I use Duoneb (similar to combivent) in a nebulizer and find it very helpful. I discontinued the use of Advair (which is basically a combination of Serevent and Flovent) because it almost killed me (choking). It also caused adrenal fatigue, was harming my eyes, and was subverting my immune system.
In place of Advair I use a variety of natural anti-inflammatories and mucolytics. My health is much improved and I found that the severe bronchitis I had was in fact CAUSED by the Advair.
My pulmonary specialist just gave me an Advair Diskus and increased my Albuterol breathing treatments to 4-6 daily and my Combivent Inhaler every 4 hours. I almost died from an asthma attack last weekend. I had emergency heart surgery in June and have been having arrhythmias so I'm on a heart monitor for this month. I understand that Advair causes heart palpitations. Since I'm already having trouble with my heartbeat, I'm afraid to try the Advair.
first I tried Abuterol and it took about a week and it was an incredible relief , so I went back to my doctor and started taking Advair and took about a month to start working and I'm still taking it and it works great.
Excerise:get yourself a heart rate monitor and do the same activity your doing now and record your peak heart rate during your workout.Pick a time limit( I used 30mins) and recorded the starting rate and ending rate.
The reason im wondering is because alot of times certain inhalers will mess with your tongue such as making it numb and swollen, making it wierd colors, or sometimes even ooze out puss and phlem, A few of the inhalers that will do this unless you rinse your mouth out after every actuation are, Combivent, Flovent, ADVAIR or even some nose sprays that hit the back of your tongue. I assumed that the COPD was progressing at an alarming rate. I developed unrelenting bronchitis and would have coughing fits as a regular thing and, most recently, choking. I weaned myself off Advair, having tried everything else. I am now years younger. Bronchitis is minimal and the coghing fits and coking are a thing of the past.
My COPD is now diagnosed as moderate and I expect to live a good long time.My pulmonologist never spotted the trouble.
I became symptomatic when exercising. My pulmonologist put me on advair bid, singulair qd, (combivent and intal prn and before exercise) Been doing fine, but recently been getting phlemy, and tend to clear the throat quiet a bit. I was thinking I was probably coming down with a cold? I do have a hx of gerd, and I take nexium qd, but one thing that happened since I started taking my asthma meds, it seems my gerd symptoms came back.
t any usefull effects except high pulse rate(my pulse was going about 130 to 150 during taking pulmicort) so my doc gave me advair of 250/50 four puffs twice a day, and said if it will not work you have to take prednisone because this is the highest save does of advair ,and my doc is not only one who said this , ihave visited many doctors to avoid these pills but everyone said same thing about my case

I take my rescue inhaler only when absolutely needed. I had no meds like Advair and Spiriva last winter. And I only had bronchitis once. Went to my family doctor and got an antibiotic for that. I am not suggesting everyone give up their breathing meds. NOT AT ALL. But, personally for me, I am doing better without all those meds. Sure I have symptoms. Some days I do good. Other days not so good. But, at least I am not getting sick nearly as much, while I was being given Advair and Spiriva.
t have asthma, my RAD was only temporary, and that the Advair and Proventil would keep me breathing okay until it cleared up. That was 4 days ago.
In general, my breathing is fine right when I wake up in the morning, before and after my morning dose of Advair and on the way into work. Not long after I get there, my chest tightens up and I have to work to get enough air most of the day, aside from when I distract myself with something for awhile.
I have been using Combivent for about a month together with Asmanex to treat my cough-variant asthma and have had pretty good results. However, the first inhalation of Combivent always triggers a major coughing spell (sometimes it's so severe I almost vomit or my ribs hurt). Are there other bronchodilators that might be easier to inhale and still be effective? Or would using a nebulizer help? I've heard there can be adverse side effects with a nebulizer.
I have moderate to advanced copd and take both advair and spriva. My hep doc didn't see any problem with it For me it came down to a choice of whether or not I wanted to stay of the oxygen tank.
Now, however, it has been two days post-extraction, and I wonder whether it is safe to use Advair without risk of dislodging the clots. I am also taking oral contraceptives (I have been informed that this medication may increase the risk for clotting problems). I am feeling more respiratory congestion with each additional day off Advair and would like to know if it's safe to use Advair so soon after wisdom teeth extraction. Thanks!
I am using advair for my asthma and it seems to help with those symptoms and I also have a rescue inhaler Flovent. But i do clean my advair diskus before and after each use. I dont have any infections in my mouth or lung i just have the white mucus and it has only been happening for two months and I have been using the advair about a year now. I heard from someone that the white mucus could be from allergies...is that true?
