1621722 tn?1333050499 Welcome to the forum. None of us are qualified to give you any sort of diagnosis, especially online. If you're using alcohol as a way to deal with anxiety and depression, you could be heading down a slippery slope. It already sounds as though you need to figure out exactly how bad your "problem" with alcohol is...and the sooner the better, before it gets any worse.
Avatar n tn You have good reason to be worried. I doubt whether an a doctor would tell your daughter that there is no danger in this combination of drugs. This is indeed a dangerous combination and although she may be lucky and have no effect she is taking a very big risk and she should know that.
362971 tn?1201987034 Virtually all large trials of therapy of hepatitis C have excluded persons who have a recent history of alcohol abuse, requiring a one- to two-year period of abstinence before therapy is initiated. However, the need for a period of abstinence has never been shown. Among patients treated for hepatitis C, a proportion continued drinking, and the ultimate response rate correlated inversely with the level of alcohol intake during therapy.
Avatar f tn It's hard telling but I was put on Geodon and then Risperdal and finally Abilify and I have a history of alcohol abuse and you're not supposed to drink while on any of those and I never did anything like that but those are different medications and I am a different person altogether. I would say if he doesn't normally do this ever while intoxicated something is out of whack there but some people have a tendency to eventually turn violent no matter what while being drunk.
1255505 tn?1272819115 How many people here have a history of substance abuse? Did it result from or result in any episodes? I abused cannabis off and on from 13 to 20. I abused LSD from 16 to 20. I abused alcohol off and on from 21 to 37. I abused morphine & oxycodone at 40. Yikes! I also tried a few other things, but they never really took hold.
Avatar f tn Becoming free from alcohol is a very doable thing. But remaining free from alcohol takes work. I had to take part in my own recovery and work on myself so I would change. If I don't change nothing changes. Nobody could do that for me. But there are millions of us in recovery all over the world. So freedom for you is out there waiting. Keep your willingness and continue to make the steps in the right direction like you've described in your post. You don't have to be sick anymore.
1563920 tn?1299288683 If you look at my past posts, I have been dealing with neurological issues for some time now. I have been very depressed about everything, from having to quit nursing to my inability to work and drive. During this time, I have been turning to alcohol to kind of deal with my problems, not such a good idea, I know!!! It hadn't seemed to be a problem until last night. A group of my friends, including my boyfriend, went out for my birthday.
Avatar n tn as a rule narcs can be stopped much less dangerously than heavy alcohol abuse//physically// cos as a rule there is no risks unless a narc user is old and has heart failure//mentally both r a true bumber//and aftercare for alcohol abuse is almost imperative cos it is everywhere//and drug abuse is not socially acceptable like alcohol is..peeps do not pass out oxys at the bowling alley like they do beers u didnt state what ur abuse issue was/or if there was one at all???..
Avatar m tn My doctor is informed of all of my symptoms and alcohol abuse history. He seems confused by my symptoms. I was just wondering if someone experienced something similar during or after their abuse of alcohol.

Avatar f tn Welcome to the Anxiety Forum! Sorry you're going through this. We'll try to help you. Quick question...why did your doctor recommend stopping the Klonopin? Because of your alcoholism history? Was there any abuse of this med, were you taking more than Rx'd, for example? What did she say? Was she the same doc that put you on the Klonopin from the beginning? If you took the med as prescribed and it (obviously) worked for you...then my advice to you is FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR.

Avatar n tn Our daughter was forced to have unsupervised custody last week where she informed us that he was vomiting all evening. I have researched symptoms of alcohol and Tylenol abuse and found possible signs of liver damage. For the concern of my daughter, we are extremely scared on what he is capable of when she see's him. We are hoping anyone who has experience on this could offer us advise.
Avatar n tn This cousin has a rather long history of serious behavioral problems and is the child of a mother who abuses alcohol and drugs, and has many "boyfriends" coming through their home. My daughter-in-law and her mother (who is the primary caregiver of the cousin) decided the children could continue to play together but either supervision. This other child has bullied my granddaughter in front of them, and the abuse took place right under their noses.
Avatar f tn I have been drinking about two six packs of beer each day for about 7 months. I have decided to try quitting once again. I have read how some people have seizures when they abruptly stop drinking. Does anyone know when you are out of the "danger zone" when you withdraw from alcohol abuse?
Avatar n tn considering my history of alcohol abuse (plus other factors such as being a small framed female, binge drinking repeatedly on an empty stomach, and cigarette smoking), and development of Terry's nails, should I push my doctor to perform more tests even though my liver enzymes were normal and I have no other symptoms?
