My guess is that you have a candida infection, and that your alcohol is feeding the candida, being one of it's favourite sources of energy for growth. If you feel the need to consume alcohol, it's not just your brain that wants it, it's the candida also that wants it!

Avatar m tn I've had severe serotonin deficiency myself notably from vitamin B12 deficiency from autoimmune pernicious anaemia (I take sublingual B12 spray which is amazing!) but from MANY other causes from hypothyroidism to insulin resistance to vitamin D deficiency. Avatar f tn I had a few of your symptoms due to vitamin D and magnesium deficiency. From your list - pain, phelgm in my throat that I could not clear (ugh!) from vitamin D deficiency. My level was 30 nmol/L (12 ng/L). Optimal vitamin D range is 100 - 150 nmol/L (40 - 60 ng/L). Magnesium deficiency (severe) symptoms including widespread pain (misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia), excessive thirst, insomnia, vitamin D resistance (magnesium is a cofactor for vitamin D absorption).

You have a polyneuropathy which could be due to vitamin B12 deficiency,B6 deficiency, alcoholism, diabetes, uremia etc. You need to stop alcohol intake, supplement vitamins, investigate with blood tests if you have diabetes and renal function. MRI spine should also be done to look for any disc herniation causing the tingling, numbness. A detailed neurological examination for sensory, motor systems and autonomic system, the reflexes should all be checked for any associated deficits.
