They symptoms include raised swelling spots /hives all over my body, facial swelling, especially the lips and eye areas, and terrible itching of skin and scalp. At one piont, I was diagnosed with asthma and put on a nebulizer for several months. The spots seem to move per occasion. I have been trying to scientifically figure out what is causing these conditions - keeping a food journal, seeking help of allergist, dermatologist and a GP.
Involves the bottom of my feet and my toes, and the palm of my hands and around the pointer finger and the thumb. I've tried itching creams to no avail and the only relief seems to come using benadryl. I am 55, going through menopause, but toward the end of it I hope. Started when I was 52. Not having hot flashes at this time. This does seem to be worse in late afternoon and night. I cannot think of anything different in my use of soap, detergent, lotions or any foods.
I have been taking advil for the pain since December, and now the pain is radiating to underneath my arm and I have itching, not topical, no rash, but deep inside along the same path as the pain. Surgeon at this point does not know. Any ideas??
I searched for arm itching which lead me to you blong1717 and others who suffer from arm itching. I too am so glad to see that I am not the only one. I have had this for 4 years now. Mine started out with poison ivy (which I thought was the problem) for the first summer even tho I still itched at times in the winter. The second summer I got it again and went to my Dr. and got a shot.
Hello, My body has been itching me for the past week and its proved to be very difficult to sleep. There have been no signs of rash or anything of that nature. I've tried moisturizing my whole body and putting cortisone but both aren't working. I really don't know what to do. This is causing me a high level of stress and I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
could he caused that? I had NO SUCH PROBLEMS before him, and I'm no longer with him but I the itching never stopped. I have it on and off. I'm alone, no boyfriend, no sex...only the itching for company. What is it? If I'm ever in a new relationship I don't want the problem, the itching, the embarrassment again.
I backed the tea back to one small glass in the morning and switched my sleeping tablets over to advil..NSAID and took 2 a night. 3 days later my itching disappeared. It's been 2 weeks and it hasn't come back yet.
Sometimes the burning and itching is so severe I can't continue walking. Please help me - I life in Arizona and love to hike and walk. I can't go more than 1/2 mile before it really starts to burn and itch - usually when I begin sweating. Do you know what this is? My MD has no clue but thinks it may be a circulation problem. However, he can't figure out why it only happens outside and not in the gym. I'm in pretty good shape, however, I did weigh 250 lbs at one time (I'm a 5'9" female).
I think it is because shirt tags, coat collars, my hair regrowing in all rub right there....and its itching so badly. I get them out on Wednesday.
I have tried cortisone cream, and neosporin on the sore parts, oatmeal baths, washing with lukewarm water, using astroglide lubricant as a moisturizer, and eating copious amounts of yogurt and avocado. Benadryl and advil seem to help manage the symptoms, but I want them to actually go away, not just be managed. I'm just so anxious about this and I need help. My husband and I don't know what else to try. Is there anyone out there who can help me? Please.
Hi I was just recently diagnosed with MS and one of my symptoms was itching and hives. This usually happens when i take a shower, or exercise. I have not started any meds yet for MS, but I thought it might be releted to MS. Anyone else have itching before treatment?
I tried advil, benadryl, hydrocortisone, dermaplast, sarna, and so on. The pain did not seem to be directly on the surface, but just below it. It wasn't extremely painful like breaking a bone or spraining an ankle, it was just extremely intense and annoying. "Make it stop" sort of thing. I eventually filled up my Jacuzzi and turned on the jets full blast.
My point here is that everyone has something to offer, including some excellent chemical analysis and research skills and we welcome whatever skills you can offer, including moral support. My personal goal is consumer advocacy. I want to publish as much information and analysis about Tramadol as I can find. If you have something to share, welcome. My personal agenda: I am for personal empowerment through information. I am a lawyer who has done consumer protection class action work.
I just had my first dose of levaquin last night and I too am allergic to sulfa (amoxicillan, morphine, iodine and shellfish as well ..lucky me) and within 30 minutes my throat closed up and I could barely breathe...I lost my voice first..thought I ate a hot pepper in my pizza or something..then the corner of my eyes started itching, my lips became red and swollen. I have NEVER had an allergic reaction this bad before!!! Thank god for the ambulance and E.R.!
Occassionally it flares up and becomes red and raised but presents no discomfort and as such has not been a cause of concern for me as I understand that it will hopefully disappear over time. She has had a few outbreaks of hives though. This covers most of her body but is wrost on the back of her legs and buttocks as well as on her arms. She is 3 yeras old and has had about 4 or 5 outbreaks.
The red bump in the middle is oozing a little clear fluid. My neck and shoulders seemed to be alittle stiffer last night - more than usual - so I too some advil to help me sleep, poured some hydgrogen peroxide on the bump - it bubbled up a little bit . The surrounding rash is also sore if I press on it and it does seem like it has expanded a little bit from when I first noticed it.
Got bit badly by my dog and got cellulitis with fever and flu-like symptoms. The itching and dry cough started then, and has continued ever since. Was put on Augmentin for the infection, but didn't help the lungs. Have a clear chest xray and docs can't hear anything in my lungs. They are scratching their heads: am now on another antibiotic (just in case!), albuterol inhaler, antihistimine, cough suppressant, etc. -- nothing helps! Am really feeling depressed and uncomfortable--miserable.
I am stocked up with advil, itching creams etc...I thought advil was better for the liver than than tylenol?? Now I wonder what will I eat tomm...
In the past two or three years the condition has gotten worse and now I have many more sensations such as burning and most recently itching. It now invvolves the entire legs and on occasion I notice that my fingers feel slightly different and the itching is spreading. Today I had pantyhose on and thught I would loose my mind and was surprised to find some relief just by taking them off. In the last week there has been a slight tingling and nerve twitching around my left eye.
I do and it's no fun, it's just something I do to deal with the constant throbbing, itching, tingling and never ending pain that I have from advanced osteo-arthritis in my upper back and neck. The arthritis is the direct result of a car accident I was in, in 1982, I had broken my leg and they did a terrible job at UCD, well my leg is a little bowed and as a result it is almost a half inch shorter than the other.
Using steroid cream now - helped a lot. Frequent right and left upper quad pain, left kidney pain, dark urine at times, and itching. All of this comes and goes. I thought I was having symptoms of portal hypertension but when bx came back stage 0, I started looking at what else. Posted some and got back possibly cryo especially RF pos. Rheumy ruled out rheumatoid arthritis - dx with fibromyalgia. Internal med doc dx Raynauds, had purplish feet, this weekend face white and lips white felt bad.
He gave me some pills to stop the itching, it helped the rash to go away and I stopped taking advil pm. I still have periodic flare ups on occasion still and can't seem to figure out what is causing it. I am wondering if you can tell me what this might be and if stress maybe a cause to the flare ups. It only happens periodically. This discussion is related to Red Rash, Itchy Skin .
I had horrible itching too. Not as soon as you, but all of our immune systems are different. I went through the list of recommendations and it helped some but I didn't clear till I got a steroid shot after tx. First, you need to call your dr. to see what he/she suggests. You have to remember to drink TONS of water to hydrate from the inside out.

I am worried about getting addicted since I have to take it like 4 times a day and it has been a couple weeks now, and I am still in terrible pain, and I tried not taking the oxy and tylenol for 2 days and only took some advil - but it is 3:30 am in and finally took the oxy because I was in too much pain to sleep. Does this mean I will become an addict? Please someone give me some incite.
I started having all kinds of issues such as yeast infections and constant itching and severe burning even when the infection was gone. Within 2 weeks of starting this pill my energy level, motivation and spirit hit rock bottom. I had never been so depressed in my life. I think I cried for a couple weeks strait which didn't make any sense because things in my life were great at the time. Being on this pill was a disaster for me and my relationship.
My boyfriend and I had sex a while back and he used a durex extra sensitive condom and I got a yeast infection. I got that one all cleared up and the other day we had sex using a Trojan. I've been sick for about two weeks and I've been taking advil, we had sex while I was sick because I felt okay. Today I'm starting to freak out because I think I have another one. There is no burning or itching but there is discharge. The discharge is slimy with tiny clumps in it sometimes.
