Avatar f tn You should not be taking this form of steroid on a long term basis. There are many good steroid inhalers with or without a long acting beta-agonist that can be taken on a regular basis. I find that when my asthma is in control, then exercising becomes easier too. If you do running outside in the winter time, then you might not be able to achieve a good run without having many breathing problems. But rather move your exercising indoors and you should find that it's not a problem.
Avatar n tn I was told by my doc that Combivent just has an additional allergy medicine in it, in addition to the albuterol. It shouldn't hurt you, I wouldn't think. I have allergies also and this inhaler worked great for me.
Avatar n tn Budecort is an inhaled steroid. Long-term use comes with serious side effects both for adults and for children, but more serious for children. If you are concerned ask your doctor for effective non-steroidal substitutes. I got off inhales steroids three years ago after suffering health problems caused by it. I now use natural anti-inflammatories plus nebulized albuterol and an anti-histamine.
Avatar f tn Ok, I stand corrected. Albuterol is called albuterol outside the US.
Avatar n tn albuterol inhalers ARE prescribed to be used before exercising in exercise induced asthma.
Avatar f tn They certainly hear all the negative media coverage damning the prescription and use of long term opiates. If we influence or change one person's negative attitude towards chronic pain and its management than we are fighting the war against us! Yes the War against Us, Against Chronic Pain Patients. You should not be shamed or harassed into this position, "stop the mess and live in constant pain." Taking your husband to your next appt along with educating him may be beneficial.
Avatar m tn The only reason that I ask is that I've heard on of the long-term side effects on dxm use is being a bit lathargic. I'm that way now and the VA did an MRI of my brain and found that my adrenal glad had begun to shrink so, it wasn't producing enough of the thyroid hormone.....I can already tell I'm got some defects from the long term use in my cognitive abilities. I'm down to 18 pills day. 1 pill every two days. The morning w/draws have pretty much stopped.
Avatar n tn Is there any info about long term plavix use. I have been taking Plavix along with Lisinopril and Toprol for the past two years after quad bypass but I don't feel very good about it anymore. Any info as in is this medicine weakening my internal organs.
Avatar f tn I have recently been feeling full of regret, very emotional and tearful, I have been informed this amy be due to the long term use of Naltrexone, and lack of natural endorphins , so i have been advised by my CDT Nurse to start thinking about coming off of them, is this right? Other wise, my life is so good compared to what it was, I am happy, but just feel like the past keeps wanting me to remember how bad things were... could my 'miracle' now be becoming my tormenter?
Avatar m tn Dear whoever may know, I was diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorder 2 1/2 years ago, and I have been taking Lexapro at 10 mg per day ever since. The medicine has really seemed to have helped my life in all aspects. Whether it has really helped or if this is some kind of placebo effect, I am unsure. I still have moments of reasonable stress at work, but who doesn't...most importantly, I don't have panic attacks anymore.
Avatar f tn I have asthma to and the moment my doctor know that I was expecting she told me do not use my albuterol and change my pomp to one I can use with my pregnetcy!!! So u should talk to u doctor and aks!!!
Avatar n tn These depress the immune system and lead to osteoporosis. Steroids can also cause adrenal fatigue, especially with long-term use. I have sworn off all steroids, having suffered the worst of their side effects. I take albuterol and antihistamines and, in the place of steroids, take natural anti-inflammatories which safe, cheap, and more effective than steroids. But, hey, the drug companies can't make any money on them.
746512 tn?1388807580 Your doctor should have prescribed ipratropium bromide. Use the albuterol to open the airway, and three minutes later use the ipratopium bromide (Atrovent). Use the albuterol only when your symptoms come up, because the airways can become less responsive when this medication is over-used, and you want it when you need it. And follow the instructions, of have someone in an asthma clinic review them with you.
