Advair and muscle cramps

Common Questions and Answers about Advair and muscle cramps

advair

I have been on Advair 500/50 for over ten years. Recently, I lost my health insurance and now cannot afford the Advair. Is there such a thing as having withdrawal symptoms from Advair?
There are no withdrawl symptoms that I know of. And just to add....if you are not taking Advair as prescribed and you DO have an asthma attack, this drug will not help you. It is not a fast acting medication. Be sure to have albuterol or the like near by.
And then there was sluggish digestion and some urinary retention. And muscle cramps. Wonderful stuff, isn't it?
I am seeing a psychiatrist at the time and he is talking to me about my muscle twitches and says that a little bit of antidepressants and talk therapy should help but I just want to do talk therapy for my condition instead of medication.I also don't sleep to well and I was experiencing cramps in my hands like spasms also in other parts of my body but I don't experience them as much as I used to. I also yawn a lot could that be related to anxiety if that's what I am experiencing.
It also caused eye problems, adrenal fatigue, muscle cramps, severe brochitis, anxiety and panic attacks (the last two were the result of adrenal fatigue). Beware. The ads on television make this sound like a wonder drug. They omit talking about the deaths. My health is now much improved and I am sleeping better.
Already the stupid muscle cramps are gone, and the doctor seemed surprised I was getting them on the advair.
Very twitchy and shaky on it though. For 2 hours after I take the inhaler, my hands shake and shake. Also, the muscle cramps I got from advair haven't really left yet, I don't think ... Can't really tell because I'm puppy sitting and going from no exercise because of my jaw and lungs to at least 2 hours walk/jog a day. I'm sore!!
I am already using 800mcg of pulmicort a day and even at that level it has been giving me muscle cramps and messing up my period, so I don't want to increase it. Any comments? Or things I could try?
I get horrible muscle cramps from using ventolin more than once in a while. Advair also gives me muscle cramps as well (listed as a rare side effect), so it definetly is possible. The first symptom I get from asthma flaring is chest tightness, that happens before I notice any breathing problems or peak flow drops, plus it is the last symptom to go away.
During that time, I experienced some muscle cramping which was unusual for me. Got my prescription refilled and have been on the advair for about a month. Also, tried singulair along with the inhaler for 2 weeks but it gave me headaches. Recently, the muscle cramps have gotten worse & now I am achy. I looked and saw that was a side effect & read elsewhere that it could be temporary due to the newness of the med. Has anyone else had the muscle pain that has gotten better?
So the other question I would have is could I back off on the meds some like maybe 150/50 Advair. All I know is the side affects from this medicine are not nice. Leg muscle cramps, mood swings, large appetite, ache like I have the flu. Feel like I am on speed mentally but not physically.
Also, my doctor has prescribed me an antacid, 20 mg Omeprazole, for the metal taste and cramps. This medication is used to prevent acid buildup in the stomach. This was prescribed to control the metal taste. I have been using this medication for 3 days and it has definitely helped. I hope this helps some of you, please report back!
It caused me to have adrenal fatigue, cataracts, muscle cramps, severe bronchitis, anxiety and panic attacks. The last straw when when I started choking. I got off that poison PDQ.
I have this pain too.....in my right arm halfway up. There is a lumpy area right in the muscle....and sometimes it feels hot and otherwise very tender. At night it "heats up" and throbs and is extremely painful. Lately, the left arm is beginning also. About 12 years ago I had carpel tunnel in wrist.......though it was called DeQuervain's disease. I had the survery and it has been fine. But that was excruciating. The brace did not help.
They took blood this past week, so it looks like I may be going back on the Asmanex rather than the Advair (I was having bad muscle cramps with it too). Maybe change my stomach med to nexium from aciphex I am just tired of coughing....if I talk too much...I cough, if I laugh too hard, I cough, sometimes when I am drinking something, I start coughing (which generally turns into an attack). If I lie down, I cough. I rarely ever wheeze, but I sure do cough.
I was having a severe allergic reaction to Advair discus inhaler. I quit taking it and my cramps went away, but my asthma got worse. I'm slowly recovering, and my asthma is taking longer to recover from too, without the steroids. I'd rather not breathe well than suffer that again. I was so desperate I posted on here.
I was recently on advair which part of it is the flovent and I did not enjoy it, muscle cramps and exhaustion without it helping my asthma any. The steroid I like a lot is pulmicort, it worked very well for me. Good luck and let us know how everything works out.
that proved to be a big problem because in doing so I made my body deficient in Magnesium and Zinc and suffered terrible muscle cramps and Charlie horse” every time I played football After doing the research, I realized that by taking Calcum/D3 supplement s and not a balanced mineral supplement with D3 this caused me to be deficient in the other minerals and eventually this led t the bad cramps. Recently I went to a Naturopath and was put on the “Blood Type A” diet.
Hi. Chigglewhisper. I thought I would let you know my situation and what happened to me. I agree with others you should of course discuss the situation with your doctors. Lowering the dose is risky for not clearing or relapsing. I am g1b, 1 million at start of treatment. I had horrible sides from the interferon. I was okay up to 11 weeks, experiencing the same sides as others, fatigue, rash, flu symptoms etc, but maybe a bit more severe, compared to the stories of others here anyway.

The only other medication I am taking is Albuterol and Advair inhalers for my asthma. I am really miserable and not one professional seems to care much less understand what the hell is going on.
It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out. The last one about 2 years ago stopped me breathing in and out completely for 10 to 15 seconds and I thought I had bought it. The spasm cough causes it all and when it goes away (usually 4 to 5 days) things are relatively normal although a normal cough stays with me for weeks after.
I have tried to cut down, and I get terrible headaches, cramps, aches, vomiting, unbearable fatigue and depression. I want to stop taking it because it doesn't help my headaches much, and I don't want to need a pill to feel normal. 1. Is it really worth tapering, or am I just prolonging my misery? I tried cutting down to 6 a day and felt terrible. Would I be better off going cold turkey?? And how long will I feel like dying if I do? 2.

I am now on Advair 500/50 and still use my albuterol 8 times or so a day. I have tried to tell my doctor about the other symptoms I have. These include tightning in my throat, not my chest. I cough up a ball of phlem the size of a cotton ball about 4 - 5 times a day. This is very sticky, almost like silly putty. It is never white, and usually has brown spots. I always have a nose full of mucus and it is usually yellow or green.
I started having left leg pain and muscle cramps in the summer, which interfered with my sleep and I would wake up in pain with foot and leg cramping. In October I developed a rash around my midsection, which moved up to my chest. I thought that it may be shingles, as I have other herpes zoster related disorders, such as chicken pox, Bell's Palsey and neuralgia like pins and needles pain for many years. My doctor said he thought it was Pitrysis Rosea and gave me a cream.
I'm kind of afraid to go to the doctor with it, it's been so long. I did have a chest X-ray and EKG for what turned out to be a pulled chest muscle about 3 years ago. Both were fine. The one thing that seems to snap me out of it last time was just trying to really believe it was "nothing to worry about", and really relax and breath through my stomach. Which I did initially when lying down watching T.V. The next day I felt better, but of course it came back.
yes, she can walk a little faster than I do but she also has chronic thrush, often has lung infections, is often on antibiotics, has IBS and Gerd, has severe muscle cramps, arthritis and suspected osteroporosis now..I have none of those things.
This has been happening on and off for over a year now. i have asthma, and am on singular, advair, and flonase. I have had all the cardio tests run...negative, i have had tons of pulmonary test done...all normal. Except one test, a VO2 test that showed that there was an abnormality between the respiratory and cardiac functions.
