adult acne with dry skin

Since reaching my mid 30's my skin has been a wreck. I have dry skin that is sensitive and whenever I use moisturizers they break me out even when they say it doesn't clog pores. So I am constantly trying to battle acne with products that dry and moisturizers that break me out. I just can't seem to get the right routine for my skin type...please HELP!!

Can anyone recommend an acne treatment for those cystic acne bumps that take forever to go away? I'm 46 and did Accutane in my 20s with pretty good results until the last several years. I've had the most success with Pro Active, but my skin got really itchy when I wore mineral powder makeup and I kept ruining towels, pillowcases and shirts. I've also tried Acne Free, Murad and Dermatologic plus prescription cream with no luck.

At the same time I also have chronic dermatitis which causes scaling, dry, itchy skin all over my face and back. It stings, burns, itches constantly, and acne lesions crust and bleed. My skin has also become extremely weak and sensitive and reacts to everything. For example Ive had to cut out shaving a year ago because of the dryness and irritation it causes for days after.

I live in the southwest of Tx, so there is constant humidity. As an adult i still battle with minor acne but with this fourth child im constantly blotting with blotting sheet and when that doesnt work, tissues!!! Usually by my mid second trimester my skin goes back to normal, good luck mama!

Im 15wks and 4days and my hands have been so dry and the skin has been peeling for about a wk. Is this normal, is anyone else going thru tgis?

Before I got pregnant, I had smooth skin. Now I'm getting acne and my face is SO dry, and it never used to be. I can't even wear foundation cause it looks gross with my skin so dry. Have any of you ladies used any moisturizer or acne wash that has helped during your pregnancy?

Hi. My skin has always been clear but about six months ago I got acne. The acne on my face keeps spreading. It's starts off as very small bumps on my face which later get red and swell a little. I also have lots of whiteheads and my acne. I've tried tratree oil and niacinamida and none of them seem to work. Any ideas to what to put on my face?

well i didnt consider id have a bad reaction to them so when i broke out with acne and then a rash around my mouth i thought it was due just to dry skin. i was wrong. i guess i had an allergic reaction i started them on a wednesday and thursday is when i broke out. my face is the only place that has gotten bad ive been using tea tree oil and its been healing all the acne and even some scarring but the rash is there. its like a lightish red patch. its just dry.

its not a home remedy, but I had this same problem and tried so so much everything either made my skin too oily or too dry but I bought clean and clear advantage acne control, took the oily skin away, cleared my acne and made my skin super soft all the time!

About a year ago my husband started developing adult acne. He's 26 years old. Since then it has just gotten worse and worse. It now covers his cheeks, most of his fore-head and down his neck and its starting to scar. It seems like we've tried everything! over the counter acne soaps, creams, lotions, pro-active, prescrisption medication, good hygene; washing his face alot. Sometimes it gets to the white head but some are just bumps. it looks, like irritated.

I had very dry skin and some other symptoms. My mom had Hypothyroid, so my dr tested me. That's treatable, but possibly extreme if you have no other symptoms.

If you put it on a large section (around your nose) and the dryness is emabrassing you then you can use a light face lotion, but the dryness along with the redness should dissapear and you can try washing your face with ice water to sooth the redness. i know im not suppose to but i do pop them at times. some left a dark mark. otheres went away , but im dealing with skin color bumps on my nose that pimples left . i guess they never fully healed or something . ive been trying so much different things to see if it helps the perminent bumps on my nose but nothing seems to work. hopefully i get some helpful advice here i would really appreciate it.

Hello, At this age such breakouts are due to adult onset acne. Just keep you face clean by washing with a mild soap atleast twice a day. Pat it dry and do not rub it. Avoid picking or pressing the acne. You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often.

I've always had issues with acne the majority of my teen to adult life. The only thing I've ever kinda found to help was tanning beds, obviously now I'm pregnant I've stopped and my skin is so gross! Anyone have any natural remedy solutions or products? I'm sick of it!

I am 25 years old, have suffered form adult acne since i was about 14 and had been experiencing lower abdominal pain on my left side for several years. In the last couple of years, I started experiencing hot flashes accompanied by moderate-severe anxiety and depression. Just as an aside, I studied psychology for several years and have earned, not only my bachelors in psych, but also several certifications and honors surrounding my degree ( I start my masters in a couple of months!).

As soon as I stopped treating, washing my face with only water, my skin cleared. I have been washing my face with only warm water for over a month and have yet to see another breakout. I guess my point is for you to try think of what may have caused the initial breakout after the birth of your son. If it is a vitamin or type of food you've been ingesting, try a week or two without it and see if you have any improvement.

s getting to the point where I really need help, because it affects my self-esteem. I think it is adult acne and rosacea, but not sure. I was hoping somebody could tell me what it is and if this could be treated with laser and if the insurance would likely pay for it (united). It helped but as soon as I got off it, it came back with with a fury. Started with 2 bumps on Friday. Then 2 pimples like rash on saturday morning. By the aftersoon I have 6 of them. Come Sunday I had around 12 pimples with reddness in morning. On Monday, it my chin was on fire, it was tingly and itchy all day and the pimple like rash just spread. It is now, Tuesday and it I covered my chin and part of my cheeks. It is tingly, itchy, with red bumps, hot and with pimple like puss.
