Avatar f tn Just added seroquel at 25 mg and ritalin in the afternoons. I was perscribed albuterol sulfate, ibuprofen 600 mg and zomig nasal as needed. Cold spells arent new and randomly come and go, normally lasting several hours and spreading along right side from face down. Feet and hands are normally cold, sometimes blotchy purple. Two weeks ago I had a clean MRI without contrast. I do not drink, use drugs or smoke. My appetite has been haywire lately and over a week I lost 16 pounds.
Avatar f tn does albuterol increase the heart rate in children, because after i gave it to my son i noticed that his heart was beating really hard a fast
Avatar n tn I gave a lot of thought before posting again, because I am sure you are the greastest mom and would never want to endanger your children. This post IS NOT a criticism, or an attempt to make you feel badly. Albuterol is a "last ditch" emergency medication. When you reach for the albuterol you are "reaching for lung reserve". Once that albuterol is ingested, the lung has no more reserve.
Avatar n tn Long-term use comes with serious side effects both for adults and for children, but more serious for children. If you are concerned ask your doctor for effective non-steroidal substitutes. I got off inhales steroids three years ago after suffering health problems caused by it. I now use natural anti-inflammatories plus nebulized albuterol and an anti-histamine.
Avatar n tn The oral medications come in various concentrations, so depending on the prescription you may or may not have a problem.
Avatar n tn If he is taking albuterol for treatment of asthma, this could be the culprit. I used to take albuterol to treat my asthma symptoms but my Dr suggested a change to Atrovent. I can understand your concerns about putting him through an ablation procedure. My daughter has had similar episodes when she was 8. We were sent to a pedi cardio who gave us an event monitor. Needless to say, the only thing the event monitor did was to send her into a panic state thinking the thing would zap her.
435139 tn?1255460391 even walking from one room to another is a huge toll on me...I read that albuterol is a class C drug and has not been studied in pregnancy in humans...in animals is is linked to cleft palate defects and other defects too! Since I am in the 2ww I am not sure if I took my albuterol in my nebulizer if I'd be risking my potential babies health. I'll call my pharmacist or dr. in a couple hours but it is only 5 a.m. and I won't be able to call until 9...when they open.
Avatar f tn I had the flu (a long with my husband and children) we were all really sick for about 5 days. Everyone got over it except for me. I don't feel like it is the flu now though. I have a horrible cough. So 5 days ago I went to the Urgent Care and Dr said probably pneumonia. She gave me antibiotics, prednisone, and albuterol. It has been 5 days. The fevers are just higher. They dont even get better with ibuprofen. I can't function. I have small kids. I feel to sick to drive to the doctor.
Avatar f tn The product will remain on the market, but new label information will be added about risks of accidental ingestion resulting in overdose and death in children younger than 10. Benzonatate was approved in 1958 for treatment of coughs in patients 10 and older. It is available in 100- and 200-mg dosage forms. An FDA review of adverse event reports disclosed 31 cases of overdose in children and adults, ranging in age from 1 to 66.
356518 tn?1322263642 potential misuse, abuse, and overdose), tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blockers (cancers in young adults and children), Cymbalta (urinary retention), and Heparin (anaphylactic-type reactions).
Avatar f tn This season came around and sure enough, when he got a cold it went straight to lungs (wheezing, SOB, coughing) We started inhaled steroid (budesonide), albuterol regimen again. Proved unsuccessful to resolve cough. Round of Orapred proved unsuccessful to resolve cough. After four months we consulted with Pulmonologist. Switched up steriod to inhaled Flovent 44 instead of nebulizer and albuterol qid. No results. Chest x-ray and blood allergy (why not at this point) ordered and clear.
Avatar f tn Other than that it can be due to pinched cervical spinal nerves, clot in a blood vessel, localized dermatitis or even dandruff. Peripheral neuropathy as in diabetes too could be a cause. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn Do you really want to be giving your son Pulmicort under any circumstances? It is a corticosteroid with many side effects. For instance it compromises the immune system and weakens bones. For a growing boy that does not sound great. There are natural anti-inflammatories that actually work better than steroids and which do not harm the patient. The albuterol is OK.
Avatar n tn I have two children. My daughter is 2 and my son will be 1 in April. They both have horrible breathing problems. My daughter's breathing started to get nasty around 5 months of age and has been good and bad since. My son's breathing just started recently. They are both on pulmacort and albuterol and my son was just put on predisolone. Nothing is working!! Does anyone have any advice? We are a NON smoking home and would NEVER let anyone near our children with ciggarettes.
Avatar m tn Tonight sadeness me so much one of my feinds i left behind in he world of addicts has been found dead leaving behind a wife and two young children, I am happy that we got out when we did as it could have been so easily me or my wife.
Avatar n tn severe drowsiness. In children, symptoms may include: restlessness and irritability, and may be followed by drowsiness. Avatar n tn Hi, The golden rule is unless recommended by a doctor, do not take supplements, get the necessary nutrients directly from food only. Supplementation can very often overdose your body with vitamins and minerals, which can adversely affect. In your case, stop if possible, the supplements for few days and see if the symptoms go away, if so, do not take them, orelse, talk to your doctor about the symptoms.
Avatar n tn Albuterol is a bronchodilator used to treat many of the same issues as Flovent, but it can also be used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Albuterol comes in a syrup, tablet, or as a suspension in an inhaler. Albuterol works by causing the passages to the lung to relax and open, which makes breathing easier.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with an exercise induced asthma and prescribed a 90 mcg albuterol inhaler. I didn't use it much as I was fine most of the time. But just recently I have been having to use my inhaler every few hours or so because if I don't I get really short breathed. I don't know what's going on and it's worrying me.
Avatar f tn My dr had me on albuterol in the 1st tri of my last preg...I couldn't breathe and used it for a week. No harm to baby.

Avatar n tn As you know the clinical trials of Pulmicort Flexhaler® (budesonide inhalation powder) were performed on children age 6 and above. Since we know the medicine is safe for use in very young children from Pulmicort Respules™ (budesonide inhalation suspension) the most likely reason they chose 6 and above was because many children less than age 6 would not be able to use this delivery device effectively.
Avatar n tn she feels she can not breath ( the emerg. center gave her albuterol and sent her to the hosp in an ambulanc) her blood pressure was, 170 over 90 (at rest her heart rate 170 give or take she is 5'8" slim and no drugs were found in the blood test She was seen at university hosp Lexington Ky......
585477 tn?1218360618 but, you are not in the best place right now to be caring full-time for your children. You are vulnerable, anxious, scared, confused, hurt. And, obviously...if you are suicidal, you are not in the best frame of mind. YOU are going to change that. The BEST revenge, wanda...is living well. When, down the road you can free yourself from this man...and be happy with YOURSELF because YOU have made things good for yourself and your kids....THAT will be the Karma.
215461 tn?1331862765 When he was 1 he caught his first cold which started causing wheezing and he had to go to the ER and was given a nebulizer with albuterol. He has been fine throughout the years except for when he catches a cold. Then he will cough nonstop and has developed croup several times. He always needs a steroid when this happens. Now he has been pretty sick almost since November. It won't go away. He is on albuterol, singulair, and another liquid steroid at the moment.
1754037 tn?1327886811 So far ultrasounds say my little man is still healthy. I was never advised by my ob/gyn to not take the albuterol. In my opinion even if there is a risk using albuterol it wouldn't be a big one or OB's would not allow so many pregnant women to use them. Also the risk of not using it could be so much worse. It is important that you are able to breathe so your baby develops properly. You should ask your Ob about the steriod for sure. hope this helped.
944787 tn?1287084773 Many doctors are reluctant to give the diagnosis of asthma in young children (under 8 yr). This could be why they are not going there. Try keeping a diary af her symptoms and any possible triggers - pollen counts available on line (I can give you a link if you want one), animal exposures, diet, where she was at the time of the attack, any odors present (fragrances are major triggers for many people but any chemical smell as well), weather or weather changes...
587778 tn?1261397118 3 weeks ago my 16 year old daughter had a bad reaction to the fumes that her art supplies produced. She was treated for asthma in the ER and sent home with an albuterol inhaler and prednisone. Within a few days, she was hospitalized due to a severe reaction to the prednisone and albuterol. She will never be able to take any medication with a steroid. Since then, she has had exercise and cold induced attacks.
