Symbicort contains budesonide and formoterol fumarate dihydrate and Advair contains fluticasone and salmeterol. So while they do not have the same medications, the medication groups are the same. I have asthma since I'm 4 years old. Curiously enough only in Portugal. Now I'm 40 years old. In Autumn and Winter it increases and in Spring and Summer it tends to slow down or disappear for a while.
Recently I had to go to the Hospital because the VENTILAN aerosol was not producing any effect.
I am using combivent(4x a day ) and serevent diskus 50mcg 2x for my

Flovent 50mcg inhaler. Is this OK or should I

I use the Advair Diskus 250/50 every 12 hours. My job requires that I talk. It has become difficult to talk with the use of the Diskus. If I stop using it a few days my voice comes back. My Doctor told me to gargle, which I do when I rinse my mouth. I have also tried using biotene moisturizing mouth spray as well as the cream. Nothing seems to help. My employer is always asking when this is going to change. I want my voice back. Do you have any suggestions.

I am using advair for my asthma and it seems to help with those symptoms and I also have a rescue inhaler Flovent. But i do clean my advair diskus before and after each use. I dont have any infections in my mouth or lung i just have the white mucus and it has only been happening for two months and I have been using the advair about a year now. I heard from someone that the white mucus could be from allergies...is that true?
My pulmonary specialist just gave me an Advair Diskus and increased my Albuterol breathing treatments to 4-6 daily and my Combivent Inhaler every 4 hours. I almost died from an asthma attack last weekend. I had emergency heart surgery in June and have been having arrhythmias so I'm on a heart monitor for this month. I understand that Advair causes heart palpitations. Since I'm already having trouble with my heartbeat, I'm afraid to try the Advair.
Forgot to mention that that Advair also gave a case of severe bronchitis (which I falsely assumed was a worsening of my condition) which kept me coughing all day and all night. The FDA issued a warning last February about salmeterol (one of the components of Advair), but I found the same problem when I tried an inhaled steroid that did not contain it.
I have been cautious about creating any sort of quick, drastic, pressure change in my mouth but now, I wonder about the use of my Advair diskus. I take Advair on a regular basis for asthma and have refrained from using it in the 24 hours post-extraction because I figured the quick inhalation may dislodge the clots. Now, however, it has been two days post-extraction, and I wonder whether it is safe to use Advair without risk of dislodging the clots.
