Avatar f tn I'd consider getting your son vaccinated in India, and then perhaps revaccinated later if you don't trust the effectiveness of the vaccine you got in India. You can run the brand of vaccine by your doctor at home and see what the doctor thinks of it.
Avatar m tn Its gone almost 17 days. I not sex with my wife till date as in India a god festival.
Avatar f tn I know nothing about Covishield, but people in the US who have had one J&J shot are being encouraged to booster it.
Avatar n tn BANGKOK – For the first time, an experimental vaccine has prevented infection with the AIDS virus, a watershed event in the deadly epidemic and a surprising result. Recent failures led many scientists to think such a vaccine might never be possible. The World Health Organization and the U.N. agency UNAIDS said the results "instilled new hope" in the field of HIV vaccine research.
Avatar m tn FIRST OF ALL....LIKE LIZZIE HAS SAID OVER AND OVER......YOU ARE GOING TO END UP BANNED! You are spamming the board with your ridiculous comments & multiple threads. You do NOT have peripheral neuropathy. That is something that occurs LATE in HIV infection or w/AIDS anyway.....if you're going to read on the internet...read the right stuff. If you have numbness and tingling...it's psychosomatic/anxiety related.....I'm 100% sure of it. Second....
Avatar m tn I am not aware about his CD4 count or viral load. He stays in a small village in India and under treatment of the doctors of Government Hospital and takes medicines for HIV (subsidised by government) prescribed by them. Last month he was hospitalised due to severe fever and weakness and dignosed with Intestinal TB. He also has chronic piles. He has also lost cosiderable weight (50%).
Avatar m tn TB usually affects people that have full blown aids but if your sex was unprotected penetrative vaginal or anal sex then you need to test 3 months post--exposure.
1479533 tn?1292407473 don t know about india's card but hbv is very common in asia and india so all babies must get vaccine at birth, all, this way hbv will be killed forever trnsmission is thru blood and sex but if hbvdna is very high hbv is in saliva too but possibility of infection is very very low you should check hbsag and if negative make vaccine or if money is an issue make vaccine anyway and check hbsab antibody after all vaccines done
Avatar n tn Vaccine Campaigns May Be The Cause of New AIDS-Like Disease in Asia and Drug Resistant HIV Affecting Africa Researchers have identified mysterious new symptoms that have left scores of people in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa with an AIDS-like disease and drug-resistant HIV respectively. Coincidentally, vaccine trials took place in several regions in both continents. The patients' immune systems become damaged, leaving them unable to fend off germs as healthy people do.
Avatar f tn thank you for your reply firstly no one told me you are effected by HHV 8 only i read this in internet because of HHV 8 also spread from sexual roots anyway have few more questions 1) you said 'you'd not get that in india' mean HHV 8 not spread in India? 2) my son need steroid inhaler also so long term steroid using will makes him immunity low in future? 3) my son is only 7 year age i can't force him for frequently hand wash and wear mask etc..
Avatar m tn Hi, Anti HAV antibody is a test for Hepatitis A antibody not HIV. If you dad had a vaccine or past infections for Hepatitis A it would be positive for IgG antibody and negative for IgM. So, if he had the vaccine he is immune to Hepatitis A. If he didn't have the vaccine he was exposed to in sometime in his life (in the past) and is immune to the virus and is not sick now and won't transmit it to his family or friends. No this is not in any way a test for AIDS.
Avatar f tn Since you are in India. the guidelines is 6 months as per south Asian bodies, but u can absolutely trust any result thats post 3months mark. Also since u have said your encounters are post 8 months. u have covered the longest window period. Test is the only way to know your status, not symptoms.
Avatar m tn I had a minor encounter in India and got 4th generation test. Im little bit worried after reading that. Pls somebody conform the reliablity of the test. or anybody know the prevalance of HIV group O in India.
Avatar n tn My mother had 3 shots of hbv vaccine 10 yrs back followed by 1 vaccine recently . Why is her hbs ab still low ? (Wrong vaccine ??) She had jaundice 11 yrs back .does that relate to anything ? She is not feeling well for last 20 days .can that be due to this acute infection ? does my father has any chance to clear this without medication ? What suggest that he is a chronic carrier ? I'll get everyone in my family checked for vit d ( vitd25oH + intact pth ,as suggested by you ) .
Avatar m tn if I asked her for a vaccine I'll not got married anymore :( (stupidity from our people )
Avatar n tn Drugs to Prevent Malaria (antimalarial drugs) If you will be visiting a malaria risk area in India, you will need to take one of the following antimalarial drugs: atovaquone/proguanil, doxycycline, or mefloquine (primaquine in special circumstances and only after G6PD testing). Note: Chloroquine is NOT an effective antimalarial drug in India and should not be taken to prevent malaria in this region.
Avatar m tn This issue that has been bothering me for the last couple of months. While travelling in India, a puppy licked fresh open wound in my son's toe. He was given 4 doses of Rabies vaccine in India. He was to receive 5th dose and we were hoping to give the 5th dose here in the US. But, we were told the CDC recommendation is for 4 doses. So, he did not receive 5th dose.
Avatar m tn I did not receive the DPT/DTP (Diphtheria/Tetanus/Polio) vaccination as a child and am traveling to India soon so will need to get the vaccine. I have looked for the regime of vaccinations for DTP in adults but have found only those relating to children's vaccinations. What is the adult course of immunization? How necesary is this vaccine when travelling to India? Is there any risk related to having the vaccination a couple of days before I leave for India?
Avatar m tn im not sure if I received the Hep B vaccine ..but before I went to india in 2005 I think I received it..say I had Hep B and then got the vaccine..would that mess up my results...or does the 3 panel test scan for everything..??
Avatar m tn If given with the Hepatitis B vaccine, it is given in three doses. You need to get the second vaccination against Hepatitis A to have full immunity. It should be good for life. The Typhoid vaccine is only good for several years so if you were to travel again several years later, you may need to get re-vaccinated for Typhoid.

Avatar f tn I hope your symptoms cleared up! Since a dog bite in India 9 weeks ago my life has been turned upside down! I had the first of 5 vaccines in India 4 hours after the bite (a small tooth wound in my left foot). Had general fatigue, stomach trouble at first then my left leg (where the bite is) started to ache. The aching got worse with each vaccine. I only received much milder aching in my left arm and right foot. Anyway, I started to worry and this effected my sleep.
