Nasal and throat cultures test negative except for rhinovirus. Albuterol (qid) Combivent (BID) combined treatment resolved shortness of breath finally so dropped albuterol and combivent... but cough still persists. Follow up again with Pulm increased dosage of Flovent to 110. Sorry so detailed, just wanted to convey that we have tried MANY approaches. He is still coughing. Albeit less frequently on some days, but still very bronchial cough. Wet, non productive. No drainage and No fevers EVER.

I have these same symps when I get bronch. I too have asthma and the lung doc I had told me to eat bananas one or two a day because these meds tend to cause potsasium loss which leads to cramping..... I've done this and it worked for me..........best wishes...K.

I am already aware of Gastric Bypass Surgery intended for use in weight loss. I have a family member who underwent this procedure. He lost the weight and has also put his Diabetis under control. Interstingly enough I have not heard of the Xsophy procedue yet. Sounds like a good tool to aide in surgery with less complications for the patient . Minimal inscisions are always a plus too.

I use Albuterol Inhalers for my asthma and I've been recently having some trouble with 'em. My mom and I share the same dosages, which I find really weird since I just merely have asthma and she has emphysema as well. How is your blood sugar? (fasting and after meals?) Have you had your thyroid tested? Make sure that you do cardio work as well as weight / resistance training. Maybe you need to eat more calories? Your body may be holding on to the weight because it is in starvation mode. Asthma inhalers should only be prescribed by a doctor and not given out without discretion. Medications are not candy and are used for treating actual conditions. There side effects to every drug, and that needs to be taken into consideration when treating disease and balance of the two should be sought.

hey , thank you for taking your time to be here for all of us. i never had asthma now they say i have it been sick with cold oct 17 turn into this i feel better but sometimes feel like am under water, so i have inhalers but so scared to take because of heart racing etc. do all inhalers do that and are there any that dont. i wheeze alot at night but to scared to take a puff. plus they putting me on tricor for high tris i think will all my meds mix with that to.

The albuterol I understand. Pulmacort is not short acting, so that I have trouble understanding. And as for giving O2 for someone at 96 per cent I don't understand at all. At higher altitudes 96 would be completely normal, and is only slightly below normal at sea level.

i didnt think it was a big deal and i was a bit erratic with my meds, experimented with homoeopathy for a bit and then it was on and off for a little while. at the time the doc put me on 25 mcg and when i kep bloating, i would read about how the meds just made u dependent on them etc...whereas homoeopathy offered a permanent cure. So the long and short and fat of it is i weighed 68.9kgs when i went to the endo and she put me on 100 mcg of thyroxin. i also gymmed and dieted and lost 3.

If this does not work then my doctor is going to do a spirometry test for asthma since it has been bothering me for more than 2 months. Topamax (Topiramate) is not a weight loss medication; I'm surprised you'd find a doctor to prescribe it for that. I take it daily, for peripheral neuropathy. ve been seeing a trainer and he says the best way to lose body fat is to walk at an incline (like 13) and at a pace of 2.9 he says try to do this 4-5x a week for at least 30 min ( I aim for 45 min) we also do weights 2-3x a week as we'll. and of course we all know watching what we eat which is the hardest for me, I train so hard then come home and eat crap and it pretty much wipes out my entire workout!

It took me almost a year to find the correct dosage and 15 yrs later, still having dosage adjustments (just changed dosage again last week). Take it easy after surgery and get plenty of rest and make sure you start eating healthy, you will gain some weight, but it will come off (at least it did for me), once your dosage is where it should be.
