I have been havong abdominal pains for months now and just in the last 2 months i started to feel and look like i was 5 months pregnant, and of course there was no chance of that.Still had the pains and they have lasted before period after period an d ovulation i am constantly in pain then about 3 weks ago i started experincing other symptoms, and it came fast. gas, difference in bowel routine, backace, urinating often through out day and up throughout the night, and list goes on.
I'm totally healthy except for the digestive annoyances, migraines and (new, pre-menopausal?) allergies, and on no meds except advil and allegra when needed. My alcoholic aunt developed kidney failure and then colon cancer, and I remember she smelled like my poops. I'm high-strung and drink alcohol (avg 2 ) daily, but my my IBS is stress-related and the alcohol relaxes me and relieves my symptoms. Should I be really worried and having a bunch more invasive tests?
Hello everyone I am a soon to be 22 female 5'2 about 123 lbs, with some strange symptoms going on. I originally went to my doctor a week ago for non gastroenterology symptoms but while checking me out, she said she felt some inflammation in my lower abdomen.
It's driving me crazy b/c it won't go away and nothing makes it go away (ibs meds, tylenol, advil, etc.) Could it be ovarian even though it's all over my left side with occasional pelvic pangs? Should I just get the CT scan or should I ask for US/ CA125? Any advice appreciated!

My GYN said that it was because of prostaglandins -- the uterus contracts and causes irritability of the colon, as well. Advil, Motrin, Aleve -- all of these really do help.

In the past few years I have noticed that around the time I am due to ovulate I have a tendency to start having stomach cramps and diarrhea and also nausea.
I don't have helico pylori I am not lactose intolerant Not allergic to anything Stool and blood samples = good Ultrasound = good Sometimes, randomly, I have normal stool and no pain or anything I've been writing log of what I drink and eat on those days, and there is nothing suspicious What could be my problem ?
Its so embrassing to have to use a toilet other than your own let alone, fear to leave the house at times cause your afraid of a accident and I have had many. There is one aggravated thing I have to take to makes my IBS worse. But I have no choice I bet I have bought and taken more anridiaherra meds than anyone has there whole life. My Ibs is also tied to another medical condition when it flares so does my scatica. Just tonight thought my worse fears were confirmed. I took a Advil Liquid gel.
I have been seeing a neuro for about 6 yrs, and have had all the test, CT's, MRI's and have been on about every preventative known with out success. So, now i just take the low dose Maxalt 5mg and daily advil. I have tried Pamelor, and elavil for preventative in the begining, because i have not always had migraines. its been about 7 yrs now, before that i just had headaches.
what I would advice is that if you can if you have the energy try doing some walking and dont eat afer 8 clock I dont know if anyone else finds this but I get really bad pains in my belly at night I have been tested for IBS and I dont have that the pain happen about 3-4 in the morning? cause by the time that I get in from work I am to tired to go to the gym because I dont have any energy. I will keep you posted on how I am getting on on meterformin.
The rib pain was from pleurisy (inflammation of the chest wall) and the bloating and indigestion was from IBS. I think I had a total of 4 chest x-rays. Not once did they suspect anything else. Please update if the pain under your rib cage gets worse. I have had the pain since November. Although it's not as bad, it's still reoccurring.
I too was dx with endo 8 years ago and now dx with IBS. I am alwys bloated (look pregnant) and used to take Aleve among other NSAIDs to pain relief from endo. Does anyone know if the laproscopy I had for endo or the Aleve could have caused scar tissue which is now causing my bloating that never goes away? Thanks!
I got constipated and no pain relievers with apparent shingles on my side but not very painful only itch and burning. I am hoping the constipation is a result of the shingles and having IBS too makes things sensitive on the nerves. Continuing even one tablet of the pain relievers will constipate you 100%.
I am so frustrated today. I have had IBS for years and I basically control it however I can by taking imodium every day and watching my diet. Sometimes I have extra bad days and have to take more imodium and then I get constipated for awhile. Usually after one of those bouts I end up with really bad stomach cramps one day while it all cleans out. recently I didn't even realize it but I hadn't gone for 2 weeks!
I usually have gas anyway from ibs, but this was/is excessive and increased), pain in ovary and back area and leg, frequent urination, and general malaise. The pain wasn't as bad so I never went to see what was wrong. This time I was missing periods in conjunction with all the other symptoms so they were diagnosed. I also went through another period of almost constan pain on my right ovary with severe constipation during periods, but nothing showed up on ultrasound.
I've been told never to take anything other than Tylenol for the pain since Advil and Aleve can cause bleeding. To be honest, Tylenol doesn't even touch the pain and it doesn't help the inflammation/swelling. I have found that hot baths with Espom salts relieves some pain. Although I'd love to say that there's an easy answer, I really can't. I just try to keep moving with gentle exercise on bad days and enjoy more vigorous exercise on good days. Good luck!
I had one when i was 15 and they just told me I had IBS that is why i think that even if i have one they are going to say the same, I think that endo should be ruled out and if not that, than lock me up in the institution with the white jackets because this is it. lollll No seriously though. I did the cleanse because there was some blockage and it helped clear it and get rid of the nausea. I was hospitalized twice last year with cluster miagraines. I know its because of my bowels.
At first I spotted for two weeks the first two months I took Yaz then I had no period at all. Yes it helped my cramps and back aches. But I'll gladly take some advil instead, and I'd rather have a period instead of not fitting into my clothes, I go to the gym 3 times a week, so after reading your info I understand the weighted gain. I also have noticed the anxiety more and more with each month.Good luck girls. Not the pill for everyone!
I too have had the same symptoms been hospitalized 3 times with it and finally told IBS .I don;t agree with that diagnosis and I agree that they apply IBS for I don't know what it is .My surgeon just threw his hands up and said IBS .I went through all the testing and at first they thought it was Chron's and that is what I still think it is but they said they found no evidence of it .I understand how frustrating it can be when you can't get a clear diagnosis .
I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
I was on gabapentin 800 mgs 3 times a day for 3 years with little success. Then we tried lyrica with no success. Then I was put on cymbalta and it aggrevated my IBS and I lost 20 pounds in a couple weeks with severe diarrhea and vomitting. Lastly, I was put on savella but my blood pressure was through the roof and I normally have low blood pressure, low meaning, sometimes I am on meds for them. Also, I became hypoglycemic on savella.
So, could the Imodium which I take everyday, and have been for over a year now, be causing problems in my liver count?...I don't take asprin, or tylenol, and I only occasionally take an advil or two.. Thanks for all your help!
As soon as I get into a place I get so dizzy and my vision is all messed up. I get so hot and sweaty and my heart races. I want my life back. I still dont believe that its just anxiety causing all of this. I feel like I have something else wrong that the doctors cant find even though i have had bloodwork, mri, ekg, and they were all normal. I started taking .25mg of xanax once a day. still dont feel any better yet. So if anybody has any help please give it to me.
So I dug up some more info that I wanna share ... in case you are dying of curiousity. Chronic fatigue anxiety, depression and IBS and the fact I fixate and worry so much about pain and my health. Do you have information you can send me on what services/prices you offer and about the webcam aspect etc. I am in the Toronto area. I have a decent computer with high speed internet. Can you please provide some detail on your cbt and psychotherapy services & how they might help me? I was hoping that you might have suggestions or thoughts for my chest and /back pain/body pain.
I tried Donna and Kevin's method for a short while except for their way of living. I juiced and amazingly my IBS and ANY stomach problems totally went away. Check out their site. If you want to know more about juicing and how I cured my IBS just contact me, I will let you know the ingredients I used. It was amazing. It got to be too costly for me and I had to quit. I really wish I could get started again.
Man, I was so relieved to find this forum and to read your posts. I'm 47 (lord how did that happen?) and just remarried after 20 years of being single in March of 08. So, regardless of age, I be a NEWLYWED ! LOL I've never had any pain or discomfort with sex until this past 6 months. The symptoms I have are identical to many posts here, severe debilitating cramps on the immediate heels of an orgasm, or when I become aroused much less severe.
