Avatar m tn t urinate for some reason except once after I started drinking (and I just found out every time you urinate 10% of it leaves your body) and I drank on an empty stomach. Is that enough that I got a small case of alcohol poisoning? I woke up puking everywhere which I never do unless I'm REALLY sick and I was shivering even though my family member says it was hot in here and I don't get cold easily on top of that and I was confused and other unpleasant things.
672475 tn?1227793166 as far as mixing alcohol and psychiatric meds, the effects of the meds can be lessened, intensified or even result in severe psychosis as i experienced years ago when i drank while on a common antidepressant. the potential effects are also dependent on things like emotional status and any other substances being taken.
Avatar m tn I'm not real sure if this is where I should post this but my boyfriend went out last night and drank about 15 beers and said he had 1 1/2 liquor drinks on top of that. Normally each night he consumes about 6 or more beers a night. On a few occasions his body gets splotchy - chest & head only - and has a very hard time breathing - about to pass out - and gets chills. He has gone to the emergency room many times for this but no one seems to know what it is.
Avatar f tn Hi Dear Alcohol is a potent depressant of the central nervous system (brain in particular) and activates the inhibitory neurotransmitters in the brain. The acute effects of alcohol depend on the concentration of alcohol in the blood (directly correlated with the amount and time of drinking). Initially, alcohol generally produces feelings of relaxation and cheerfulness, but further consumption can lead to blurred vision and coordination problems.
Avatar m tn Why would you do this to yourself? You must have been so sloppy drunk that everyone just saw it as sad. It's not cool to be that person. You easily could not be here right now. It's time for a break or maybe even time to quit. It's likely that you are very dehydrated. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water to flush the toxins from your body, Gatorade is best for replacing the electrolytes. You will be fine. Think of it as getting lucky this time.
Avatar n tn My friend died of alcohol poisoning with a BAC of 0.70 does this not seem extremely high, is this possible?
Avatar m tn Sounds like a bad reaction with another drug you had in your system at the time. 6 oz of beer is not enough to do anything. You symptoms are indicative of another problem and you should see a medical professional.
Avatar m tn t keep multiple things in mind at a time.Is it alcohol poisoning or something else.i consulted a psychiatrist and he said it was becoz of sensitivity. If itz a case of sensitivity ,why I m experiencing problems still now after 3 weeks .On the contrary if itz poisoning ,how can small amount of ethanol cause poisoning..?
Avatar m tn Never take that much ibuprofen at one time. Food poisoning usually ends within 24 hours after you present withsymptoms, through vomiting and diarrhea ridding your body of it. Since you are having stomach pain you really need to see your doctor, as this isn't the flu either.
Avatar n tn Can discoloration occur around the perimeter of the lips/mouth after food poisoning? If so, why?
498656 tn?1213446919 "I cannot drink responsibly and 1 drink leads me to 7-9 drinks until I pass out." There are plenty of alcoholics on this forum who understand what you mean about not being able to stop but at some point you have two options - drink or die. I'd doubt that drinking will be a problem for you for very much longer - once your liver becomes cirrhotic and you need a transplant maybe it will be the trigger you need to quit before you die.
Avatar m tn He finally said it was his opinion my lung problem is work related. Now after searching nonstop for some one to help me with the poisoning of my entire body I cannot find a doctor and really don't know what kind of doctor to look for. I need help and any would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Its very dangerous to do, hopefully you can stop drinking to such a high degree or quit. Talk to your doctor about alcohol poisoning and he can confirm this. Doctor could also get your toxicity checked in your liver, hopefully your liver is still healthy. Please take this seriously before it's too late.
Avatar n tn This is sad to read. Did you get help for the reason why you were taking such drastic action? I sure sure hope so. You matter. You have loved ones. Life to live and depression should never be left unattended to wreak this kind of havoc in us. So, what have you done to treat the depression. Your method was wow, a lot to handle. Yes, surprised you don't have a situation left after that to deal with.
Avatar n tn Even a possibility to alcohol poisoning! Not worth taking the risk again by drinking alcohol for any reason (: Best wishes.
Avatar m tn Yes, poisoning yourself everyday tends to have negative health effects on most people, mentally and physically. Fortunately, you're alive and you have still turn your health around. I noticed you wrote "PLEASE HELP" at the end of your post. If you want advise from people going through the same thing you are, hit up some AA meetings. What harm could it do?
Avatar f tn I also wanted to let you know about the harmful effects of Alcohol on the brain and it can cause depression. Alcohol is a depressant, which means it slows the function of the central nervous system. Alcohol actually blocks some of the messages trying to get to the brain. This alters a person's perceptions, emotions, movement, vision, and hearing. In very small amounts, alcohol can help a person feel more relaxed or less anxious.
Avatar m tn http://www.collegedrinkingprevention.gov/OtherAlcoholInformation/factsAboutAlcoholPoisoning.aspx Pay special attention to the symptoms. I know from first hand experience that a lot of things go through your mind when you think someone may have alcohol poisoning, and there is a natural reaction to hope you are wrong and wait to see if the person to be OK, and that people may very well get mad if you are wrong and drag them to the hospital.
Avatar f tn I drank one of his alcoholic beverages. It has been a year since I drank it. The drink he made contains %40-45 of alcohol and I drank approximately 400-500 ml of it. I didn't feel bad that night except being drunk. I slept well and even though I have headache too often, I didn't even suffer from headache that day. The thing that I am worried about, is it possible that the alcohol I drank can be methanol and I survived it?
Avatar n tn t get all of what she said, but I understood that I had been diagnosed with acute alcohol intoxication (alcohol poisoning), that I spent the night in a vodka-induced coma and that I could've died. I think she said my blood alcohol content was 500 or .50. They kept me under observation all afternoon, tested my urine, and I had to call my parents to pick me up. After that, I had the most awful hangover for a week.
Avatar m tn and also had not having proper diet and few weeks before i noticed i was shivering if i dint drink so i used to drink since last 3 days i have completely stop drinking and trying to eat on time atleast 2 times but my problem is i am un abel to sleep at all and even if i feel i am getting sleep when i try n sleep i an waking up after every 2 or 3 minutes as if some lightning took place in my head is it because i left it at once.
Avatar m tn t drink so much. This is called alcohol poisoning and you can die from it. Please if you do drink again, do so moderately and learn what your limit is. - My limit is 1/2 beer, after that my nose gets numb.
Avatar n tn Hi.. As a recovering alcoholic myself (10 yrs clean), I've done my share of research. After a night of heavy drinking (to the level of losing conciousness) You will smell the alcohol over the next 24 hours as the body detoxes itself. The alcohol is released from the body through the pores of the skin (in addition to "regular" elimination). She drinks to the point of unconciousness because her body is taking in more alcohol than it can process.
Avatar f tn I remember throwing up and then passing out again. I slept for 8 hour. I read that alcohol poisoning can cause dehydration, leading to low blood pressure and low supply of oxygen to the brain. Also, that alcohol in high doses can slow your breathing, also causing inadequate supply of oxygen to the brain. Did I suffer alcohol poisoning? What are the chances that I my brain starved of oxygen while I was passed out? It’s possible that I suffered some kink of brain damage from this single episode?
