Hello, I was contemplating the percentage chance i contracted the HIV virus and was wondering that if the chance of someone having the virus is combined with the chance of transmission is so low, why does the general media/public make it seem like aids is everywhere. Hi Does anyone have a positiv ething to say about sleep aids and if so which ones are working for you?

They did a segment about AIDs. It hit me, once again, how everyone knows about AIDs and so few know about hep C. I had this idea, that if a bunch of us contacted them pitching our stories, that maybe they'd do a show with various segments on Hep C. It just never ends. You really can't blame the people for these questions, it is the government's lack of education. If they spent only a fraction of what is spent on HIV/AIDS awareness then people would know how HCV is acquired.

I knew more about hi / aids than most of these folks when i was 14! Serious. Very disappointing, the need to do better work to educate teens & adults. Why are there no television spots -or- specials on television -or- something. That's why the brackets keep going up man-ignorance is the culprit man...

Like I have posted before, until the government spends money educating people it will never change. If they spent just a fraction of what they spend on AIDS awareness it would make a big difference.

I had an event at my school for AIDS awareness day yesterday and I thought it would be a good deed to society to get tested. I go to school in the Bronx in NY, and I went to one of the department of health's to get tested. It was not exactly the cleanest place in there and it was FILLED with people getting tested. This sounds really ironic but, my test came up negative but should i go get tested again in the next coming months from risk of getting HIV from the health department place?

If we think back to the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, no one would say the word AIDS either. In the beginning, the government was very slow to act. But the AIDS epidemic had a voice, a very loud voice.

My results are in, and I am happy to relay (to whom ever is still reading these posts) that I am free of HIV. I have also decided to become a volunteer at my local AIDS awareness program! I have already attended several lectures, and I am getting more and more passionate about shouting from the roof tops about what we can do as people to rid this world of this disease.
