Avatar m tn Maybe you were trying to be diplomatic or play it safe but the facts suggest that your statement was flat out wrong. Alcohol has NEVER been shown to play ANY role in HCV reactivation.
10476455 tn?1423121400 I say of you're afraid of alcohol getting into your milk, I would pump it before you decide to have some drinks :) Breastfeeding helps you lose weight. And your boobs will sag regardless of what you do.
466909 tn?1207568232 It's nobody's fault but mine that I'm an addict. If I didn't take Oxycontin, I would have found my addiction in the bottom of a bottle of alcohol or another substance. The fact is that Oxycontin, when used correctly and responsibly, helps millions of people with chronic pain live normal lives. It's selfish addictive thinking that makes my addiction more important than their quality of life.

148588 tn?1465778809 There are so many different studies and opinions on this issue, I don't think it will ever be resolved... We all know that study data can be skewed any way one wants to skew it, in order to come up with the preferred results. By the way, the video in the link I posted is exactly the same as the video in the original post.
2109562 tn?1347253848 If they're irregular, it's possible she's not even the whole 3 months along, which would kind of help because the sooner you quit the better. However, she won't know until the doc appt and shouldn't stress too much about it. What's done is done and cannot be reversed. There's no hard facts on small amounts of liquor because they can't really study it to say ok stop, this much more and your baby will have FAS.
Avatar f tn actually drinking alcohol helps lower your sugar levels because even though alcohol has carbs the sugar does not get into your system because of the alcohol.. so i say, if your gonna have a shake, make sure to drink a bit before and a lil after... or like when my numbers were in 400's one weekend cause of a cookout, i drank a little and they went to 110 :) so just drink when you wanna help your numbers..

Avatar n tn i would report this to your physician. it sounds as though you could have a renal (kidney) insufficiency problem possibly involving your liver. you need labwork to determine this.
Avatar f tn All the best. I wish I had better to report too.
163305 tn?1333668571 No one would refuse to give coronary artery stents or bypass grafts to a veteran who smokes but veterans who do not completely abstain from alcohol for three months are refused antiviral therapy. In spite of difficulties, 585 of 1372 (43%) HCV RNA positive patients received antiviral therapy between 1998 and 2010 at our local VA hospital; 226 of 583 treated (39%) achieved SVR [2]. 36% of deaths were from HCC or liver failure.

Avatar f tn First of all, I would like to thank this forum for helping me understand. I have booked an appointment with the Leading Hepatologist at NY Presbyterian and feel good about it. Prior I was just going to my local GI.I can't get into him until May but do have my biopsy report and wonder if anyone can answer the following: I am Grade II and Stage III 1. Trichrome Staining: Present? 2. Reticulum Staining: Present? 3. Focal minimal microvesicular fatty infiltration? 4.
Avatar m tn Although alcohol does affect ferility, I don't think this would be a huge problem right now. I would, however, strongly suggest having her go to her obgyn and getting a full check up. It's better to know up front if there could be any problems and what you guys should or should not be doing.
Avatar f tn A Comprehensive Metabolic Panel and CBC panels will be a good start. No more alcohol until you have found out what is going on. Take care.
1549305 tn?1293945206 I was told by this nurse who was reading the report that nothing was mentioned about the edges but she said I could ask about it when I have the biopsy done. I also commented that I read online that 80% of nodules are found to be benign and the nurse agreed with me. BUT I wondered why this fact was not brought up after my ultrasound as encouragement for being hopeful. Such an omission led me to assume 'cancer' was inevitable.
Avatar m tn Hello, What was the cause of rise in liver enzymes in your case? At present you need to be liver friendly and I will advise you to avoid drinking alcohol. Alcohol speeds the progression of liver disease. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean protein. Healthy foods help keep you strong, give you more energy and support your immune system. For more queries and assistance consult your primary care physician. Hope it helped. Best wishes and regards!
