advair

5037123 tn?1362663006 Last week I was diagnosed with Asthma (through a breathing test) after two bouts with Bronchitis and lots of coughing. My doctor gave me Advair. After 3 doses I began getting back pain between my shoulder blades. Not sure if it was from the Advair I took another dose and the pain got worse. I contacted my doctor and he changed me to Symbicort. I had no problem for 3 days, but after today's dose the back pain is back. Is this typical or am I doing something wrong when inhaling.
Avatar n tn Hello there, Just finished reading your comments. You need to call your doctor's receptionist. Ask for a follow up appointment. Tell your doctor what symptoms you are experiencing. If the pain is unbearable and you're having a sharp pain in your chest when you take a deep breath and you have pain on the right side of your back between your spine and your shoulder blade, you have to share this with your doctor asap. I wish you well.
Avatar m tn I have moderate to advanced copd and take both advair and spriva. My hep doc didn't see any problem with it For me it came down to a choice of whether or not I wanted to stay of the oxygen tank.

Avatar m tn Do you take any kind of medicine for your asthma? I have asthma myself and used to have sharp pains when I would take a very deep breath but since I have been useing Advair ,I haven't done that . There is only one draw back to Advair and that is, it is expensive even with my insurance the copay on it is over $50.00 a month but it does improve my breathing so I guess you fight one evil with another.
Avatar n tn Several months ago, I noticed asthma symptoms returning. I saw my pulmonary doc last week and he upped advair to 250/50. How long should it take until I see a noticeable change? Also I have been having a dry cough, which I read can be a side effect of advair. Should that go away eventually?
Avatar m tn I went back to the doc and he ordered a chest xray, blood tests and heart tests which all came back ok. Anyway, these symptoms have been occuring more and more regularly lately, on a day to day basis, which can be very unsettling. I havent had 1 day in the last month that I didnt feel short of breath and or my irregular breathing. I even went to a lung doctor and they did breathing tests.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am a 26 year old female who never smoked and has no history of asthma in the family. For the past 9 months, I've been experiencing a mild shortness of breath, sometimes accompanied by a sharp (and sometimes dull) pain on the left side of my chest just above the breast. I've noticed the sharp pains from time to time when I inhale deeply or when I exhale fast and hard. Other than that, I don't wheeze or cough like many asthmatics do.
Avatar n tn I have emphysema. i use advair twice a day and spiriva one a day. The biggest problem for me is that I always seem to havemucus build up in the mornings. My doctor has told me to try mucinex, but that doesn't seem to work all the time. So i try using albuterol in the morning to help loosen up the mucus so that I can breath better.
Avatar f tn I was sent to do a Pulmonary Function Test which came back markedly abnormal. I have had several severe asthma attacks and am now on advair 250/50. My allergy test came back negative and it is not exercise induced. Any advise would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Now, however, it has been two days post-extraction, and I wonder whether it is safe to use Advair without risk of dislodging the clots. I am also taking oral contraceptives (I have been informed that this medication may increase the risk for clotting problems). I am feeling more respiratory congestion with each additional day off Advair and would like to know if it's safe to use Advair so soon after wisdom teeth extraction. Thanks!
1425157 tn?1311651679 i got bronchitis and the doc first put me on abuterol and it knocked my heart for a loop and then he put me on advair and it did the same thing so we just stopped it....they are obviously loaded w. steroids and we all know how great that is for all of us....i could call the doc and ask him/her if there is anything out there on the market that they can prescribe to you to keep your bronchials open w. no side effects of the adrenaline rushes....
Avatar f tn I have interstitial phneumonia since 1973 and have been on advair 500 since then I noticed lately that I am losing my voice and my pharmacist thought it was due to prolonged use of advair I also have trouble with pain in my legs and feet my toes turn up and I feel that if I try to straighten them out they would break very painful
Avatar f tn After reading your comments I am stopping Dulera and going back to Advair, it worked better and I trust it better than Dulera. Another thing I have noticed is the Dulera applicator will fail to deliver the medication, I will have to try it over and over again and in the meant time, the counter of the application continues to count each activation even though it fails to deliver the medication.
Avatar n tn I dont recommend coming off the advair though. The initial 3 days I had horrible congestion and wheezing that albuterol could not relieve. Funny doesnt sound like asthma if the albuterol doesnt help. I dont have productive coughs anymore after stopping the advair. It seems the advair was making the mucous come up like crazy. I am seeing a doctor in a couple of days to get a pft without the advair.
Avatar n tn I am using advair for my asthma and it seems to help with those symptoms and I also have a rescue inhaler Flovent. But i do clean my advair diskus before and after each use. I dont have any infections in my mouth or lung i just have the white mucus and it has only been happening for two months and I have been using the advair about a year now. I heard from someone that the white mucus could be from allergies...is that true?
Avatar f tn s recommendation that you discontinue the Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder and substitute regular daily doses of albuterol was inappropriate and wrong. It is not consistent with the national guidelines for asthma treatment. The elevated residual volume is consistent with sub-optimally controlled asthma.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a 45 year old man, in pretty good shape. Workout every other day 5'11" 185lbs. History of seasonal allergies and sinsus problems. No history of Asthma. In November 2015, I had a really bad allergic reaction to a coworkers perfume and had a very difficult time recovering from it. In February 2016, my doctor prescribed Advair 250/50, once a day and Singulair 10mg at bedtime.
975514 tn?1324997938 I tried stopping Advair altogether and then going back on it. Culprit identified! The bronchitis subsided; the choking episodes disappeared. I added natural anti-inflammatories to my regimen. Went back to the HMO guy and he said it was probably the salmeterol in Advair that caused the problem. He prescribed a weak dose of an inhaled steroid. Same result. So I am off that poison for good. That was about four months ago. I still have emphysema; nothing is going to change that.
Avatar m tn I was on it for 3 weeks and lost my sense of smell and taste. Off it for 2 days now and it's coming back!! NOT going back on it! It screwed up my voice badly too and gave me headaches.
Avatar f tn To my knowledge Advair® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) has not been linked to strokes. Have you heard anything about this in the lay press?
Avatar n tn ( For the past month had increasing chest tightness, pain and just feeling breathless on stairs etc. Lung doc changed me to Adavair, and after a week I still felt more pain, tightness so I went to walk in. After consulting my asthma doc they decided to give me a course of steroids to nip the attack in the bud. I started prednisone yesterday (30mg) and then developped a bad cold (which is probably why my asthma was flairing since I was coming down with a cold).
Avatar f tn Hi, I was a very heavy smoker for 30 years. Quit 3 years ago. Never had a problem breathing till a few years ago. I am 53 yr old female. Went to pulmonologist and had PFT without inhaler. They said my lung function is fine (although it said lung age 70 yrs), that I had asthma and am now on Advair 250/50 2x with rescue inhaler. I also have always had allergies but not to where it affected my breathing till now.
Avatar n tn it seems like advair is making my asthma worse. i started taking advair like 7 month ago and it seemed like for the first few months it was working but i had to become dependant on it everyday or else i would start weezing nonstop. after that my weezing was worst than ever and i started noticing that after i used advair my weezing was much worse. i saw this thread yesterday and now for a day and a half i havent used it and i feel alot better.
1625877 tn?1299344991 I have been on Advair 500/50 for over ten years. Recently, I lost my health insurance and now cannot afford the Advair. Is there such a thing as having withdrawal symptoms from Advair?
Avatar n tn I took advair for a couple days and my voice has been gone for almost a week now and its getting worse help
