Common Questions and Answers about Advair and joint pain

advair

Avatar m tn I have moderate to advanced copd and take both advair and spriva. My hep doc didn't see any problem with it For me it came down to a choice of whether or not I wanted to stay of the oxygen tank.
5037123 tn?1362663006 Last week I was diagnosed with Asthma (through a breathing test) after two bouts with Bronchitis and lots of coughing. My doctor gave me Advair. After 3 doses I began getting back pain between my shoulder blades. Not sure if it was from the Advair I took another dose and the pain got worse. I contacted my doctor and he changed me to Symbicort. I had no problem for 3 days, but after today's dose the back pain is back. Is this typical or am I doing something wrong when inhaling.
Avatar n tn Hello there, Just finished reading your comments. You need to call your doctor's receptionist. Ask for a follow up appointment. Tell your doctor what symptoms you are experiencing. If the pain is unbearable and you're having a sharp pain in your chest when you take a deep breath and you have pain on the right side of your back between your spine and your shoulder blade, you have to share this with your doctor asap. I wish you well.
Avatar n tn Several months ago, I noticed asthma symptoms returning. I saw my pulmonary doc last week and he upped advair to 250/50. How long should it take until I see a noticeable change? Also I have been having a dry cough, which I read can be a side effect of advair. Should that go away eventually?
Avatar f tn I stopped both five days ago and have noticed a marked improvement in joint aches. Still awaiting improvement to attitude to do things I totally enjoy, have energy to do basic housekeeping, limit naps to one a day instead of most of the day.... My lungs seem to be dispersing copious amounts of mucus...and sinus drainage has slowed. Without any exertion I can breathe normally...whatever the hell that tis..
Avatar f tn Now, however, it has been two days post-extraction, and I wonder whether it is safe to use Advair without risk of dislodging the clots. I am also taking oral contraceptives (I have been informed that this medication may increase the risk for clotting problems). I am feeling more respiratory congestion with each additional day off Advair and would like to know if it's safe to use Advair so soon after wisdom teeth extraction. Thanks!
757137 tn?1347196453 Advair has a steroid in it, which can cause hair growth, etc. I took Advair for my COPD briefly. I simply did not like the side effects that it seem to give me.
Avatar f tn I have interstitial phneumonia since 1973 and have been on advair 500 since then I noticed lately that I am losing my voice and my pharmacist thought it was due to prolonged use of advair I also have trouble with pain in my legs and feet my toes turn up and I feel that if I try to straighten them out they would break very painful
Avatar n tn I dont recommend coming off the advair though. The initial 3 days I had horrible congestion and wheezing that albuterol could not relieve. Funny doesnt sound like asthma if the albuterol doesnt help. I dont have productive coughs anymore after stopping the advair. It seems the advair was making the mucous come up like crazy. I am seeing a doctor in a couple of days to get a pft without the advair.
Avatar n tn I am using advair for my asthma and it seems to help with those symptoms and I also have a rescue inhaler Flovent. But i do clean my advair diskus before and after each use. I dont have any infections in my mouth or lung i just have the white mucus and it has only been happening for two months and I have been using the advair about a year now. I heard from someone that the white mucus could be from allergies...is that true?
Avatar m tn I have been on acid reflux medicine it did bot get rid of the pain. I was told that the pain comes from me having asthma and I need to exercise more. So I have increased my amount of exercise it has made the pain worst and more frequent. It is a sharp pain on the left side of my chest and it also feels like someone was sitting on my chest in that area. Generally it comes when I am really exhausted and short of breath. Can you tell me something to take to ease the pain?
Avatar f tn s recommendation that you discontinue the Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder and substitute regular daily doses of albuterol was inappropriate and wrong. It is not consistent with the national guidelines for asthma treatment. The elevated residual volume is consistent with sub-optimally controlled asthma.
Avatar f tn So far (4 days) no change except that I am now constantly yawning as well as not being able to catch my breath...Now I awoke today to find I have extreme joint pain particularly in my knee area. Not sure if it is related but makes it very difficult to walk.Any advice would be appreciated as the only time I seem to get any relief is when I am able to fall asleep..
Avatar f tn Hello, I am a 26 year old female who never smoked and has no history of asthma in the family. For the past 9 months, I've been experiencing a mild shortness of breath, sometimes accompanied by a sharp (and sometimes dull) pain on the left side of my chest just above the breast. I've noticed the sharp pains from time to time when I inhale deeply or when I exhale fast and hard. Other than that, I don't wheeze or cough like many asthmatics do.
Avatar f tn To my knowledge Advair® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) has not been linked to strokes. Have you heard anything about this in the lay press?
Avatar n tn it seems like advair is making my asthma worse. i started taking advair like 7 month ago and it seemed like for the first few months it was working but i had to become dependant on it everyday or else i would start weezing nonstop. after that my weezing was worst than ever and i started noticing that after i used advair my weezing was much worse. i saw this thread yesterday and now for a day and a half i havent used it and i feel alot better.
1625877 tn?1299344991 I have been on Advair 500/50 for over ten years. Recently, I lost my health insurance and now cannot afford the Advair. Is there such a thing as having withdrawal symptoms from Advair?
Avatar m tn He told me my results were consistent with asthma and prescribed me Advair while also using Proair for relief. Its been one week and the Advair hasnt made my symptoms any better. Im starting to wonder if I have something other than asthma. Any thoughts/advice/feedback? Thank you in advance.
Avatar n tn I have emphysema. i use advair twice a day and spiriva one a day. The biggest problem for me is that I always seem to havemucus build up in the mornings. My doctor has told me to try mucinex, but that doesn't seem to work all the time. So i try using albuterol in the morning to help loosen up the mucus so that I can breath better.
Avatar f tn I had my annual endo. Appt. in Feb. and I told him coffee was making me tired. He checked my cortisol level. It was 4.4 at 2pm. He says they are low and wants to do a 0,30,60 stimulation test to see what's going on. The problem is I have to go off Advair for a week before the test, but I can't do it. I have moderate asthma, but constant. Since my appt. my symptoms have gotten worse. Dizziness, muscle weakness and pain, and fatigue.
1425157 tn?1311651679 i got bronchitis and the doc first put me on abuterol and it knocked my heart for a loop and then he put me on advair and it did the same thing so we just stopped it....they are obviously loaded w. steroids and we all know how great that is for all of us....i could call the doc and ask him/her if there is anything out there on the market that they can prescribe to you to keep your bronchials open w. no side effects of the adrenaline rushes....
Avatar n tn ( For the past month had increasing chest tightness, pain and just feeling breathless on stairs etc. Lung doc changed me to Adavair, and after a week I still felt more pain, tightness so I went to walk in. After consulting my asthma doc they decided to give me a course of steroids to nip the attack in the bud. I started prednisone yesterday (30mg) and then developped a bad cold (which is probably why my asthma was flairing since I was coming down with a cold).
