Common Questions and Answers about Alcohol inpatient rehab maryland

rehab

Avatar n tn Detoxing off of alcohol cold turkey can be very dangerous if the person has developed a profound dependance on alcohol. There can be very very serious, even life-threatening withdrawl symptoms. If he's at the point where he's puking from withdrawl it may not be safe for him to detox on his own. I would seriously SERIOUSLY consider having him detox in a hospital or rehab center. Not only will they treat his physical state so he can detox safely, they'll help treat his alcoholism.
Avatar f tn Well I leave Thursdays to do an inpatient detox and rehab. After several surgeries I became dependent on oxycodone 15mg 5xday. When I first realized I was addicted I tried to ct and ended up passing out due to my Bp dropping. Then I decided to taper but my dr stopped that as well because they said I needed to have a 3rd back surgery even tho my last one was in April. I'm not walking correctly, kinda hunched over.
Avatar f tn I did understand and I did read your whole post. There is a difference in outpatient aftercare (NA, PA, AA) and inpatient aftercare (rehab). Rehab is obviously more intense and safer and a great thing if you're falling apart. I went and it didn't haunt me through my personal health record. It is expensive....but can you really put a price on your life and family and well being and happiness? Insurance, many times, will cover it....opiates are sometimes not covered...
Avatar n tn My 18 yr old granddaughter has been arrested for calling her boyfriend who had a restraining order against her. She also has pending, stealing cigarettes, verbal abuse to a nurse, breaking a car window in an argument with someone & we did not post bail & would like to get power of attorney & see if we can have her put in a rehab. She has been on a downward spiral for at least 4 years. We know she drinks & are pretty sure that she takes various drugs. What can we do?
317822 tn?1223241475 Once you are done with detox, they will help set you up on some continuing aftercare activities. Like an inpatient rehab, or outpatient rehab, a psychiatrist to follow your meds etc. that kind stuff. Hope this helps?
Avatar f tn My question is, he now wants to enroll in an inpatient rehab to address his issues is this possible so soon after surgery? The only problems he is experiencing are headaches and mild fatigue. I am having difficulty with the centers we have contacted, although no one has outright turned him down, they just beat around the bush. His follow-up appt with his neuro surgeon is in 3 weeks.
Avatar f tn ve never had the alcohol addiction, but from what I understand after my inpatient program and the many many people I met there, detoxing from alcohol can actually be deadly, while opiates is just incredibly and uncomfortable at best - but not deadly. With alcohol, you run the risk of seizure and I'm sure other things of which I'm not directly familiar. Thats why alcohol detox will be done in a medical unit and they'll help you through the w/d symptoms to ease your pain.
Avatar m tn does anyone know how much it cost to goto rehab if udont have ins.? im hooked on percs for almost 2 yrs and want my life back!! i tried to wean down just had no luck and cold turkey didnt work. please help!!
5901196 tn?1395543909 Hello! My name is Dee. I'm 53 yrs. old, have 3 adult sons and 8 grandchildren. My history of drug use is very long, 30-33 yrs., so I'll just get to it. (I have to thank God right now for letting me have a home and my family.) I got off Suboxone about a month ago. What I need advice on is this: Even though I'm clean, I'd like to go to inpatient drug rehab, (at least a 30 day program), to work thru all of these emotions that are coming to the surface.
Avatar f tn The anxiety you are feeling in the morning after drinking is the WD effect from alcohol. As you know, alcohol depressess the central nervous system. When you have conditioned your body to expect alcohol every day you will experience WD when you don't have it. Acute alcohol WD is hyperstimulation of the central nervous system (opposite effect experienced when drinking). This hyperstimulation causes anxiety, increased heart rate, seizures and even cardiovascular collapse.
Avatar m tn Inpatient rehab, definitely. If you cant stop get help it's worth it. Not everyone can stop drinking on their own and just like was said previously it's unhealthy for some to try this, it can even be deadly. But sadly, if you keep up the drinking like you've described the outcome is grim. Your liver takes the brunt of the alcohol damage, Pancreas too. Living sober is great. I drank heavily for ten years and wish I'd had quit years ago.
Avatar m tn in regards to getting myself an inpatient program as the life of on and off is one of pure insanity.Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I probably just need outpt rehab, but like today, I feel I need inpatient rehab. I ache all over after being clean a month. My kids can see the difference in me because before I was so complacent, now I'm just irritable when I'm here, and gone a lot trying to keep up with this nursing recovery program. I'm stressed out trying to make these deadlines. And to have to depend on my husband to carry his end of it.
6815927 tn?1395511425 If I remember correctly, you're trying to come off very high doses of Fentanyl and oxycodone. And did I just read yesterday that you are done for some reason with the dr that has been prescribing the patches and won't be getting any more from that dr? Maybe I dreamed that, I'm not sure....but you are down from 200 mcg to 100 on the patches, right? All things considered, your health issues and your drug history....
Avatar n tn inpatient rehab is a must for some, and i have been to a couple.
725350 tn?1318680468 A lot of people on here (I was one of them when I first started surfing the forum ages ago) know they have a drug problem and are addicted, but have ruled out the possibility of going to an inpatient facility to detox and begin recovery. We feel like we have too much responsibility, too much going on, or don't want others to know whats wrong, etc etc.. I fought rehab for 3 months before I went, thinking that I was strong enough this time, to do it on my own.
Avatar m tn So we tried admitting him (while high) to an inpatient drug rehab. He once again said he has delusions and paranoia and even admitted to coke use. He ended up in the psychiatric unit and after a week of eval. he is outpatient with a brand new scrip of psych meds even with his violent tendencies and pissing hot for coke. Anybody know why they went outpatient when is clearly abusing his medication, taking street drugs and threatening people's lives?
Avatar f tn Looking for the best treatment center in US, Consult with New Solutions Counseling centers in Florida- one of the best addiction recovery rehab center.
1041243 tn?1375230520 Are there any other rehab facilities in your area [or a little aways from your area] that you can get into, because I've never heard of there being a waiting list to get into one. If you go to the ER and tell them your story and state that you're in need of help, they're required by law to put you where you need to be for rehab. Please try not to scare yourself about the seizures.
Avatar f tn After going home from the inpatient rehab center, is it necessary to follow up with visiting the the outpatient rehab center regularly or just continue at home the rehab exercise which be taught at rehab center?
Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.
Avatar f tn what will rehab do for me? im in the process of calling the ins co to see where i can go. will they give me something to stop this crazy jittery feeling? will i be not so anxious to the point of not coping? i am comin g out of my skin. i cant take it. will rehab help? or will i be in a strange room with strange people going thru the same exact thing? i cant do this alone i just cant... i need help im just not sure what i need.... i am willing and able to go for inpatient treatment.
Avatar n tn We are in TX and found that the outpatient rehab that was affiliated with the inpatient rehab hospital that my husband was in had water therapy.
Avatar m tn m not certain where you live but in your situation I would recommend an inpatient detox and rehab program. The reason is you show high enthusiasm and readiness to address your addiction head on and because it is placing stress on your family, an inpatient program can provide you a safe environment in which to detox, learn new coping strategies and get established with aftercare. The inpatient programs are highly recommended for people with minimal suppot.
Avatar f tn how can i help my dad getting over his alcohol dont get mw wrong hes been off it for four week now but he keep on taking painkiller everyday and hes not eatting that much as well is there any vitamins or anything that could help him.
Avatar m tn I do not believe that taking him to a rehab facility would mean he would get in trouble at all. I am currently in an outpatient rehab, and I have told them some terrible things that I did to get my DOC (drug of choice), but they did not tell on me to anyone. I don't think any rehabs do that. It is my understanding that outpatient rehabs are more affordable than inpatient rehabs. I have just recently been told about and am researching rehab scholarships.
