2 days ago I went to ER 8f4'>for difficulty breathing with horrible rhales on inspiration and expiration. I was diagnosed via catscan with right lobe pneumonia. I am on <span style = 'background-color: #dae<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>8</span>f4'>albuterol</span> 8f4'>for breathing, levaquin and predn8f4'>isone. I am stuck out of town with no doctor around. I am not feeling better, feel more like I cant breath- now turn bright red in face and chest when coughing.choking. Am I jumping the gun to head back to an er? or 8f4'>is it a waste of time?
If you suffer from these d8f4'>isorders you know the medications you need. 8f4'>for asthmatics, <span style = 'background-color: #dae<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>8</span>f4'>albuterol</span> Sulfate emergency inhalers, Predn8f4'>isone, Ipratropium Bromide, an expectorant, and optimally an electrically operated 8f4'>albuterol sulfate inhaler. You will be surpr8f4'>ised to find 8f4'>that there are 12 volt air compressers available 8f4'>for automobiles and f8f4'>ish tanks 8f4'>that can provide the compressed air supply. Adding a filter (but NOT fibreglass!) would help. If you are unsure of the filtering material use none.
8f4'>is it okay to use <span style = 'background-color: #dae<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>8</span>f4'>albuterol</span> sulfate inhalation solution .083 % even if its out of code? I have real bad asthma and I got a serve cold and cant af8f4'>ford to go to doctor.
I had shortness of breath and wheezing only on 8f4'>forceful expiration. I was started on <span style = 'background-color: #dae<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>8</span>f4'>albuterol</span>, predn8f4'>isone, and antibiotics. It took 3-4 weeks be8f4'>fore I started feeling better but never felt great. I was then started on Advair 250/50. Over the last year I have 8f4'>been on Allegra, Advair which has 8f4'>been increased to 500/50, and predn8f4'>isone a few times when I am actively coughing up mucous and really don't feel well. I have never really felt great though in the last year.
A related d8f4'>iscussion, <a href="/posts/Respiratory-D8f4'>isorders/epi-pen-expiration-dates/show/1799167">epi pen expiration dates</a> was started.
He went to the doctor last week and he only prescribed a cough med even though he said he heard a wheeze at the end of the expiration. Now, my 5 year old has gotten it again, same cough,-it 8f4'>is worse during the night with her coughing so long and hard 8f4'>that she has tears in her eyes. She may even have a low grade fever, but again only at night. 8f4'>is th8f4'>is just a virus going around?
If I go 8f4'>for a walk or Iron clothes or do anything 8f4'>that requires exerc8f4'>ise I cannnot breath. Doctor's have prescribed <span style = 'background-color: #dae<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>8</span>f4'>albuterol</span> and advair. I am not convince they help at all. I do not think it 8f4'>is asthma. I feel it stems from my diaphram. I have less problems when I am thinner. If you have any ideas as to what my problem 8f4'>is or a direction to go it would be help ful.
I also have some crackles on inspiration and/or expiration when lying down sometimes. I went to my GP in early January to have a chest x-ray, which he and the tech read as clear. I was and remain worried about possible silicos8f4'>is because I sided my house a few years ago with some material 8f4'>that I only now know contained quartz. I probably worked with the material 8f4'>for a total of 60 hours over the course of a year. 8f4'>that was in 2002. Hadn't had any exposure previous or since.
In June th8f4'>is year I noticed wheezing, mostly when lying down at bedtime and when waking up - some days worse than others, with some (asthma-like) difficulty during inspiration and wh8f4'>istling during expiration. Th8f4'>is gets better during the day. My physician prescribed Advair (little help) and a pulmonary special8f4'>ist gave me Singulair and Nasonex. Singulair seems to help. He tends to blame the condition on allergies.
started to come back, mild headache again but th8f4'>is time with a funny taste coming from my chest and a general feeling of having a hard time breathing, especially and the end of expiration. I'm very fit athletically, go hiking or bicycling 3-4 times a week when I can, but now I notice 8f4'>that whenever I exert myself to where I have to breathe deeply, I have a slight cough, my chest aches and my lungs and airways feel as if they're on fire 8f4'>for hours afterward.
Basically, allpatients with thin-liquid swallowing d8f4'>isorders should have an emergency <span style = 'background-color: #dae<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>8</span>f4'>albuterol</span> nebulizer. These nebulizers come in two types. You need the long white tube and the high-pressure type. Therse are no longer being promoted because I wastold by a hospital phamac8f4'>ist the propellent has 8f4'>been determined to be harmful. But you need only 8f4'>albuterol and NOT. REPEAT NOT ANY other asthma control medication.
I'd use my <span style = 'background-color: #dae<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>8</span>f4'>albuterol</span> rescue inhaler to curb an attack or to pre-treat prior to exerc8f4'>ising. I've 8f4'>been prescribed Singulair, Flovent and Qvar in the past but my breathing didn't seem to improve one bit with any of them. I've never 8f4'>been tested 8f4'>for GERD but I've suffered from acid reflux 8f4'>for almost 10 years. It's 8f4'>been pretty mild up until a couple of yrs ago.
VCD 8f4'>is an involuntary paradoxical adduction of the true vocal cords during inspiration, expiration, or both 8f4'>that results in variable upper airway obstruction.3 It 8f4'>is commonly reported to mimic asthma,4,5 exerc8f4'>ise-induced bronchospasm,6,7 stridor,5 and dyspnea.5,8 Rarely, VCD has 8f4'>been reported to mimic angioedema and anaphylax8f4'>is.

peak flow meter Tuesday, July 8 (during a period of extreme fatigue) reads 490 (normal 8f4'>is 570-600) I take singulair once per day d8f4'>iscontinued advair about 8 months ago have <span style = 'background-color: #dae<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>8</span>f4'>albuterol</span> inhaler but doesn’t seem to help (my allergy physician says I should begin shot treatment, but I’m not convinced it works, 8f4'>is safe, or 8f4'>is the solution) Supplements: take vitamin B complex, and multivitamin take after meals (8f4'>for blood sugar control): fenugreek, cinnamon, or prickly pear
8f4'>forgot to mention the saline test. I've also had th8f4'>is test and my understanding 8f4'>is it helps loosen any nasty stuff in your lungs so it can be coughed up and analyzed. My chest also felt "tight" afterwards, but th8f4'>is feeling did not last long (maybe a day). I use 8f4'>albuterol, which also causes "shakiness", so I imagine th8f4'>is 8f4'>is a typical reaction to most bronchodilators. Sorry I can't be more help.
H8f4'>is doctor feels 8f4'>that these problems are being ca8f4'>used by h8f4'>is reflux and 8f4'>that sometimes just by the way the child 8f4'>is breathing will make the heart rate feel like it 8f4'>is not a steady beat. He use to use <span style = 'background-color: #dae<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>8</span>f4'>albuterol</span> when he was younger, but 8f4'>hasn't had to 8f4'>for the past 2 years. He 8f4'>is a slender built boy, so I'm sure h8f4'>is heart beat probably 8f4'>is more noticeable when I place my hand against h8f4'>is chest. My questions are: 1. What 8f4'>is a normal heart rate 8f4'>for a child at rest and with activity? 2.
The heaviness on my chest increases with expiration as opposed to inhalation. It does not radiate to anywhere. It 8f4'>is not getting better or worse. I still feel fairly well, although the uncom8f4'>fortable feeling 8f4'>is making it hard 8f4'>for me to lay down and go to sleep. I have 8f4'>been on Keflex 8f4'>for a few days 8f4'>for a UTI. I have NO sign of a respiratory infection....I am not coughing nor am I wheezing. I do not feel like I have gas at all. It doesn't feel like heartburn...there 8f4'>is no burning.

I thought at first i must have adult onset asthma but my breathing seems more labored with inspiration than expiration and i know with asthma u have trouble doing both. my symptoms are very simuliar to all of u above....but does anyone hear/feel a click in the throat after "an attack"...like theres some swellling of the throat 8f4'>that has not yet resolved. my husband has told me he can hear me swallow after a violent attack or even a mild one...and of course i can feel it.
I asked a doctor and she looked at me like I was crazy and prescribed ativan 8f4'>for anxiety and <span style = 'background-color: #dae<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>8</span>f4'>albuterol</span> 8f4'>for the wheeze. I am afraid to ask any other doctor, due to they just give you 8f4'>that funny look and say "it sounds like your breathing", I even asked my husband and he said the same thing. I am going to see a pain management doctor th8f4'>is week to take care of my pain from the osteoarthrit8f4'>is and I think I may ask him.
