advair and liver damage

I sure hope they are - I have been taking Advair for years - 250 mg once a day. I am 1b, no liver damage, high VL, on tx. I have tried weaning myself off the Advair, but my asthma comes back. Also take Singulair and Zyrtec every night.

(1) Severe adrenal fatigue (sometimes unable to walk), and high cortisol resulting in anxiety and panic attacks. (2) Damage to and loss of head hair; development of facial hair. (3) Early stages of glaucoma and the development of cataracts. (4) Development of thick, tenacious mucus which exacerbatied existing chronic bronchitis, and resulting in constant cough and sometimes in choking episodes so severe that I feared for my life. I developed a problem with my sinuses.

Hey Mikki, I've recently stopped needing my Advair Inhaler, and was hoping to be able to quit using it forever, (if possible). I would imagine that this steroid, while inhaled, does enter the system, and would probably also have an adverse reaction for SVR . Ya think? That would be ANOTHER good reason to quit smoking. What's your take on the Advair???

I dont recommend coming off the advair though. The initial 3 days I had horrible congestion and wheezing that albuterol could not relieve. Funny doesnt sound like asthma if the albuterol doesnt help. I dont have productive coughs anymore after stopping the advair. It seems the advair was making the mucous come up like crazy. I am seeing a doctor in a couple of days to get a pft without the advair.

Several months ago, I noticed asthma symptoms returning. I saw my pulmonary doc last week and he upped advair to 250/50. How long should it take until I see a noticeable change? Also I have been having a dry cough, which I read can be a side effect of advair. Should that go away eventually?

he has cirrious of liver and hepc. can this be related to the liver not working ? he is being seen every 6 months for mri of the liver and spleen. spleen is now 22cm enlarged. he is getting worse everyday. not sleeping and even takes ambien cr. mood swings etc.. is there anything he can take for the itch he is taking advair so he cant take benadryl. hope you have a suggestion. we go back to philly for a checkup in about 3 months.

Yes..Advair is horrible for you. It brings your immune system way down. If you can go without it, I suggest you do so. I have meneire's diseases and I believe it was caused by the advair. My sister is on the Advair and has a constant sore throat but she can't breath very well without it. She could breath better before she was on advair. At first, you feel great on Advair. After a few months, for a lot of people, your health is worse.

s too soon to go on oxygen, until we see if advair works. but i worry about the advair too. will i ever get better and be able to switch to lower advair dose? my MD says i have "moderate" COPD....does it get better, or what?

IV steroids and breathing treatments. Started coughing up mucus,gagging and choking. Told the dr that I was experiencing these symptoms, still sent me home w/7 days oral steroids.At home experienced gagging, choking and suffocation. Asthma dr who changed my nebulizer meds.I sounded like I was taking helium in. My voice was high pitched if I had a voice at all. Went to pulmonologist who said it was in my vocal cords and that I needed to see a ENT. 10/2 back tp ER. Was admitted again.

I have been given Advair to take for my copd, but one side effect is fast and irregular heart beat, chest pain and increased BP----I take Metoprolol succ er for my PSVT--- -Will the Advair Diskus work against my metoprolol meds? I am alllergic to Penasylin, tetrocycoline, decadron, dyphahidromine, and benedril. My other meds I take are: zolof, welbrutrin, seroquel xr, gabapentine,tizanidine hcl and pravastatin sodium----will there be any adverse reactions to any of these meds?

Now, however, it has been two days post-extraction, and I wonder whether it is safe to use Advair without risk of dislodging the clots. I am also taking oral contraceptives (I have been informed that this medication may increase the risk for clotting problems). I am feeling more respiratory congestion with each additional day off Advair and would like to know if it's safe to use Advair so soon after wisdom teeth extraction. Thanks!

People can have elavated readings but have little or no damage and you can have normal readings but have damage.

Advair has a steroid in it, which can cause hair growth, etc. I took Advair for my COPD briefly. I simply did not like the side effects that it seem to give me.

The reason im wondering is because alot of times certain inhalers will mess with your tongue such as making it numb and swollen, making it wierd colors, or sometimes even ooze out puss and phlem, A few of the inhalers that will do this unless you rinse your mouth out after every actuation are, Combivent, Flovent, ADVAIR or even some nose sprays that hit the back of your tongue. Long term use of pred will cause a host of problems from diabetes, liver and heart damage, adrenal problems... It is not a medication that should be used as a maintenance medication. I hope that helps you some. Take care and feel better. God bless.

I am using advair for my asthma and it seems to help with those symptoms and I also have a rescue inhaler Flovent. But i do clean my advair diskus before and after each use. I dont have any infections in my mouth or lung i just have the white mucus and it has only been happening for two months and I have been using the advair about a year now. I heard from someone that the white mucus could be from allergies...is that true?

I have had normal liver enzyme test and a normal ultrasound and ct scan, but I still have extreme bloating. This has been going on for months now. I worry because I binge drank on a nightly basis for about an 8 year span, 3-5(sometimes more) glasses of wine and such. Should I be worried that I have liver damage that is just not showing up? I have changed my diet significantly ( no dairy or gluten) but I am still very bloated. I am sick with worry that I have caused permanent damage.

The only way to truly ease your mind is by being totally honest with him/her. I have liver damage and kidney damage due to drugs stage 2 liver stage 3 kidney.. if your liver were damaged and you had a flare your belly would be extended/pain upper right you would be lethargic/vomiting.. other symptoms but these being severe.. It is not fun and I would not wish it on anyone.. I contracted hep C from slamming and further continued the damage through pills/alcohol..

I have never been to hospital, I dont appear to have yellowing of the skin or eyes. What is the likly hood of damage to my liver, and if stoped now could my liver possibly recover from and damege.

My brother has been in the hospital for 12 days for liver damage. His skin and eyes are yellow, abdomen pain and swelling of the stomach. They drained off 12 liters of fluid from stomach area. He's has dementia, no communicating with him that makes any sense. In this situation what is his chance to make it through this? The doctors and nurses are not saying much, but wait and see.

Are these symptom of HB - I have to be at the Oncology Department on Tuesday to have an ultrasound done of the abdoman - seem to get frequent bladder infections and my liver reading indicated high level of anitbodies. I have drunk alcohol and do not smoke either. I have hypothyroidism but Dr made my Thyroxin and Armour intake too high per day - was on 125 mg Armour and 0.1mg of Thyroxin now cut to 50 Thyroxin and 40 Armour Thyroid. Could this impact on my liver?

week 24 bloodwork showed virus undetectable [good news] my question is,the biopsy shows fatty liver and stage 3 liver damage. if the svr continues, will my liver heal itself? does this stage of damage cause fatigue. i know the peg/copeg can cause fatigue im just wondering if after i stop tx will my energy level improve? if anybodys got any 411 on this id sure like to know. thanx.

no telling and best to see ur doctor and have it checked...if liver damage is worrying u from massive tylenol use..get the doc to draw ur liver enzymes to know for sure ur liver is ok....the liver is amazing at adjusting/the whole body is/to abuse...I have often thought i had a liver made of concrete with the massive tylenol i ingested...

for a checkup yesterday and the ALT liver function test was high. The other liver tests were normal just that one was high. The Dr. thinks it is from my acid reflux medication and is changing that but I rarely take it. Could it be the Darvocet? Sometimes I take one then another before the four hours are up for the next dose but mostly only one at a time. I just thought as long as I only took the recommended amount I wouldn't damage my liver.

I have been taking 3 to 4 vics a day. They are 10mg-660's. I don't drink, am I trashing my liver?? Recently I have noticed after being slightly constipated, and working out, a lot of pain/soreness in that area, and in my right lower back. I was curious if I might have damaged my liver awhile back, and maybe symptoms are showing now?
