Avatar f tn m going 2 hypothesize here that his liver and pancreas are near exhaustion and that he is causing toxicity/poisoning in his system....hence the smell!
Avatar f tn EMG ruled that out. I know that it often starts because of diabetes or some kind of poisoning (like alcohol poisoning and more) I was also looking into if poisoning mold could cause it, but I´m not sure. So from what I read, I thought if I had this, I could try to avoid the things that make me sick and then I would get some relief. Is that not the case? Do you have other symptoms than pain? Do you take neurontin? I sure hope you can get some relief.
Avatar m tn My grandmother has never had a drink in her life, but she was a regular at many parties and bars. She has fun without the alcohol. For some people, normal means no alcohol at all. I too suffer from OCD and can understand your obsessive thoughts and how they can take over your life. What I've found to help me is my weekly group (love them) and a journal. A lot of positive talk to yourself will help too. I write almost daily, at least everytime an obsessive thought creeps up.
Avatar m tn I would say stay away from alcohol just because of the medication you're on. That could have made you extremely sick. I've never heard the equation of 10% leaving the body every time you urinate and I've studied a lot about alcoholism and addiction. I used to give myself alcohol poisoning on a regular basis when I drank. 2 day hangovers were standard, and at times I would throw up over 15 times in a day.
Avatar m tn Sounds like a bad reaction with another drug you had in your system at the time. 6 oz of beer is not enough to do anything. You symptoms are indicative of another problem and you should see a medical professional.
Avatar n tn My friend died of alcohol poisoning with a BAC of 0.70 does this not seem extremely high, is this possible?

Avatar m tn I have no other significant symptoms or illness. I do not smoke and use very little alcohol. Can anyone come up with a cause and/or treatment regimen?
Avatar n tn Well I've had diabetes for about 5 years now and I'm jus about 17 now going into my junior year and I want to drink and get the drunk feeling. I've only done it a few times now and every time I've gotten drunk I still remember to check my bloodsugar and can think completely straight too. I know that when you drink it slows down your kidneys for distributing glucose so your bloodsugar can go low just depending on the type of alcohol...
672475 tn?1227793166 as far as mixing alcohol and psychiatric meds, the effects of the meds can be lessened, intensified or even result in severe psychosis as i experienced years ago when i drank while on a common antidepressant. the potential effects are also dependent on things like emotional status and any other substances being taken.
Avatar f tn The thing that I am worried about, is it possible that the alcohol I drank can be methanol and I survived it? And is it possible that this alcohol damaged my eyes but I am not aware of it?
Avatar f tn I remember throwing up and then passing out again. I slept for 8 hour. I read that alcohol poisoning can cause dehydration, leading to low blood pressure and low supply of oxygen to the brain. Also, that alcohol in high doses can slow your breathing, also causing inadequate supply of oxygen to the brain. Did I suffer alcohol poisoning? What are the chances that I my brain starved of oxygen while I was passed out? It’s possible that I suffered some kink of brain damage from this single episode?
Avatar n tn t feel like I am as aware as I should be about my diabetes. Alcohol digests differently than food and can do different things to the way your body absorbs insulin.
Avatar f tn My mother recently started feeling sick. She has a horrible pain in her lower left abdomen. Then she started acting 'drugged'.I thought it was a stroke or something, so I took her to the emergency room. They said it was diverticulitis, and put her on TONS of antibiotics. 6 days later... She still goes in and out of acting 'drugged', and the weirdest part is her fever. It fluctuates between 97.9 & 101 back and forth often 15 minutes at a time.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with peripheal neuropathy and it all stared 6 years ago at the age of 36. For the longest time, the doctors seemed confused about my situation. I've been to 4 neurologist, 6 podiatrist, and 2 back doctors. In short, I have the same or similar question: Is there a way to find the problem and/or recover from this? The only medication that works for me is Hydrocodone or similar and I only take 1 at night when I can no longer handle the pain and burning.
Avatar m tn Although I use Respirators, gloves and any other protective gear i can find with no ventilation these chemicals tend to hang around and can be absorbed through eyes and skin. I have been to many doctors and told them it was my opinion that "WORK" was making me sick. When I mention "WORK" they all shut down and don't want any thing to do with "WORK" related issues. Finally I found a Occupational lung doctor at Johns Hopkins medical center in Baltimore Md.
Avatar n tn I don't understand how alcohol can cause hypoglycemina in diabetics. It seems to me that it would cause hyperglycemia because of the sugar in the alcohol. I just heard a story of an adult who passed out twice because she had wine after taking insulin. Her blood sugar was 175 when she took her insulin and within 15 minutes she was passed out.
Avatar n tn I am wondering how you guys turn down alcohol in front of family and friends? I will be going to a big weekend wedding that will last 3 days and interested in tips how to navigate that without raising eye brows. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Yes, food poisoning can cause harm to your baby, and it can be a very serious issue that requires antibiotics, so if you think you may have gotten food poisoning make sure you see a doctor! Usually it happens quickly after, and you have diarrhea, vomitting, sharp pains, etc, it could definitely be morning sickness if it's just vomitting. Is there anything you've eaten that concerns you??
Avatar m tn I know from first hand experience that a lot of things go through your mind when you think someone may have alcohol poisoning, and there is a natural reaction to hope you are wrong and wait to see if the person to be OK, and that people may very well get mad if you are wrong and drag them to the hospital.
Avatar f tn t show any other signs of alcohol poisoning so I was wondering if there was another thing less fatal than alcohol poisoning.
