676912 tn?1332812551 I used weight watchers method to lose the almost 40lbs I gained with Franky. It's basically portion control and food choices. If you want to eat mcdonalds you can, but then that is all you are allowed to eat for the day pretty much...lol. I bought the book set on ebay for $50 I think, and never joined the group just did it on my own. It tells you all the foods points even for restaraunts, and how many you are allowed for your specific body type and goals.
Avatar m tn ve been following Weight Watchers for 2 months, very faithfully, writing everything down, staying within my points range and I haven't lost a pound! Up 1lb. one week, down 1lb. the next week. This goes on week after week and I stay the same. I exercise my butt off at least 6 days a week for an hour or more a day. Cardio/weight training and Karate 3x a week. I've had my Thyroid checked and everything is normal. I've done Weight Watchers in the past and have been very successful.
Avatar f tn Go to a dietician and evaluate your diet and based on your BMI prepare the no of calories you should consume to lose weight during the weight loss programme you are undergoing and stick to this. Select any form of exercise which is suitable to you and where you lose maximum calories, for this discuss with a Physical trainer. Take care!
Avatar f tn Have you tried tracking your calories in the food diary so that you can keep track of everything that you eat? If weight watchers (a very low calorie eating plan) worked in the past, chances are, you are currently eating too many calories and need to cut back on the calories and increase your exercise. As much as I hate to hear it and say it.....it is calories in vs calories out. Maybe consider joining weight watchers again if that has worked in the past. Good Luck!
1766274 tn?1326743907 It's all about calories -- even weight watchers can sometims give too many points -- for most women, the calorie intake should be no more than 1200 per day.
Avatar n tn From the weight you stated, you seem to need to loss more weight. I suggest you go back to Weight Watchers where you will have a support group and eat healthy. Set small weight goals (1/2lb – 1lb a week) and loss the weight slowly. The slower you loss the weight, easier it is to maintain the lost weight, and adapt to the new healthy life change. You can do it. You did it before with much success and you can do it again. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn I am just using Weight Watchers as an example. If you buy the pre-packaged foods which do work on keeping you on track with your points etc. The sodium content is too high in these prepared foods. Its not just Weight Watchers, its South Beach Diet, etc.
Avatar f tn Has anyone done this diet and seen the results they were looking for? I'm very interested in Weight Watchers and would like to hear people's experiences to know I'm not going to wasting my time and money..... Any responses are welcome. THANKS.
1905208 tn?1321793187 The problem with taking drugs or other weight loss aids is that once you go off them, it's extremely likely that you will regain the weight. I've tried green tea and it's never done anything for me, but if it works for you, great. According to Dr James Beckerman, who is a cardiologist on the MH site, there is no scientific data to support the HCG diet.
Avatar f tn feeling like I was advised I would?
Avatar f tn t eat too many calories. I have had more patients lose weight and keep it off with Weight Watchers than anything else - Weight Watchers will teach you how to lose, and if you go to meetings you have to be accountable for your weight loss (or not) - and that helps with the motivation.
1407457 tn?1281317353 Does anyone know much about the best way to lose weight with PCOS? I currently do weight watchers and will lose small amounts, but my doctor did mention watching how many carbs i'm eating. I need more direction than that though. With weight watchers we don't even look at carbs so I don't know if it's possible to do both. Any suggestions on the best way to lose some weight??

Avatar f tn I think there are two types of Weight Watchers plans you can do, the plan where you count points and the one where it is a lower carb diet. Anyways, I gained weight on weight watchers before, when there wasn't the lower carb choice. I am now doign South Beach and have had success this week.
Avatar f tn It was mentally tough for me to take first step forward but two months out of radiation I started weight watchers - I have lost 6 lbs so far. I am walking 5 days a week - I started off very very slow..but I am trying to build up walking distance...I am not worried about speed right now as I still have lot of fatigue and shortness of breath related to treatment.

Avatar f tn If you consume fewer calories than you burn, you will lose weight, simple as that. So, I guess the old weight watchers type are as good as any.

2090601 tn?1334515062 Optifast is program that comes in stages starting with a liquid diet then gradually reintroducing food. Unless you are obese or seriously overweight I'm not sure this potentially pricey program is the one for you, especially since you are not hungry anyway. To be honest, I'm not sure even Weight Watchers is a great idea while you are treating. Like others I agree focusing on eating healthy and remaining active is the way to go.
20826041 tn?1525217495 The short answer is, take in fewer calories than you burn, and you will lose weight. Take in more calories than you burn, you will gain. But the question is, how do you do this? Your best bet is to do things the natural way. Cut back 10% on the eating and increase by 10% the activity, and see if you see a difference on the scale in a week, two weeks or three weeks. Then try a larger percent.
Avatar f tn Ok, So I am 22 and I way 15 stone, which I am embarassed about because all of my friends have very beautiful bodies and then theres me at size 16/18. When I was younger I wasn't over weight or even chubby. I did dancing for 4 hours a week and when i quit when I was 16 this is when I noticed I started to put a lot of weight on however I carried on doing exercise every week. I do not over eight, although I do tend to eat the wrong things.
266539 tn?1281402152 t know, but they do. i loved weight watchers and would recommend them to anyone, you lose the weight without having to give up everything you like and you don't have to buy special foods.
Avatar m tn I would say normal weight now. I've been doing some running and hitting the gym. My diet is improving but the information out there seems so conflicting. One source argues for a low -carb diet whilst another source argues against a low carb diet. I've been doing this for say a week or two and I have noticed some weight loss in the stomach area. However, when I turn my attention to the chest area- there appears to be no changes.
