Does anyone have reference to any studies done on POST treatment alcohol consumption or know anyone who consumed alcohol POST treatment who had only stage 1 slight liver damage? I'm NOT refering to someone with active Hep C or major liver damage. I'm also aware that too much alcohol is not a good thing. I know what opinions people have, I'm looking for facts or personal experiences. Once TX is over either the HCV is gone (cured) or it's not, is that not correct?

If they're irregular, it's possible she's not even the whole 3 months along, which would kind of help because the sooner you quit the better. However, she won't know until the doc appt and shouldn't stress too much about it. What's done is done and cannot be reversed. There's no hard facts on small amounts of liquor because they can't really study it to say ok stop, this much more and your baby will have FAS.

hopefully u will learn to appreciate /love life more without soaking urself in the alcohol when we r young we take life for granted think we're immortal and made of crypton...do u drive drunk?

re: "No one in her family had cataract before." As they can tell, everyone will eventually get cataracts if they live long enough. It isn't merely that old age can cause cataracts, it appears it always eventually does, so that merely means no one in her family has yet lived long enough to do so. The odds though are that the cause of a cataract at a young age is different than typical age related cataract.

so, i've heard lots of things about diabete's with marijuana or alcohol, so now i want some facts. i've heard that alcohol can make your blood sugar go low but i thought it turned into sugar very fast so it would make my blood sugar high? i've allso heard of people going low while smoking marijuana, which could be because they have had a over dose. or is the weed causing this? this information would be helpfull before i try marijuana for safety resons.

I have a friend that is in his 20's and has a bleeding ulcer and he is that young. Some people truly can't drink, a true allergy to alcohol. I have pancreatitis and was a result of drinking too much. I chose not to drink anything, the key is moderation. If you have elevated enzymes, take a look at life without alcohol.

m taking the opportunity for a blog-like response about STDs, sex and dating for young people just starting on their lifelong sexual careers -- so I can use it to refer future users with similar questions. STDs are not merely genital area infections that are easily transmitted. The bacteria and viruses transmitted sexually evolved so that they are hard to transmit unless there is penile penetration into a vagina, rectum, or (less often) mouth.

We are here to encourage. The young ladies who post such questions need to be informed of the facts. Its a chance to educate someone. They may not have parents that talk to them about this stuff or have never had sex education. It may seem odd and yes they should be informed of the facts about their actions but it is not our job to make people feel bad about their lack of knowledge.

I do know the NIMH states suicide is the 3rd leading cause of fatalities of people between the ages of 13 and 30. I think that tells you its fairly common for young people to be suffering from depression.

That may seem difficult too, but there are a lot of people out there who have interests that do not revolve around alcohol.

Thanks for responding. It is wine, wine, wine. I sold it for years so was always around it, then spent 2 yrs in England where it was acceptable at lunch, etc. and was dating an alcoholic who validated it. Now I can't even imagine a meal without it....or an evening. I associate it with everything. My father is a "functioning" alcoholic and I don't want to follow that path...I'm sick of feeling sick and tired.

Let me tell you my story, and maybe it will give you some hope. I was a binge drinker from age 15-26. Then, I drank to excess every night of the week from age 27-41. My body finally rebelled and I started having all kinds of symptoms- rapid heartbeats, high blood pressure, pain in my right side, and dizziness. I ended up having an "incident" that felt like a heart attack - I don't know what it was, but it left my brain in a fog for 6 weeks.
