Albuterol ipratropium nebulizer

Common Questions and Answers about Albuterol ipratropium nebulizer

atrovent

Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
Avatar f tn I purchased the Omron Portable Ultrasonic Nebulizer and am using the vials of Albuterol and Ipratropium. I can only use 1/2 vial because more than that speeds my heart up too much. Can I save the last 1/2 of the vial for later use? Does anybody know of a more affordable way to get the medicine I need? I am paying out of pocket and this economy gets harder every day it seems like.
Avatar n tn Xopenx 1.25 mg and Ipratropium Bromide 0.02%.
Avatar n tn P.S. Albuterol, if you are using it, is drying. That is another reason for using a mucolytic. I use an albuterol combination in a nebulizer. I can't do without it, but the B5 reverses the drying.
Avatar f tn Yes, Atrovent is ipratropium bromide is used for COPD. I use Duoneb which is a combination of albuterol and ipratropium. You are making me wonder if I can manage with ipratropium alone. I have never tried it. I will ask my lung doctor. I use a portable nebulizer. With that I can take as little as I need (or as much).
Avatar f tn The only prescription medication I use now is Duoneb (albuterol and ipratropium) in a nebulizer. I use about two ampules a day. I do not use a rescue inhaler. Instead I have a small, portable nebulizer. It is so small that it fits into my purse. The advantage is that I can take as little as I need, sometimes just a few puffs. It is made by Omron and costs about $200. It is worth every cent.
Avatar n tn But you can use the Albuterol and the Ipratropium to keep the lungs clear instead of the prednisone for at least two weeks. Make sure you have enough solution on hand. You can always go back to the prednisone. I think you need at least a week off the prednisone. That is a half-____ guess.I wouldad that allphysicians treat with prednisone plus antibiotics. My opinion is this is going in two different directions.I am not going to go into "tapeting off".
757137 tn?1347196453 This is used as an alternative to Albuterol if the side effects are severe with Albuterol. This could also be used in conjunction with Albuterol, to relieve acute flare ups of Asthma. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn My son is taking albuterol through the nebulizer. He is having nose bleeds Is this common?
1507301 tn?1289936394 I use a nebulizer (albuterol and ipratropium), and take natural anti-inflammatories and an antihistamine for allergies. If you get a peak flow meter you will be able to assess your condition (not the infection, of course) and your progress, or lack thereof.
Avatar f tn Phill, the nebulizer just delivers the albuterol in a better form, doesn't it? It's still albuterol? If your doc knows you're on that, it sounds like it would probably be safe to take. Do you have an after hours nurse you could call to confirm that? If you can't get your breathing under control and you feel like you can't catch your breath it's an emergency situation - you can always go to the ER and they will treat you right away. Best wishes with it.
1154802 tn?1266485720 If by inhaler you mean the dose measured albuterol, I would say use albuterol in a nebulizer instead. The reason I prefer the nebulizer is that you can use as little as you need since it is not measured. I have a small portable nebulizer (slightly bigger than a cell phone) which I take everywhere with me. As far as effictiveness is concerned, albuterol is albuterol no matter how you take it. I got off the inhaled steroids because they were killing me (literally).
Avatar n tn I am using Duoneb with nebulizer 5 or 6 times a day. Also I just started Spiriva one time a day. I have started having a very tight feeling in my chest. I feel it is beause the two meds are contraindicated. If this is true, how may I wean from the Duoneb? My family physician has diagnosed me as having COPD. Thank you.
Avatar f tn ll probably have a slightly accelerated heart rate and feel your heart beating (palpitations) for about 10-15 minutes. You mentioned a machine. Are you using a nebulizer at home? Again, albuterol is usually used in the nebulizer and it takes about 15 minutes to finish the breathing treatment. You will feel the faster heart rate and possibly some muscle twitches and shakes for awhile after the treatment; that lasts about 30 minutes for me. How often are you using the albuterol?
Avatar f tn My physician has prescribed both Advair 50/250 and Spiriva, along with Pro Air p4-6h prn and nebulizer treatment (Albuterol) q4-6h prn. I am still having problems breathing. Is it okay to take these all at the same time? Will there be any side effects?
Avatar f tn In the United States an albuterol nebulizer requires a prescription. Pharmacists will refuse to provide one even if they see you dying on the floor. These should be made non-prescription. Wall-mart has the best prices, but you much purchase in-store.
Avatar f tn Sinusitis, chronic bronchitis then COPD. All because doctors refused to treat the sinusitis. Because of this I can't afford the meds that are the staple of COPD treatment. But it did lead me into an alternative that works better and with less side effects. Benadryl works on the same principle as does ipratropium but I have never been told to use it. I can't tolerate Advair (causes angina) nor Albuterol (causes worse congestion and coughing).
Avatar m tn My 20 month old son has asthma. He is on twice a day nebulizer of budesodine. I think it is very similar to pulmocort. He has developed a very red rash in the exact area of the mask. I am trying to get him off the mask and to the pipe but it has been difficult. He has been treated with many things from hydrocortisone to various antibiotic creams, ointments, and currently erythromycin gel. The gel is mainly alcohol and really burns his face. Does anyone have any ideas of how to help?
1754037 tn?1327886811 I was taking albuterol in a nebulizer machine a minimum of 4-5 times a day..he switched me over to a new nebulizer med called Xopenex, that he says will have less effect on the baby and I actually think it works better. But he told me to keep my rescue inhaler just in case, and use it if I needed it too.
Avatar m tn For the past week i have been having extreme difficulties with my asthma and no matter what i do or where i go nothing is working, my albuterol solution and iprotrium bromide for the nebulizer, my albuterol sulfate inhaler, anti-allergen medications, even herbal treatments nothing is working at all, i have frequented my doctor he says my lungs sound clear and my oxygen blood level is reading good, however there is a tightness in my left lung and its hard to breathe, im having to use the nebulize
Avatar n tn I have just googled and it appears that the answer is yes it can be used, however I suggest that you google and take a look at what they say , we do have a doctor/expert forum on MH and I think you should put this question up there for a more qualified opinion, good Luck
7458937 tn?1391882099 Not really pregnancy related I don't guess, but I just found an empty tube of Albuterol in my room. Which wouldn't make any normal person fall to pieces crying on the floor. Except that it fell out of one of my sisters shirts as I was putting it away, and she passed away almost 2 years ago from CF. I'm so heartbroken she won't be here to experience this with me, but I guess that's how life works..
Avatar f tn I have not used Spiriva so I am unsure of its dosage, but I have taken ipratropium which is in the same class. As a neb solution it lasts 6 hours and as an MDI it last 4 hours. Check your prescription for dosing on this medication. Advair is a combination medication used to treat COPD and asthma. It has two active components a cortocosteroid (antiinflamatory) AND an LABA (long acting beta2 agonist that lasts 12 hours). Beta2 agonists are the broncho-dilaters.
Avatar n tn my results were worse after the inhaler...i dont think i am allergic to albuterol as i have been taking it through a nebulizer on bad days...and it helps to an extent..another thing..is it possible for me to have COPD?? all the research i have done online suggests its usually found in people above 35...im 20 years old and i had been smoking for the past 4-5 years max..
1987536 tn?1337916244 Albuterol doesn't bother me as much as advair after reading bunches of articles :(
Avatar f tn I spent the next 3 months going through Albuterol inhalers and albuterol in my nebulizer. And also then Budesonide in my nebulizer. Nothing helped. I was having near-death experiences trying to get to the nebulizer to open up my air passages. I finally called my pharmacy to find out why I did not get my advair and it turned out that I could still get it and my price was the same as always with my medicare. After just one day I was immediately on the mend.
678431 tn?1227554311 I use Albuterol Inhalers for my asthma and I've been recently having some trouble with 'em. My mom and I share the same dosages, which I find really weird since I just merely have asthma and she has emphysema as well. But, I've brought that to the attention of m doctor but she still said I needed the same dosage. Plus, it makes me really jittery and shaky.
