Advair side effects mouth

Common Questions and Answers about Advair side effects mouth

advair

Avatar f tn I was taking that dosage. As time went by I developed very serious adrenal fatigue, sometimes so bad that I couldn't walk. Cortisol levels were very high. I was treated for it with only moderate success. But there was a more serious side effect that I was not aware of. For the last two years my lung health was declining seriously and I honestly did not think I would make it through the coming winter. I assumed that the COPD was progressing at an alarming rate.
5037123 tn?1362663006 One idea is to google - possible side effects of Advair. Possible side effects of Symbicort. See if one of the side effects of either Advair or Symbicort is pain between the shoulder blades. Based on what you find out, I would have a conversation with your doctor. Only a suggestion. I'm sure there are other asthma medications besides Advair and Symbicort which may be a better match for you. Good luck.
Avatar n tn These symptoms are most often seen with the ingestion of oral steroids but can occur with inhaled steroids such as the Fluticasone, a component of Advair These side effects are much less likely to occur with the use of an inhaled steroid but there is a wide range of individual patient sensitivity to these drugs and, thus, it is appropriate to suspect the Advair.
Avatar f tn I am sure that you have been rinsing your mouth well after using the Advair, or you would have thrush already. That is the worst that can happen with inhaled steroids. The doses are SO much smaller than oral steroids and they go directly where they are used that there are no associated systemic side effects. The long term benefits would be a reduction of the inflamation in your lungs. After a while, you may talk to your dr about using Advair 250/50 instead.
Avatar n tn You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose. Along these same lines, unless your doctor is absolutely certain that you have persistent asthma, you might be able to get by without an ICS. You should, without fail, always use a spacer with the inhaler and rinse your mouth and gargle after each treatment.
Avatar m tn I heard that symbicort has less long term side effects but after over a year my FEV1 scores haven't improved at all on it
Avatar n tn They are very very scary. Could this be a side effect of Advair. Also, my son is not consistant in taking the medication. Are there side-effects from this med when you don't take it everyday.....twice a day?
1425157 tn?1311651679 i could call the doc and ask him/her if there is anything out there on the market that they can prescribe to you to keep your bronchials open w. no side effects of the adrenaline rushes....you have to weigh out the benefits and what is more acute and has to be dealt with and not getting enough air to me take priority over an occasional fast heart however you want to make sure that the doc has okayed you to take an aspirin if you are going thru this to ward off the threat of clotting....
Avatar f tn I would talk to your doctor about the side effects - advair has some nasty side effects that can be serious depending on age, health, other medications etc. There can be cardiac related things going on related to the medication or simple heartburn from it but it's better safe than sorry.
Avatar n tn Am asma patient, and I notice that taking Advair cause me fatgue. I also notice the retention of urine just as describe on the comment of another user of Advair. At this time I will not use the said medication. Thanks for the warming of other statements, no longer will I use it. Thanks mucho.
Avatar f tn I was having the same side effects, switched to dulera and have very few side effects, only stomach acid which is treatable. Glad you're feeling better.
Avatar n tn are there any drugs to help asthma that dont have these crazy side effects. i mean other than albuteral. it seems like advair is making alot of peoples asthma worse and singulair has a whole list of crazy side effects like people acting aggresive, suicide, cant sleep, nightmares, depression. someone please tell me that there are some drugs to help asthma without all these side affects.
Avatar f tn Guess what - they work better than Advair, are cheaper (even though not covered by insurance) and have no side effects. I also take Zyrtec (an over-the-counter antihistamine) or Benadryl. Advair has a good PR program, with side effects given short shrift.
757137 tn?1347196453 Wow! I didnt know that! Im supposed to be taking it but dont cause I cannot afford it!
Avatar m tn I have been on Advair for one week. It has completely taken my taste and smell ability away. I am not going to take it any more, but will my taste and smell senses return with time? This discussion is related to advair discus side effect.
400099 tn?1282954864 Steroids especially those used for breathing like advair can cause Thrush which causes your taste to be off. I had this happen when I was on advair and an antibiotic at the same time. I had to go to my PCP for some other medication for the thrush. I am not a Doctor but I have not heard of Copaxone doing this. Copaxone on rare occassions can cause the salivary gland under the tongue to swell. I had this but it did not effect my taste.
Avatar f tn Using Advair resulted in extreme coughing and, eventually, choking. It was a question of get off it or die. It also played havoc with my adrenal glands and my eyes. I now take natural anti-inflammatories and mucolytics and am much better off, even though I have moderately severe COPD. Go natural and you will get your voice back.
Avatar n tn I have looked up the side effects of both Singulair and Advair. It seems that both can cause skin issues. I just know that he's been using the Advair all along with no problems but once he started the Singulair the itching returned. Now I will have to say that the past two days have been better. Maybe his body needed to adjust? Dunno.
Avatar n tn This was one (of many) side effects I suffered with Advair. I was producing high levels of cortisol which led increasingly to disabling panic attacks. The short-term solution was small doses of Xanax. I also was put on Travacor which inhibits the excitory neurotransmitters. Ultimately I had to get off Advair because of yet more serious side effects. It is unfortunate that my pulmonary specialist (an HMO hack) neither recognized nor solved any of these problems.
757137 tn?1347196453 Because of serious side of effects of both Advair and an inhaled steroid that did not contain salmeterol, I now rely solely on a nebulizer and an antihistamine. I take supplements to reduce inflammation and thin mucus. I have moderate COPD and am doing fairly well, but would benefit from a longer-lasting medication. Any suggestions? Avatar n tn I have medium severity asthma and was recently prescribed Seretide. I have been on it for close to three weeks and I now have a constantly hoarse voice. I have followed the instructions and rinse my mouth after each use, I have gargled with various throat medicines and mouth wash, I have sucked on hard candy to produce excess saliva etc and nothing works. I am a stage actor and singer as well as receptionist for the company I am with and this has seriously interfered with my work.
Avatar m tn You might want to read up on the side effects of Advair. There has been a movement away from the use of inhaled steroids. I stopped using Advair almost four years ago.after developing serious side effects. My condition actually improved when I got off it. You might be interested to know that inhaled steroids do not reduce mortality. I tried Spiriva but found it very drying and had to stop using it.
Avatar m tn I don't know if these are symptoms of a condition or side effects of some of my meds, so can someone help? I take Norvasc, Altace, Lexapro, Crestor, AndroGel, Doxycycline Hyclate, and Advair 250/50. I have been on the first 4 for years. The last 3 have been added within the last several months. I also have Severe Sleep Apnea, but I use my APAP religiously. AHI is usually <4, but will on ocassion sneak up to 5.
Avatar n tn In fact I am doing better than I did on Advair. And - no side effects. I realize now that the serious bronchitis I was suffering was caused by Advair. The only prescribed drug I now use is Duoneb (albuterol and ipatroprium) in a nebulizer.
Avatar f tn My ob took me off advair. She said the effects are not know so there fore it's not safe in pregnancy. I only use my ventolin rescue and prednisone when I have an attack. My asthma is very bad but I have been getting by without the advair. Maybe you should talk to your ob. No controller inhaler is safe during pregnancy.
757137 tn?1347196453 Not only can it worsen asthma, but the side effects can be fatal. Other forms of treatment should be sought and, if the product is used at all, it should be for short periods of time. Advair affected my adrenals, harmed my eyes, and worsened my asthma. It caused such serious choking that I feared it would kill me. I stopped taking it last August and am doing fine on natural anti-inflammatories. This is no thanks to my pulmonologist. I had to work out my treatment for myself.
Avatar f tn I am not really familiar with aerocort, but I did do a little research on it. Aerocort appears to be a combination inhaled corticosteroid (ICS - as indicated by the "cort" in its name) and salbutamol (a long acting broncho dilater). This would be similar to Advair or Symbicort. You cannot be addicted to this medicine. You have a chronic disease and this medicine keeps your lungs open so that you can breathe. It is necessary for you to live. It will not harm you in any way.
