1154802 tn?1266485720 If by inhaler you mean the dose measured albuterol, I would say use albuterol in a nebulizer instead. The reason I prefer the nebulizer is that you can use as little as you need since it is not measured. I have a small portable nebulizer (slightly bigger than a cell phone) which I take everywhere with me. As far as effictiveness is concerned, albuterol is albuterol no matter how you take it. I got off the inhaled steroids because they were killing me (literally).
Avatar m tn they come in unit dose vials. Systane, Optive, Thera Tears are some that are available in unit dose vials. You open a vial and use it as many times as needed during the day, and then discard the vial at night. This way you eliminate preservative exposure on the eye surface. I would also recommend a good multivitamin and Omega 3 (fish oil) supplementation.
Avatar f tn I purchased the Omron Portable Ultrasonic Nebulizer and am using the vials of Albuterol and Ipratropium. I can only use 1/2 vial because more than that speeds my heart up too much. Can I save the last 1/2 of the vial for later use? Does anybody know of a more affordable way to get the medicine I need? I am paying out of pocket and this economy gets harder every day it seems like.
Avatar m tn Thera Tears, Refresh, or Optive are good ones. These come in unit dose vials; she may use the drop as often as she needs during the day, and then discards the open vial at the end of the day. She should wait 10 minutes after the glaucoma drops before instilling an artificial tear, so as not to flush out the medicine. She should ask her doctor if one of the glaucoma drops could be causing the redness and inflammation.
Avatar f tn The Coreg, in the right dose, should help her heart beat more efficiently and stronger, helping to pump the fluid from her lungs, and the lasix would help clear the fluid from her system. Something else that I have had in the past, for CHF, is albuterol. While most doctors don't like to use it with heart patients, it works real well for clearing the lungs. Albuterol took me from 100% whiteout, to completely clear lungs in about 20 minutes, and they stayed clear for several days.
Avatar f tn I am runningout of the sperm supply (only 6 vials left, and I normally do 2 vials per IUI) and I want to make sure the timing is right. any thoughts? many thanks, and good luck!
Avatar m tn thanks in advance... i cleaned my apartment with mold/mildew (bleach) cleaner 1 day in 2012, and never stopped wheezing. the MD said i had exercise induced asthma, because i do/DID have those symptoms when i exercised. now, i wheeze without doing anything. another MD said i have asthma, at the age of 32. i thought my air conditioner was too cold OR/AND too dry, but a new humidifier did nothing for me and i have been outside in colder weather than the AC (77 degrees).
Avatar f tn I was having a hard time breathing 2 nights ago and decided to try my daughters albuterol inhaler. I used 5 puffs over a 24 hour period. I dont know why but I assumed it was harmless to use while pregnant. Now im looking online and see its a class C! Im nervous I may have done harm to baby. Anyone else use albuterol while pregnant first trimester?
Avatar f tn Hi, Asthma cannot worsen angina but over use of inhaler albuterol can lead to low potassium levels in the blood, which in turn can cause palpitations, arrhythmias, irregular beats etc. So if you are experiencing frequent attacks of asthma, you should try to prevent triggering agents which cause asthma and also get evaluated by a pulmonologist for correction of dose of polemicist for preventing further attacks of asthma. Hope this helps. Best.
1014822 tn?1338648073 How many vials you need depends on your dose and how fast your folls grow. I used 3-4 vials for 1 cycle. Women on the highest dose would use 1 vial per day. Good luck!
Avatar n tn recently diagnosed with COPD/emphysema. hospitalized three times: finally determined that i'm allergic to sulfate based albuterol, combivent, all of the usual "suspects." i'm now on advair (one week= 115 ) and doing okay - except the only rescue inhaler i can tolerate is primotene mist. just took an oximeter test - came out 86-87. i think it's too soon to go on oxygen, until we see if advair works. but i worry about the advair too.
Avatar m tn Adult Patients When dose modification of PEGASYS is required for adverse reactions (clinical and/or laboratory), initial dose reduction to 135 mcg (which is 0.75 mL for the vials or adjustment to the corresponding graduation mark for the prefilled syringes) is recommended. Dose modification to 135 mcg per week can also be achieved by using a 135 mcg/0.5 mL strength disposable autoinjector. Dose reduction to 90 mcg (which is 0.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with an exercise induced asthma and prescribed a 90 mcg albuterol inhaler. I didn't use it much as I was fine most of the time. But just recently I have been having to use my inhaler every few hours or so because if I don't I get really short breathed. I don't know what's going on and it's worrying me.
Avatar f tn He told her to check into a unit and get off the meds except the anti rejection meds. Before she saw him (last week by the way) she had made up her mind to get off all of it anyway. She had already stopped the pain med she had been on for quite a while before she saw him and that shows she is serious about it. The likely reason for the shingles is an ortho gave her 3 steroid shots in a 2-3 month time period for very severe pain as her "hamstring" was torn loose in her pelvic area.
746512 tn?1388807580 I was just wondering if anyone here gets side effects from taking albuterol. I have only had the inhaler for about 2 weeks and notice very painful calf muscle cramps that occur a couple hours after taking the inhaler (suppose to pre-treat for a lecture hall that really bugs me). They seem to be getting worse with every dose (only noticed the last couple of times of using it), today my legs are still very sore and crampy and I took the dose 10 hours ago.
Avatar m tn one vial for the day, then throw it away. You may also need to consider Restasis, which is a prescription drop to treat the inflammation, and thus allow your eyes to produce more of their own tears. Take an oral multivitamin and fish oil (Omega 3) supplements, if OK with your primary doctor. Meibomian gland dysfunction, which can lead to lipid (oil) deficiency, is treated with warm compresses and lid hygiene, plus topical and oral antibiotics in some cases.
Avatar f tn I have PAD as well as pain in legs from fibromyalgia. Would a TENS unit be safe and probably helpful for my leg pain (especially calves)?
1501377 tn?1291508678 I got mine mostly in vials of 300 mcg and some in factory prefilled syringes. I also had an issue with my anc going very low each week and very high after injection so I injected twice per week. I reused the vial (1/2 each injection) which of course your not supposed to do but I assume is similar to the pharmacy filling their own syringes. Maybe the pharmacy version has a preservative in it and the single use does not.
Avatar n tn My pulmonary specialist just gave me an Advair Diskus and increased my Albuterol breathing treatments to 4-6 daily and my Combivent Inhaler every 4 hours. I almost died from an asthma attack last weekend. I had emergency heart surgery in June and have been having arrhythmias so I'm on a heart monitor for this month. I understand that Advair causes heart palpitations. Since I'm already having trouble with my heartbeat, I'm afraid to try the Advair.
179856 tn?1333547362 No endoscopy center should ever use 50 milliliter vials because medical workers would be tempted to reuse vials between patients instead of throwing away unused anesthetic, D'Attellis said. "There is no place for this in an endoscopy center," he said, holding a 50 milliliter vial. At Cedars-Sinai, 50 milliliter vials are banned from all surgery areas to avoid their misuse, he said. The larger bottles are only used for long-term sedation in intensive care units, he said.
Avatar f tn I started out on 40K per week and increased a few weeks after that. The vials came in a multi-dose pack of four. I ended up using the green (or 20,000 units/ 1 mL) and the ten which was the same size vial but it came in a red box (10,000 units) which I think was red. I strongly encourage you to call your doctor's office and make arrangements for a short training session. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. I was freaked when I received from first dose of Epo and the needles.
Avatar f tn Hi, I just saw it on my local nbc news, very nice. I thought I heard it say to let your doctor know if you take albuterol, why? That is a very common drug, I took it while taking Sovaldi. Just wondering. FYI I am coming up to my one EOT next week, and my 65th birthday.
Avatar f tn Sent me on my way with increased dose of prednisone and told me i was wheezing. Said my daughter was fine and she coughs so much ot makes her sob and requiring albuterol tx. I am at crossroads with her what to do.

Avatar n tn We are currently using an albuterol inhaler 15 min before his matches, also a Flovent inhaler twice a day, and have recently started taking singulair. Thus far these have not worked. Please help with any suggestions you may have...we are desperate to help our son succeed in the sport he loves.
Avatar n tn I took a one time dose of 40 mg of prednisone along with albuterol this past weekend due to being in an asthma attack, and Iam still experiencing side effects from the prednisone. How long does a one time dose of prednisone stay in your system, and how long can the side effects last?
