Avatar f tn I SUFFER FROM CHRONIC COPD AND I HAVE NO INSURANCE SO THEREFORE I HAVE NO DOCTOR. THE DRS. I HAD PREVIOUSLY HAVE PRESCRIBED ME COMBIVENT INHALER AND ALBULTEROL BREATHING TREATMENTS. WHAT CAN I DO TO TRY TO MANAGE MY COPD BESIDES QUIT SMOKING WHICH I HAVE CUT DOWN TO A HALF A PACK A DAY. WHICH IS ALL THAT I CAN ACCOMPLISH NOW.
Avatar n tn Is Seraflo basically a generic form of Advair? I am not covered by insurance and am looking for less expensive and generic drugs that will still work.
Avatar n tn My 19 year old son who is on allergy meds and advair inhaler, eyedrops ect. He has always had large size pupils. The other night his pupils were pulsing from large to regular size. He is also getting over a cold at this time. I know for a fact that he doesnt do drugs, so it couldnt be that. He did have seizures when he was around 2 they lasted for about 4 months, then went away as suddenly as they started, doctors had no clue what the cause was.
Avatar n tn looking for assistance to obtain advair at little or no cost.
1625877 tn?1299344991 I have been on Advair 500/50 for over ten years. Recently, I lost my health insurance and now cannot afford the Advair. Is there such a thing as having withdrawal symptoms from Advair?
Avatar f tn As it turns out, that was a smart move for me to make as my disability insurance has approved me finally for the long term disability which technically takes me through retirement age as long as I do not improve and with emphysema that will never happen. Unfortunately though I have no insurance and except for medicaid or medicare I am uninsurable with a preexisting condition of this magnitude. In my state I do not qualify for medicaid so........
Avatar n tn A couple of years ago, around the age of 13, my daughter started getting exercise-induced asthma and since then it has turned into full-blown asthma which has to be treated daily now (she is now 16). She was on QVAR, which didn't work very well, then we went to ADVAIR, which the insurance company encouraged me to change her from because it was so insanely expensive and now she is taking Dulera (which I think is working better than ADVAIR was) one puff each in the a.m. and p.m.
967168 tn?1477584489 Just a warning - be careful what you say to your doctor, NP or nurse -- it can be later used against you to deny a claim even years later; health insurance, life insurance and supplemental health policies. Even if there is no medical history in the time period they state on your policy, they can and will hold it against you later on. I'm finding out the hard way about this with a problem I've been having with a claim.
Avatar f tn A little over two months later the cough started up again. The doc put me back on Advair. I used it for two months and continued getting worse. I saw the doctor and he put me on Ventolin with my Advair and antibiotic. I saw him a week later worse and with thrush in my mouth and throat. He ordered a CT scan and put me in the hospital. My right lung showed two small spots under 1 cm. I relasped the afternoon he released me from the hospital with wheezing and a cough with phlem.
Avatar m tn Do you take any kind of medicine for your asthma? I have asthma myself and used to have sharp pains when I would take a very deep breath but since I have been useing Advair ,I haven't done that . There is only one draw back to Advair and that is, it is expensive even with my insurance the copay on it is over $50.00 a month but it does improve my breathing so I guess you fight one evil with another.
Avatar n tn The FDA taged advair with a black box warning the agencys highest caution level.New strategy,no matter what you may have heard,aLABA,such as the one in Advair,is not your only option.mild asthma,an inhaled corticosteroid such as flovent is often all you need.Still wheezing, patients can also consider an inhaled corticosteroid paired with a leukotriene modifier.Hope this helps you,and doesnt worry you.
Avatar m tn s Medication Guide advises that anyone with liver problems consult with their physician before taking Advair. The guide also states that no hepatic or renal testing has been performed on the medication despite the admission that patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) have received abnormal liver function tests after having taken Advair.
Avatar f tn Is it safe to stop taking Advair cold turkey when my symptoms improve or do I need to take something else to come off it slower?
Avatar f tn Steroids are often worse than the disease it treats. Advair almost killed me. By the way, steroids harm your immune system. And - reputable doctors are no long using Adviar 500. And in Februrary the FDA came out with a warning about Advair. They said it should only be used when nothing else worked and, even then, it should only be used short term. Maybe you need another doctor.
Avatar n tn how do I prevent a yeast infection from advair This discussion is related to thrush from Advair.
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with early copd. Since I do not have health insurance, i go to a clinic. The physician's assistant has prescribed singular for my copd, I don't feel that it is helping me very much. I mostly have shortness of breath & coughing in the evening. This disease frightens me because I don't feel I am getting the right medical advice. I asked about simbicor & spiriva and was told that those meds are for later stages of copd.
Avatar m tn I have been on Advair for one week. It has completely taken my taste and smell ability away. I am not going to take it any more, but will my taste and smell senses return with time? 757137 tn?1347196453 Also, whereas I was had been getting annoying face hairs (not funny because I am a woman). I no longer do. Has anyone else noticed that Advair affects hair growth?
Avatar f tn They said that I likely have asthma and prescribed me with Advair 100/50 for a year. During the one month that I took Advair I was concerned about drug dependency, side effects, high costs of the drug ($180 per month), and the necessity for it since I have NEVER had an asthma attack. During the month of using Advair, I noticed my shortness of breath a little less than before, but the difference was so mild that I couldn't really tell if Advair was making a difference or not.
Avatar n tn s office told me to go back on Advair. I said no because of the precaution about asthma-related death, and she basically told me I will not get better until I go back on it. I'm finding another doctor because I don't want to be pressured into taking a certain medication. There are lots of asthma meds out there, and I will find one that works for me.
Avatar n tn In fact I am doing better than I did on Advair. And - no side effects. I realize now that the serious bronchitis I was suffering was caused by Advair. The only prescribed drug I now use is Duoneb (albuterol and ipatroprium) in a nebulizer.
975514 tn?1324997938 Asthma is different from emphysema. I'm very happy with advair, I was on it when I was diagnosed with asthma and helped me go from no sleep and coughing my brains out all day to actually feeling like myself again. I switch down to pulmicort because I didn't like the LA bronchodiator (didn't think my asthma was bad enough to have it) and was doing well until 2 weeks or so ago.
Avatar f tn Yes..Advair is horrible for you. It brings your immune system way down. If you can go without it, I suggest you do so. I have meneire's diseases and I believe it was caused by the advair. My sister is on the Advair and has a constant sore throat but she can't breath very well without it. She could breath better before she was on advair. At first, you feel great on Advair. After a few months, for a lot of people, your health is worse.
Avatar f tn You will not get a physician to agree with me, however, if it were me, I would try two weeks of Cipro. Not seven days. And NO advair during that time or for a week before.
