Avatar n tn My friend died of alcohol poisoning with a BAC of 0.70 does this not seem extremely high, is this possible?
Avatar m tn Think of it as getting lucky this time. There are only so many times you can drink until you have alcohol poisoning without some permanent damage to your liver. Take it from someone that knows. Diagnosed 03-23-10 end stage cirrhosis.
Avatar m tn Sounds like a bad reaction with another drug you had in your system at the time. 6 oz of beer is not enough to do anything. You symptoms are indicative of another problem and you should see a medical professional.
Avatar m tn t urinate for some reason except once after I started drinking (and I just found out every time you urinate 10% of it leaves your body) and I drank on an empty stomach. Is that enough that I got a small case of alcohol poisoning? I woke up puking everywhere which I never do unless I'm REALLY sick and I was shivering even though my family member says it was hot in here and I don't get cold easily on top of that and I was confused and other unpleasant things.
Avatar n tn Hard to say for sure. You generally burn off an ounce of alcohol per hour. Take the ounces of wine, about 8% alcohol or so... get the number of ounces of alcohol and multiply to get the hours to metabolize it... but then you will have some breakdown products for a few hours as well that will look suspicious. The best bet is to go back in time and don't drink the wine.
Avatar f tn s child got fetal alcohol syndrome from not even a full glass of wine everyday unless you know of something that no one else does. I have researched and read studies and have never heard of thos, not even in an opinion form. Women have been drinking while pregnant for thousands of years. Not drinking while pregnant is a new thing. I'd take a guess that in the past women did not get wasted off thier a$$ like the ones whose children develop fetal alcohol syndrome do now.
Avatar m tn Hello, It is usually not the alcohol that produces the allergic reaction to the wine or beer. The other ingredients in the alcohol, such as yeast, sulfur dioxide, and additives are often the culprits. Beer may contain a variety of ingredients, including barley, corn, wheat, and rye that may precipitate an allergic reaction.Similarly wines contain sulfites which may be the allergen to some individuals.
Avatar f tn I didn't get alcohol poisoning from HALF A BEER and who said anything about stopping antidepressants? Zoloft gave me my life back, I don't care about drinking I just wondered why I seem to have developed an alcohol intolerance. Seriously these replies are making it look like I want to just get wasted every day for the rest of my life... no.
Avatar n tn t know if there was something added to one of your drinks or if it is alcohol poisoning. Please get it checked out. If it is an allergy benadryl would likely help but best to have it looked at by a doctor.
Avatar f tn MS itself is not a reason not to drink wine or other alcohol in moderate amounts. Read the leaflets that come with your meds to see if alcohol is contraindicated. Check with your doctor, and if all is okay, then enjoy one! With MS, why withhold an innocent pleasure? We have so much negativity.
Avatar f tn They say no alcohol but some drs have told me one glass (a normal small one) of wine is ok as long as u are out of first trimester. It all depends on ur dr.
