It faulted alcohol for being even easier to burn than carbs, so your body stores all your food and burns the alcohol instead, hence the "beer belly". While I agree with caregiver222, that 1000 calories is 1000 calories; if you make that 1000 calories a mix of fruits, veggies, dairy, lean meats, nuts, etc --- you will be much healthier and more likely to lose weight than if you get that 1000 calories from 5 candy bars (200 calories/each) throughout the day........... there's a huge difference........

362249 tn?1441315018 Alcohol can trick you. It has calories so must be taken into account in your daily caloric counts but it does dehydrate you. Providing you don't drink alcohol the next day you will rehydrate and be back where you should be providing you didn't immensely go over your calorie intake. I just count it as it is since I weigh in daily.
Avatar f tn What list are you talking about? Can't imagine any diet that would recommend anything at McDonalds, as nothing there is healthy or easily digested no matter what the amount of calories are. Digestibility is as or more important than calories, and health is above all other issues.

Avatar f tn If you consume more calories then it takes to stay the same weight (no matter how much you work out). Make a list of low calorie foods that you like and the amount of calories in each. Try to make that list very long. Set a self-goal of less than 1500 calories as your daily intake. Exercise is good for you in many ways, but by itself has only a moderate effect for weight control. But the combined effect of low-calorie food and exercise will have faster results for weight loss.

1661682 tn?1313135396 It might be easier to list what you should avoid while pregnant. :) You don't want to eat Raw Meat, Fish high in Mercury---stuff like shark, swordfish, etc---raw eggs, soft cheeses like Brie, Gorgonzola, etc, Alcohol, unwashed fruits and vegetables and of course you want to limit amounts of caffeine to under 300mg a day. Any lunch meats you eat should also be heated up to reduce any risk of Listeria, but I know many who don't bother to do this.
